So let me get this straight. Toyota moves production of the Tacoma to Mexico to "improve efficiency and lower costs" and the price of the truck GOES WAY UP???
That makes sense....
Tacoma has been made in Mexico for a long time
Last year a new SR5 4WD double cab with the 6’ bed was $39K. This year for the identical truck is &47K.
Last year I bought a new 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. The MSRP was $51,848, (I paid $48K).
For a Tacoma identical to mine in 24 is over $67K.
Great review, unfortunately don't want either 😊... 38k for SR?...hmm... wait until looking at higher trims... will get even turn off with such insane price. 😊
My 2018 tacoma will probably be my last. They priced me out.
Not a bad truck you have
Especially since it's a manual transmission.
"maximum swiftness" love it
A lot of cheap plastic for the price. Hard pass for me. Sad day when GM has a nicer interior.
plastic is good when it come to long run , easy to clean
I got a gray SR ordered for 37k; bit expensive but it’s for family. I prefer personally the frontier for simplicity purposes. The Tacoma SR is similar to Nissan Sv and the Nissan SV is basically MSRP at 35k which is the reason I went with Tacoma.
I've been trying to find out if I can make it work with an SR for my family. In my area, I can only test drive a TRD Sport, which does not have leaf springs, and this is the first time ever I am buying a truck. It is just me, my wife, and our 8 month old baby, but I would love to know about ride quality in the SR, and if you would recommend it and if it is comfortable please??
@@manuelfigueroa3407 comfortable for a pickup truck, I prefer the frontier. Roomier in the back. The base SR isn’t bare bones anymore it’s actually decent.
@@MJsonniedee in my country the V6 frontier is about 68,750 dlls, while the tacoma sr is about 48,000 dlls
All manufacturers went nuts with pricing, far outpacing inflation but Toyota went full insanity. 8 short years ago I bought a sr5 Tundra dbl cab trd off road with the 5.7 for 38k. Today that gets you a made in Mexico manual transmission taco with a four banger? Lmao silly!! And when will Toyota move away from these absurd end caps on their rear bumpers? Completely useless to you know, step up on when the tailgate is open.
My friend that was nearly a decade ago have you heard of a thing called inflation figure of the number you gave at what has been the average the last eight years at 4.6% inflation overall and inflation in the auto sector has been a bit higher than this. Thank me later
@@jonathanratliff4780 I touched on that but if you think Toyota pricing is based on anything rooted in reality you are innumerate. And the fact they moved production from the United States to Mexico which absolutely is saving them money, and not passing it on to the customer is even more laughable. Anyone paying those prices for that truck is a fool.
@@pryme2013 The new demographic that will buy the Tacoma especially the upper trims, for them money is just a commodity. I have a client who just purchased a new 2024 Tacoma for his groundskeeper. The affluent will purchase these as a second or third vehicle or a first vehicle for “young Tommy” or like the one I just mentioned above. There are all walks of demographics in this country. Toyota has been doing this for 75 years their marketing division hasn’t all of a sudden lost their mind they know what they’re doing I’m sorry you can’t afford one. Relax and have a good day
@@jonathanratliff4780 lmao your attempt to troll is adorable.
@@jonathanratliff4780Yeah okay, have fun with your 65K TRD Pro. 🤣 You are part of the problem if you think these prices are acceptable. Yeah we all know about inflation but middle class wages have not kept up, that’s the problem.
Jeff I can see u being a game show host possibly.
All jokes aside these prices for a work truck and sr5 are insane I’m glad I’m not getting rid of my 2020 sr5 xp ever!
😂 the price is wrong! 🤣
Jeff is definitely the karaoke king at the local pub
CZcamsr are buying this trucks for the most part .and some people that have a lot of money .as for me ... I'm priced out
Do they both have the credit card style key as well?
Where are the Tacomas with steel wheels? Or did Toyota cancel the steel wheels.
In 1998 I bought my first house. It was a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bath that set on 30 acres.
We paid $55K for it. When we sold it 5 years later of course we made a profit on it.
I will Never pay more for a vehicle than I paid for my first house. Vehicles drop in value, so you loose money on it every year, whereas real estate makes you money.
2021 tacoma paid off keeping and love my truck, these new ones cost too much
These trucks are worth about 35 tops. Toyota has lost its mind with this pricing and also TRD Pro pricing (65k)!
It’s worth what someone will pay for it, and consumers are paying msrp and even mark ups
To sum it up. Hurry up and buy the third gen 23 before they are gone
Those 5’ beds are worthless.
We actually use our truck for work so a 6’ bed is mandatory
Compared to 3rd gen these trucks look hideous. How did we get here? And the price? NO.
Simple the SR doesn't come with oil cooler or as large or intercooler s? De-tuned engine and rear springs vs coil springs. The one exception is the manual transmission that still comes with higher output engine.
The SR only tows 3500 pounds . The SR5 tows approx 6500 pounds big difference .
🎶Torn between two lovers, feelin like a fool Jeffrey🎶 😆
i have decided....nissan frontier!!!
💪🏼💪🏼
Yes! These yotas r basically a gm. Not jdm I believe the engineer will be fired bc of lawsuits
Eww
@@alyx2yonde301 that’s what I think about you.
You must like spending time at the repair shop 😂😂😂😂
Is SR5 inside bigger than TRD Sports
I'll pay $50,000 for a V8 Tacoma.
And the ALL NEW Tacoma still has the same old Gloomy Grey or Death Black interior colors that became popular in 1990 🤢🤮🖕🏽
Under 40 k! Nice
First
You did it!!
How they stole toyotas name to badge it over a GM domestic body is beyond me. Its not JDM what they have n Japan & SEA. R different engine configuration. Good luck selling'em. Ruining a tride n true reputation. Sell'em hard! Sell'em!😂
You seem suspiciously passionate about this.... Like maybe you have something to lose if the Tacoma does well?
@@ytj22 I don't understand your speculation & assumptions. I'm japanese by blood & I love my toyotas. If you can't understand my message I'm conveying besides your assumptions that's my fault. If u want 2 support crap quality that's not produced in japan or asians countries that's on u!
Both overpriced trash
