A more thorough explanation than the other youtubers. Which is what some of us need. Thanks for the hard work!
You're most welcome! I'm happy to do it. I really enjoy digging below the surface on these types of things and hopefully, providing enough info that anyone can learn these types of mechanics.
@@Grifflicious ye thanks
@@Grifflicious that's amazing bro, I learned breezi flick just by repeting for like 6 months in freeplay, the movement is easy but the ball control needs some practice
This is an absolutely masterclass tutorial, thank you for making it. I’ll be sure to point it towards some of my viewers/students
Awesome! I appreciate it. Thank you
earned my subscription 10 fold with this one. I've been practicing this flick on my own for about 4 months before this, and my current record is 122kph with this technique, but I'm VERY happy to see someone talk about it and explain it. In all fairness, I just tried to recreate what mawkzy was doing without fully understanding it, your video covered the gaps in my knowledge and will surely help me :) great video.
That's dope to hear and thank you! Glad to have you.
Amazing man! I've recently also been grinding and finally beat 123, I got 127.88 somehow It has to be so perfect above 120 anyway.
@@Grifflicious hey man, do you know if this is possible on keyboard and mouse? ik this video was sent 10 months ago but if you do see this pls reply. I'd appreciate it a lot
I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of these tutorials!! They are amazing work and I really learn something for once🔥
That means a ton to hear! Thank you so much. I can’t wait to get more of these done!
First time watching a video from you, and I basically NEVER comment on videos. Very, very well-organized and paced video. No nonsense, just quality information portrayed with the just the right visuals and commentary, and small touch of non-intrusive humor, and a calm and easy to understand voice. Don't know how many hours it took you to put this together, but bravo.
Thank you so much! I’m stoked to hear this. I try my very best to just teach what I know. I’m not here to make money. Just make the game better for players trying to learn it.
This tutorial was AWESOME. I've been trying to learn this flick for a while, and overtime I've started to intuitively (and from watching mawzky) pick up a lot of the things that you said here. This tutorial put everything into a clear, concise video and I've already seen insane improvement on my consistency and overall understanding of the mechanic. Thanks so much :)
You're most welcome! I'm glad it can help you.
yo cheetahh
Great tips on checking the circle on the ground for the optimal placement, helps me become so much more consistent ! Thanks!
You're most welcome! Glad it could help you!
Quick and easy sub! As an older player (40+) you have an innate ability to convey difficult subject matter into very easy to understand bitesize pieces to digest the material at whatever pace an individual is learning at. Sign of a true genius! Very much appreciate you sharing your gift with the player base and I’m absolutely certain your corner of the internet will explode if you continue to churn out content this valuable.
Thank you so much. It means a lot!
He is 40+ and this good in a game like RL? Damn , you always hear that above 20 pro competitive players are considered old which I always found weird , this guy shows that you can be damn good in the game no matter the age
@@davidkosiba624 In games like Counterstrike , Apex etc its true that if u are older you are generally a bit slower than younger folks BUT in a game like RL its not always about thag hyper speed like with aiming its so much more knowledge and mechanics as a whole
Thanks for posting this - as a lowly D2 I've had trouble doing flicks consistently because I struggle finding the "sweet spot" on my car. Your explanation of looking at the rear wheels relative to the ball indicator helped a lot - I was able to hit 3 flicks in ranked yesterday!
The depth, the visual mechanics, the explanations, the slow-mo's. This is how I learn best, thank you!
You are most welcome!
So I figured this out by accident this week whilst trying to learn 45 degree flicks 😅 the video was really helpful to understand what’s been happening as I was confused AF! Next stop… aiming them!! Great video!!
That’s dope! Thank you and I hope it helps you.
greatest rocket league tutorial ive seen, still crazy helpful now
@Grifflicious - You're my new favorite RL CZcamsr!
After dozens of videos on air roll, and recent questions about this mechanic, I was astonished by the quality, uniqueness & potential impact of your videos.
I LOVE how you break these mechanics down piece-by-piece so you can actually train for muscle memory!
(frustrating when a term is thrown around with zero understanding / or intentional omission until you pass the paywall...)
I haven't trained mechanics in over a year, but with these simple, logical & trainable progressions -- how could I not give them a try?!
You have saved me loads of time, and added value to a game I already love. The least I can do is like, sub & comment.
