    • @skippythetubrat
      @skippythetubrat Před 6 měsíci

      Get two 100mm long threaded rod - M6 x 1.0 thread pitch. When you take the assembly apart, pull the first bolt while using your other hand to maintain pressure on the air box (keeping the gadget and gasket sandwich firmly in place). When you have the first bolt out insert one threaded rod and screw it in until it is finger tight. Repeat the process for the othe bolt. Now you have two temporary studs in place, making reassembly a breeze.

    Great video. Thank you. Actually did carb clean out and rebuild before watching video. Went pretty smoothly. My problem is starts cold on first or second pull and runs fine. Plenty of power. However, after I shut down for a minute or two will not restart unless I let it sit for 10-15 mins. Looked up parts and Honda shows a long pipe like “ fuel filter” however I cannot find it on my unit. Was going to change out the fuel pump. Just not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  Před 4 lety

      You may need to pull the jets out individually and clean them again. You may also have a valve clearance issue. Check the choke as well. The thermostat which connects to the exhaust may be worn out. They lose tension as the age and won’t work like the intended

    I have done all the same carburetor cleaning on my pressure washer like the one in your video but now I got it running and it just stopped running. It acts like it’s locking up, preventing you from pulling it over. I took the recoil starter off put oil down the cylinder but it’s making a metal to metal sound? Oil level is fine, could it just suddenly take a crap like this 🤔. Nothing ventured nothing gained!

    I have similar model GC160 pressure washer. i cleaned carb, it starts on first pull but if i let it sit for 12 hours, it takes like 6 pulls, not sure if fuel pump is defective, meaning it is taking fuel back from carb to tank .. or it could be coil. or it could be carb.. not sure what it is.. any clue or tips will be helpful. it has new plug, non ethonol new fuel.

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  Před 6 měsíci

      The fuel pumps going out on these are really common. You can find aftermarket ones on Amazon for cheap. Your coil is likely fine. You can always pull the plug reattach to wire and found the plug and check it that way for spark.

  • @Jimigunneful
    @Jimigunneful Před 3 lety

    I just got a replacement gc160 carb from amazon. I noted when I removed old carb that the bottom of carb bowl has a clear tube that just goes straight down. It wasnt connected to anything. How can that be? And the fuel pump has a 2 in. third curved hose that wasnt connected to anything. But that black hose from fuel pump and clear hose from bottom of carb surely dont go together. I dont know what that fuel pump hose is for.....fuel return from carb maybe? The other 2 lines on pump are certain where they go. They were to carb inlet and fuel tank. And on the new carb from amazon, there is NO clear fuel lin at bottom of bowl, or even a nipple for one! So is this essential.....did I get a carb that wont work with this engine?

    • @hanksgarage_

      Sometimes you can free them up by soaking in a bucket of white vinegar if the corrosion is really bad.

      Ok thanks for the help

    • @kennycybertron1
      @kennycybertron1 Před 5 lety

      They make a "cable lubricator" that allows you to spray lubricant, via a fine nozzle, down inside the cable and you then can work it free. Personally, I just soak mine overnight in PB BLASTER in a butter tub and the next day, you can break them free.
      I've never used vinegar likevHank said but I will try it soon.

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  Před 5 lety

      You can use WD40, PB or vinegar it will all do the same thing. But yes in a bucket. Im pretty sure you can get PB in a gallon jug. I know you can with WD40 but I said vinegar due to price comparison it’s far cheaper. Both will dissolve rust and corrosion just fine IMO

    • @hanksgarage_
      @hanksgarage_  Před 5 lety +1
