Roger is just on another level. He made a 10x world champion monster look like a child. An this analysis is the best I have ever seen. Great work!
100% agree. You superright bro
Definitely didn’t make him look like a child lol
Yeah he is a monster but "making him look like a child" is a gross exaggeration imo
Hespect
Brady Patrick *Hespetch
Brady Patrick hahahaha
Brady Patrick your comment made me very rappy
Hespeito
hahaha I know right
Love Roger's focus on fundamentals and the basics of jiu-jitsu. Put yourself in a defensive posture and wait for the opponent to make a mistake, tire out, or simply become frustrated. It's simple, elegant, and something I hope to continue to aspire to on my own BJJ journey.
Wow what an amazing analysis, Shawn!
i agree with you that was a really great analysis.
what an amazing lesson by roger!! comes back from retirment after 7 years and takes buchecha to school !
Baw 78 first one Buchecha would have won on points🤷🏽♂️
@@verstappen9937 except he got choked into submission:)
@@verstappen9937 except he was losing 0-2 already...
@Sean Murphy Then he choked him. Good enough for you? Also, it's not a fight. Context actually matters. Do you think Roger would have a worse time in a real fight or something? He choked one of the only people on the planet who has a fighting chance against him.
This is the most incredible analysis and technique explanations piece by piece that makes the people who doesnt know jiu jitsu feel amazed with this match!
Even if you practice just a little bit of the basics of jiu-jitsu you really appreciate Roger's simplicity and focus on fundamentals.
More of this guy please, he's great!
yoseiki I meant the analyst but there is no doubt Roger is great
I agree, Roger is great! Looking at his record and the fact that in all his matches/fights, he's never been submitted! GOAT
I was a student of Shawns back in the old Renzo gym over the methadone clinic. Sucked when he moved to the west coast. I loved his style of teaching. Him and Danaher are the best teachers ive ever encountered. What most people dont know, is Shawn is somewhat of a prodigy. He received his black belt from Renzo in only 4 years!
You also know one or Two things unc… 5 years, time flies. Hug from Uruguay
I've Met and Sparred with BUCHECHA in Humble Texas at a Seminar. This Man is a MONSTER in person Towering. Him being that Strong and agile while tapping my Coaches Coach who were swole as well was impressive. Great Genetics but this just goes to show Size doesn't matter to a MASTER !
A fantastic commentary and fit someone that doesn't know grappling this will teach you a lot. It's amazing how much work goes on inside the circle (clinch). It doesn't look as much at first but when you break it down, as you guys have done, you really see the detail. Fantastic video and I don't know how people could dislike this video.
That is an incredible breakdown, thank you!
Thank you for the analysis!
Thank you for the detailed break down. Good stuff!
Nice!!! Thank you so much!! I would have never understood the nuances of how he won without you
Thank you that was amazing to see the level of attention to details these elite athletes have to have in order to stay in the match.
Fantastic breakdown. Very thorough explanations for any bjj level to understand.
Awesome! Just awesome breakdown! Thank you!
Awesome analysis of this great match!!!
Excellent analysis - very enlightening!
Shawn, Great analysis of the match.
Do more of these videos please. It improved my standing game just by understanding why. Ty
I really enjoyed your vid!! great analysis with a friendly, calming voice! This would be my only little point of adding to roger gracies style/ technique and fight overall. He stayed calm all the time, took his time and was patiently waiting for things to happen. In my opnion this makes the better fighter in most of the cases. If you meet somebody at your level and you know you're good, only true warriors keep the abilitys to stay calm and focused! Mostly ppl start to rush then and with rushing there come the mistakes (as i hapenned with buchecha).
Awesome breakdown and annotation!
Fantastic breakdown!
great analysis , great job
I have never listened to such a wonderful analysis.
Superb analysis!
What an amazing analysis of this fight
Yeah no doubt superb analysis and breakdown very studious
and broken down to the viewer so as to be able to understand, excellent work!
Very good video analysis, thanks!
Excellent video, thank you
A superb analysis, which shows the skill level on display
very good breakdown...thanks for the vid.
Great fight and analysis
Professor Williams!!! Amazing video!!!
Love the break down!!
Excellent commentary !
thank you for the analysis. really appreciated the talk through on such a high level match... for noobs, its hard to even understand all the counters and counter-counters
Amazing commentary! 👊🏻👊🏻
One of the greatest, I love Roger's style!!
Wow, such a good analysis! Subbed!
Thanks a lot. You are very good with details
Brilliant analysis
Far out man, well done. What a great commentary. I'm a BJJ enthusiast but like a lot of people I know who also love BJJ, sometimes is very hard to watch comps, this makes very enjoyable and to be honest a better job than Gracie breakdown. The video marks really helped as well. Keep'm coming.
great break down...thank you
Fantastic breakdown
Great breakdown 👍🏻
Great breakdown, thanks...
Great talk through !
What a video! thanks! amazing content.
Very nice breakdown
you should make more videos like this, one can learn so much.
Great breakdown.