Thank you! 🙏
Even though these 2 videos will likely keep me busy for months, I'm looking forward to your next tutorials!
Thank you so much! I’m stoked to hear they are helping you and you enjoy them! I look forward to making more and having you along for the ride! Here’s to making Rocket League better.
I’ve been watching RL videos for like a year and a half and this is the very first time someone has broken down the sweet spot like this thank you.
Thank you! Finally, a tutorial that's more than just "Air roll a little, then flip." Great stuff.
Thank you and you're most welcome!
Dude this flick tutorial is 🧑🍳💋 and I’ve needed it for years. Tysm
Hands down one of the most comprehensive tutorials I have ever found for Rocket League. Absolutely what the community needs
Thank you! I have more coming!
Can't really tell you how much I appreciate your channel. I don't know if other CZcamsrs just don't want to give up the sauce, or maybe they're bad at teaching, or think we're all too stupid to get it, but you shoot straight, and man... In the last couple of months, you've fixed my air rolls, taught me to flip reset, and now the prettiest and fastest flick in the business. I've always loved to watch mawkkzy play, just because it's so impressive to see what he can do with the ball, and I'd tried and tried to emulate something like his flick, but after watching this video a few times, slowing it down and working out your button overlay, I got a 117km/hr flick and a 114! So pretty! Really appreciate you and the work you do. 🎉
Thank you so much for your comment! I truly appreciate it and can't tell you how happy it makes me to hear people learning from my videos. I'm really stoked for you!
I really love your content Griff. I'm an OG rocket leaguer and if you'd been putting out these tutorials years ago I swear you would have saved me 1000 hours of freeplay failures. If I could sub twice I would
So i cant be the only one thats been learning this thinking i was just doing a normal 45, right?? This is still an absolutely phenomenal tutorial as always though. It always helps to thoroughly understand the ins and outs, and nobody does it like you
last placement tip is so valuable. really u are amongst other youtubers the best mr tutorial !
Thank you so much! I really appreciate hearing that.
Okay i'm a bit late to the party but suriously thank you so much! I've watch so many tutorials and never got the technic right, but with your tutorial i got it in under 30 min with consistency!
I would avoid tutorials of gimmicky flicks, never associated much value to it but I am so glad I gave this video a chance. Your presentation style was delightful bro.
definetely the best mawkzy tutorial , you explained it better than mawkzy himself xD, great work
Thank you so much!
that highlight on the subscribe button when he said to subscribe is what got me
I find that people discredit other tutorials too much, Rocket League has so many great resources to improve and we should not take them for granted. Having said that, that just shows how exceptionally good this tutorial was, well done!
Thank you so much. It means a lot to hear.
NO WAY BRO, I DIDN'T EVEN THINK TO USE THE BALL INDICATOR LIKE THIS!!! you continue to amaze me friend. these little details are helping me progress!!
Thank you. I do my best lol
bro. idk why i never thought of looking at the ball indicator once the ball was on top of my car. thats a golden nugget of info. thank you for this video
Ive had a bad run with controllers getting stick drift. So my flicks have been on the backburner. Saw this tutorial 7 months ago. So i figured id go watch some others. None compare to this one. Top teir. Deserve far more likes and subscribers.
7 years of rocket league and ive never considered using the indicator circle to know if im at the sweet spot... Tx
Absolutely the best, rocket league mechanic tutorial i've ever viewed! Thank you for producing this very well detailed tutorial!
You and AppJack are the only ones that actually take the time. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Still trying to speedflip consistently. Lol
I don't know that I'll do a video on speed flips specifically, maybe if demand for it grows, but I will probably do a video on kickoffs in general and will certainly include that if I do.
@@Grifflicious I hit gc not long ago and i can instantly do the motion of the speedflip, yet I'm still horrible at kickoffs. I personally would love to see this type of video on them :)
@@jurgenzijderveld9291 it’s on the short list of upcoming content! I look forward to having you come back and check it out!
@@Grifflicious That would be a great video, too. Thanks for the help! 🤌🏼
My new Favorite RL CZcams channel. I love your explanations. Super great content! Keep up the great work
FINALLY someone mentions the ball indicator! That was always easier for me when dribbling. Helped me improve a ton!
Your explanation on the positioning of the ball circle increased my dribbling to flick success rate from like 50% to 75% lol
First one I saw and clicked, got it in down in a about 20 mins because of the way you explained it! Thank you for this!
