In this way God's word (son) reached us like sun rays from sun and is presence in us today that guides us day to day is the holy spirit (the helper) but all is just one God that created all that exists I mean time space and matter plus all that is not yet known to man. In English we use the word ‘see’ to indicate something which has been sensed and experienced visually with the eyes, but in other contexts is means something we have comprehended with the mind (eg, ‘I see what you are saying’). I’m not a scholar of Greek but the word translated as ‘seen’ in John 1:18 is horaō. In other places such as John 5:19, the Greek word blepo is also translated into the English word ‘seen’. The Greek obviously has different words for the different meaning of ‘see/seen’. I read John 1:18 as ‘no one has comprehended/understood God’ rather than it saying no one has visually seen God - as Sam says, that would be inconsistent with other parts of the bible.
