The drive on I-90 from Sioux Falls to Rapid City is beautiful and everyone should see it, however not in the winter!! LOL
So many stories of blizzards, ice, crazy wind...the drive in late Spring (when the grasses are green), summer (when the crops are growing) and early fall (when the sunflowers are in bloom) can be amazing if you stop to appreciate the views. :)

I was born in Sioux Falls back when it was a third of the size it is today. Spent most of my life living and working in Chicago and got fed up with the politics and tired of the heavy traffic and just too many people. So I moved back and am much happier as a senior and a veteran, with a much better VA hospital here.
Glad you found your way back. It's funny when I talk with people about our traffic...and they are like, what traffic? LOL
Going to SD again in April and planning a trip for both cities and trying to figure out which is best. Already fell in love with Rapid City area but wondering if more jobs in Sioux Falls. PERFECT TIMING. TYSM and PS I fall in line with all of SD values. ❤🇺🇸

I'm not gonna argue with that! I love being in the Hills, on a trail in 20-30 minutes or enjoying all the different activities. Next weekend is the Nemo outhouse races! 🤣
Without a doubt the most beautiful part of the state is out west. In fact I think South Dakota is one of the most beautiful states in the Midwest. The areas around Rapid City look prosperous and it’s a beautiful city.
Wow that's quite a statement! We certainly love our Black Hills. The prairie has its own beauty as well.
Me too. I have fond memories driving through to get to Washington while I was on active duty. So much that after 25 years I want to go back to stay. Best part of the United States ever I had seen. It’s beauty has never lost my heart. ❤️
These comparisons are old posts. Things change a lot in two years, especially in Sioux Falls. I never seen as many big apartment buildings built in these past two years as I’ve seen in this little city, and I’ve lived in some very big areas, like Chicago. I believe the population is growing much faster then the 6,000 a year pace that’s recorded. The east side of the city is booming more then the south and west sides. The landscape east of Sioux Falls is more attractive because it’s hilly with thick woods along the rivers and ponds.
Oh yah - alot has changed in 2 years - especially housing prices, growth etc. Things like weather and what we love about our cities remains the same.
Things have changed in real estate lately. As a buyer I am looking forward to 2022

I made this comment on Ramzi's post, the housing inventory is more versatile SF than RC. More house per sq ft. RC's housing market seems very limited.
Yes that's seems accurate. SF has 3x the population so more opportunities, etc. And with the demand in the Rapid City market, the options are limited and getting sold quick, driving up prices greater than I've seen in my 15 years. 🤷♂️
Great vid! Also from what I have seen in the property markets for both cities is that SF has a better value for money when buying a house between 150 and 200k. Is that true in your opinion?
I can't answer that with full authority, but I that wouldn't surprise me - bigger city, more homes, more availability kind of thing. 🤷♀️

Who gets the most tornadoes RC or SF?
East River will have a greater tornado danger. That being said, we had a couple of unique ones in the Hills the past few years. 🤷♂️. Generally speaking, I'm not too worried about tornados in Rapid City. But be sure to watch my weather in the Hills video for more info.

What about Brookings
Brookings is a college town just north of Sioux Falls. Has everything you need - good schools, groceries, hospital. Nice little city from everything I've heard. And when you are looking for more shopping, SF is under an hour away.
So, with Amazon coming i'm guessing your governor caved on protecting women\girls sports ?
No she didn’t, and anyway why would Amazon have anything to do with that issue. They maybe liberal but they aren’t stupid. Also North Dakota is building the same kind of distribution warehouse and I don’t hear about their governor selling out for favors.