Glad it helped!
wow! this is an amazing video 100% earned my sub! im just getting back into RL after a couple years and im around d2 purely off game sense and basic mechs trying to learn some simple but effective mechs to take my game to the next level and in 10 of watching the video and practicing with it im sitting around 90-95 kph on my flicks! THANK YOU!
You have managed to create an informative, understandable, and concise video getting across all the information you needed to. Great job and keep up the hard work!
i just want to admit that the ball indicator tip helped monumentally with ALL of my flicks, i subbed 🤝🏿
Hell yeah! Let’s get it. Glad to hear it.
I'm really glad I found this video because I can sort of already do the mawkzy flick but I don't know how to repeat it if I do get it so thank you for this incredibly in depth tutorial
You're most welcome!
hey, first of all great Video. I rarely write comments as im more of a quite listener. But man i like your style of explaning in these videos. I am studying sports to become a teacher, the reason why im saying this is that you can clearly see your good understanding of how people learn. And you build so much into your explanation and further training tips. I could write many examples but i think you get what i mean.
I think i can speak for many hear when i say: This is the type of explanation that many searched for. AND THANK YOU. Really appriciate it. Keep it up.
I really appreciate hearing that. I also went to school for education. While I didn’t finish and pursue teaching, I still held on a passion for it. Saw rocket league had some gaps people that I felt needed filled and I’m just trying my best to help out. I’m just stoked people are enjoying the content and learning things about the game.
I swear it’s always the French players
Fr😂
Best teacher hands down, professor grif!❤
great tutorial i got it at the 10 min mark while watching the video, very informative
Wow. Searched for exactly that flick. Didnt find a Tutorial. Nice!!!
Perhaps you can make one other Tutorial about Flip reset. Would be nice. And Tricks for consistent Dribbling? Best Tutorials Out there!!!! Thx
Flip resets are next on the list, actually!
very informative content, I look forward to bingeing your channel if you have more mechanic lessons delivered similarly to this
I have learnt how to do the mawkzy flick before this however not so consistently. this has really helped me to improve that though. This video was very good and greatly explained, going in depth in all of the factors which make up this flick.
You’ve earned yourself another sub
Thank you so much.
You have a great presentational talent, a good voice, good way of speaking to make any sentence sound interesting. This is a skill that you could use well beyond yt. Wish you good success my man, u have what is needed to make it work
Wow, thank you!
i've always been pretty good at dribbling since 2017 solely because of the circle ball indicator, and im always surprised that not many people even talk about how useful it is for balancing the ball and learning how to.
First person I’ve ever seen that uses an identical button layout to me. I use square as boost and for a while found it difficult to perform certain things until i learned how to press square and x at the same time
Granted of the 500 hours I've played this game I've put about 350 hours of dribble and flick practice in but 5 minutes of griff's training pack after watching this vid, it feels like my 45 degree flicks on my bad side are pretty much unmissable. A bit slow to call them mawkzy flicks but 85km/hour + is good enough for me. What a sick video!
Thanks, man! I'm stoked it could help.
Thank you for this. I've been having alot of trouble with flicks and this has helped me immensely. Well deserving of a sub!
Thank you and you’re most welcome.
Thank you❤️❤️❤️ After 27 minutes I hit the first over 100 kmh mawkzy flick (104) . Ball was a bit too far away so it was a rather flat mawkzy. But I‘m happy. Diamonds are now scared of me
this is the type of tutorials this game needs. Rocket leagues mechanical skill gap is hitherto undreamt of. There is no way I could even come close to hitting this flick cleanly even once without dozens maybe hundreds of hours of practice.
You really do make the best tutorials in RL, thank you!
You’re doing an amazing job on these tutorials. I found your air roll tutorial the other day and immediately had a break through. Keep up the good work!
Also, consider a career in teaching (as a consultant, for a business or something so you can actually make money… unlike school teachers 😢)
I really appreciate that! Thank you. I may one day but Rocket League needs my help first lol
perfect video! i was able to get it consistently after 5 tries insane that i know almost all the flicks but it took me this long to figure this one out
holy cow dude i like you. you take explaining a mechanic to another level.
its like a you did a doctor on "how to explain mechanics " .
well thats a subscription and the bell thank you for this video.
