Kool Keith is one of my favorite emcees ever! I missed Ultramagnetic but I caught on when he dropped Black Elvis the I went back to Dr. Octagon and I was hooked! He’s so unique!
Kool Keith is so hands down the most creative “artist” in the truest sense of artists in HIP HOP!Keith planted the seed that went on to grow into the legend MF DOOM,the Wu Tangs & so on.Is he the greatest HIP HOP artist of all time?He has to be in the top 5 without a doubt IMO

*pointing* Thas ya'll he's talking bout btw lol. Nah but seriously, i watch every Keith Turbo interview I come across. Never heard him talk about writing like that. He is 110% correct. Physically writing on paper- a singular and essential activity. Involves awareness, imagination, knowledge, motor activity and the optical/visual. Since he is writing poetry, include also, auditory/musical pathways. Basically using the entire brain; staggering complexity. i saw a video where they had brothers rapping in the 1940s so them bronx niggaz lied they didn't create hip hop when its been around way before 75 n then 40s brothers was from the south .
Hip-hop, as the electronic sample-based genre that it is today, and its culture was born in the Bronx in the 1970s. Rap =/= hip-hop, the same way that singing =/= rock. Nobody denies that rapping's been around for ages, the origins of rapping can't be pinpointed for that reason.
Technically you could call "scat"(a rapping form of singing,which accompanied jazz/big band music)an early form of rap,but rap/hip-hop Did start in THE BRONX in the mid 70's
