- I picked up this antique dresser from Facebook Marketplace for $50. This is a rustic, scandi-rustic, farmhouse??? makeover of a super antique dresser. As I sand this piece down, I’ll also go over all the different sandpaper grits and how I use them in my furniture refinishing process for those who don’t know.

I loved the simplicity of this makeover. I love the barewood and imperfections left to tell a little historical story.
I watch many different furniture channels, from the purist types of restorers that would never paint to the rehabbers and I enjoy all of the different types. I am usually of the opinion that it's better to use a piece of furniture than for it to end up in a landfill, but I am so glad you chose to show the natural wood for this piece! Great video and thanks for the sand paper grit lesson.

The Past....
The Old Man had toiled and labored for weeks to build the Beauty for his Bride...
He had selected and cut the wood to lumber and sanded and cut each piece with pride...
He used the skills his father and grandfather had brought from the Old Country and taught to him through the years...
The Present ...
She had hunted and searched and found the piece-- she clapped when she saw the sturdy frame and stout legs...
A flush of insight had shown her to keep the Beauty a simple clean muse...
Again , the toil and labor ensued but with admiration for the workmanship of old ...
The light slowly illuminated the Beauty and her heart melted as she ran her fingers across the simple cool surface ...
She knew it would be hers as it was first destined for the Bride...
She said, " Thank you ," to the Old Man and he tipped his cap as he bid adieu to the Beauty -- now with the new Bride ... ❤

I love your work. I was a nail tech many years ago and I discovered that old, professional grade nail files work great for tricky bits. I ever cut the ends into thinner shapes to get into tight spots.
