    Ignition is a powerful SCADA platform that goes beyond any other offering on the current market. In the last tutorial [Found here: Installing Ignition Edge], we've installed Ignition Edge onto a Raspberry Pi. Ignition Edge is a compact version of Ignition, uses less resources & has slightly reduced capabilities. However, it's still extremely powerful and can run on something as simple as a Raspberry Pi.
    Once Ignition is deployed onto a computer or Raspberry Pi, it's possible to access the gateway through the local IP address: localhost:8088/. If you're planning to access the gateway remotely, it should be available through the IP address of the machine Ignition was installed on. In our case, on a local network, we access Ignition through the IP set on my PI: 192.168.1.6:8088/.
    As mentioned in the last tutorial, Ignition provides a top-notch trial service. You may use an unlimited version of Ignition for two hours. Once the trial expires, you may reset the trial in order to receive another 2 hours to try the software. In other words, you can use the trial in blocks of 2 hours indefinitely.

    Does this Ignition Edge only allow for reading tags and no writing or can you write to them as well?

      There is a setting in Ignition "Bi directional", when this it true you can write to the PLC, the default it read only.

    Awesome!! Please can you explain how to publish PLC data using MQTT on Ignition Edge? It is necesary another gateway to configure MQTT?

    hi I have compact logix studio 5000 plc , customer is using ignition. I check your video ignition can directly read the plc as long the setup opc built in for ignition. So my side not need do any software or programming ? Just connect and browse the plc tag through my plc Boolean or any tag right ?

    Hi Vlad! I hope you are doing well! I really like your toutorials.
    Can you please explain me how to do the same with a ML1500 using a 1761-Net-ENI? I understand Ignition doesn't fully support ML1500 and TAG Browser doesn't works, but I cannot figure how to add tags manually that actually works.
    Thank you!

    Can you change the data type in Ignition Edge to BOOLEAN so the values don't display as an integer value? You might also be able to make a Tag Reference tag or custom data type to have the bits come through properly. I'd like to tinker around with this.
    Thanks for the videos!

      Are you getting an error? Can you try on a different machine? I haven't had any issues with the designer; not sure how to help.

    So it broke down the arrays into dint? Is there an opc server that would make Bool[256] into ignition that wont change its data type structure?

    • @therealcoolc
      @therealcoolc Před 2 lety

      You might be able to create the tags in Ignition through the multi instance wizard or do it manually as an OPC tag and point directly to the corresponding bit. It might be possible to create a script or expression that would convert the value of the dint and write to boolean tags.

  • @josesolanorodriguez5511

    Maybe I sound like a dumb, but my question is: I can send a whatsapp for every alarma active, whit this system or any other?

    • @seanoreilly6551
      @seanoreilly6551 Před rokem

      Looks like the options are Email, SMS (with a separate module and a SIM card) or a voice message with extra software VOIP) Ignition can be viewed on a phone for alarm purposes.