I'm surprised how poorly Buchecha disregarded the threat of being choked when Roger took his back
It looks like B is physically stronger than R, also more fierce. It seems that R knows to be disadvantaged, and takes this fight very seriously. And at that point in the video B looks like he exerted himself to the point where he can not "think" clear enough anymore, what with his back to the opponent, and starts "reacting". That's where his fight was lost, exertion. Which is so impressive by R.
This is like watching, this is weird, I know in my bones that no amount of training would get me there-I'd have to grow up in it too for my training to proceed with the effectiveness that R displays-you kinda get the ancient Greek fascination with heroes and gods. I mean, this is kinda Adonis vs. Hapollo or whatever.
I think it's because Bechacha's style and training is focused on sport jiu-jitsu, which emphasizes aggressive maneuvers to score points. Whereas Roger stuck to the basics and the fundamental principle of jiu-jitsu, which is self-defense first. Both styles are amazing and effective though.
@@JustSujC Buchecha's name is all over this page and you still clobbered it. Show some hespect.
@@8thlvlMage 😂
Loved this!
Awesome attention to detail! I picked up a few things I can use immediately in class.
Great breakdown
nice analysis!!
More analysis videos like this please!
Wow. Awesome analysis.
Great vid. Thanks.
Thank you for that!!
Roger is the G.O.A.T!!! He's the best ever, period! He's never been submitted in any comp, only losses came by way of points, and one hard right hand in MMA.. He's a machine! 71-7-1 bjj comps, and 8-2 MMA, and is currently the Cruiserweight world Champion. Crazy that he's never been submitted in almost a 100 total matches/Fights. Roger = GOAT
Super analysis. Incredible Judo level from Roger Gracie !
What a match. Respect to both incredibly bjj champs ! 🤙
The only thing beating Roger is male-pattern baldness.
The testosterone is strong in this one.
jiu jitsu makes you sweat like a pig, open up your pores on your scalp hairline will I say accelerate hair loss..no doubt
frank james really? Even for women?
girls normally don't have male pattern baldness...but if your a man with a genetic predisposition, yes no doubt imo it will accelerate hair loss...learn the basics the gracie combative basics r real deal for street fighting. jui jitsu as life style is not worth it..become a striped blue go back for a couple weeks every yr or every other yr for basic refresher training.. becoming a mat wizard means day after day training.the payback for the sweat and mat battles is not worth the high risk of injury..never thought jiu jitsu payed back what I put in
Atena Nike especially for women. All female competitors are practically hairless
os dois sao muito fortes ... sao muito parecidos ate nas lutas.
Thanks for the vid habibi
wow. This is a very good video. NO bullshit talking about this or that is the better style but a very good analysis with good arguments. Great stuff! That was what I was hoping for :)
Brilliant. Subscribed.
AWESOME video playa!
Good breakfast material before the gym!
Amazing
Gracie is tough.. He really plays a good standing game .Then his follow up submission attack was powerful ,effective and against a skilled opponent . Bucheta attacked with some impressive takedown attempts .
Nice breakdown
Great breakdown of two of the scariest dudes on the planet. Thank you!
A masterpiece of patience, tactic and skill.
Great video
Worth noting also that Roger trains judo with Ray Stevens at the Budokwai too.
It's worth noting indeed. Thanks.
Rolls Gracie was also trained in judo, as well as some wrestling (I think).
yup, he trained lots of stuffs
Also worth noting is that when Roger comes to North London, he often pops into the Colindale drive-thru of Macca's and orders a McChicken Sandwich with extra lettuce.
Then he would be given many shidos for the negative judo lol
Been training bjj for 3 months lol but this is just a great break down and a great competition for me to aspire to thanks
Very nice!
I'm not into grappling and bjj like I use to be but your video analysis was top notch.
Hespect!
Hemarkable absolutely hemarkable!
Well done...fair & square
Incredible Match, roger is a beast
Where is the complete video of the competition?
Superb analysis!!
What's the name of the background music, I know I have heard it before somewhere else?
Mis-Teeq - Scandalous (featured on GTA 5)?
amazing!!!!
Informative! Do we get seconds?
best kowalski analysis of all time
Just shows you the major importance of grips in jiu jiutsu, gi more so
+FloGrappling WOW. That was an AMAZING breakdown. Don't know how this channel slipped by me till now, but I'm subscribed as fuck now!!!
love the comments. good analysis in my amateur point of view. so
Good stuff thanks for not doing leg lock crap.😉 Seriosly good job.
as bjj has evolved with more complex set-ups and submissions coming from the legs and other places, as well as the fact that in itself the art has become far more advanced..... this should not happen! But somehow Roger stays old-school, keeps his basics on point and he just absolutley crushes. I mean... he purposley pulls guard on Buchecha. I would have loved it if a prime Rickson and Roger would've had an old school no time limit bjj match. The heart says Rickson but the mind says Roger.... but who knows.
Roger Gracie is simply at another level of comprehension
O melhor de todos os tempos!!!
Belesa... True master at work
That was a great match , buchecha didn't go wild like the first match , but those 2 are my favorite bjj fighters
Awesome analysis by Shawn Williams. I guess those 155 dislikes were Buchecha fans. lol j/k - Buchecha is a beast!!!
a masterpiece by Roger