Thank you so much and you’re most welcome. I try and explain it how I understand it and I’m glad it’s resonating as well as it has.
This is insanely in depth. Even if I don't master this, I appreciate the work put into this!
Thank you so much! I try.
Amazing video from a criminally underrated content creator. Just liked and subbed!
Thank you so much
tysm for the video. I never trained flicks, only trained stuff from the side wall like airdibbles, flipresets, celing shots. (1800 hours free play) after i made every step for 10 mins i got my first 112 kph flick ^^ . Thats a great feeling. Gotta keep the grind goin now.
Hell yeah! Glad to hear this helped! I hope I can continue to make videos that also help out.
yes!!! i told you last night in your live that your air roll vid was very helpful but one mech i would like to get a breakdown understanding is on the air roll while air dribbling i can like push it sometimes while spinning but you see others moving there car perfectly and hitting it in precise spot where the air roll carry looks effortless if you could one on this it would be very helpful and favorite rl creator by far my guy keep up the good work and thanks again!!!
Thank you so much. Actually, I have a video on this already! Check out the one right before this one. I think it might be what you’re looking for if you haven’t already seen it.
@@Grifflicious i think i have but ill double check thanks
I tried to break this down myself like 6mo ago and got surprisingly close, but severely lacking. This is SO helpful. Great work
Thank you so much. Glad it can help.
Well you just gained another sub, I need all types of tutorials like this one... being a champ with awful mechanics I feel it's time I started training properly instead of spending countless hours playing and training randomly... Thank you!
You're most welcome and thank you for the sub! I have many more planned so I'm stoked to have you!
Although I didn't need everything you said, you still helped me do the flick, I like how in dept you go for the people who need it. After I watched this, I was able to do the flick in about 3 minutes. I don't know why I was able to, but it might because I was good at air roll.
Thanks for the great tutorial! That first shot in the training pack is awesome. 👍
power hack: hold jump for and extra half second to get your larger jump while you get car in position to flick. keeps your roof stuck to the ball and will give u crazy power on your flick.
This is correct. I didn't mention this due to the fact that I was specifically looking at Mawkzy's technique which keeps it low and quick, but you're totally right.
I just know this guy would always get an A+ on his papers, great video, very well explained
I was a horrible student lol. But I gained a passion for writing and education in my early 20s and even went to college for it. I appreciate the kind words!
Lol i thought I was doing the 45 degree flick this whole time but turns out I'm actually doing this exact flick. It gets so much power and easily catches your opponent off guard
Just discovered your channel like yesterday so this was nicely timed just wish you had more RL content bc your tutoriala have been more helpful for mechanics than anyone else ive watched so far annnddd...ive watched a lot of them
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad to hear these videos are doing well. I have a lot more RL content planned and I want to tackle as many of the advanced/popular mechanics as I can to the extent I believe they should be explained in order for anyone to learn them. I felt that way when I figured out air roll and now it's become my mission to touch on as much as possible until I run out of ideas lol.
THANKS GRIFF, good timing! spent the whole evening practicing my flicks, time to add another one
Hell yeah! Lets get it my dude!
holy shit man tnx i saw this flick in some showmatches and have been tryna find ways to do it i kinda understood the concept that he was backflipping cos the 180 was the fastest but never knew how he went into that position so quickly.. i managed to hit on in like 10 minutes thanks man imma practice this shit and get more consistent
Dope! Glad to hear it helped.
Underrated CZcamsr frl
Your tutorials are top tier man.
It's worth waiting for your RL tutorials. Thanks!
Bro this explanation is so good!!
I liked and subscribed!! Thx a lot
ive chosen this flick as my special move as once you get decent at it, you can shorten the amount of time it takes to pull off by quite a large amount. even if you're hitting 100kph and not 100+ its so deadly in the lower ranks. (anything below gc2)
Mon bro t’as juste une manière d’expliquer qui surpasse tous les autres ! Si seulement j’avais eu des profs comme toi à l’école 😂
Merci beaucoup! Cela signifie beaucoup.
well, this is really what i've been looking for tysm
You’re most welcome!
quick tip is the same motion could be done while the ball is rolling to get a luther flick
As a gc1, this was still pretty helpful I am ngl. I never thought of the ball indicator as nothing more than a feature used by lower skilled players.
Not all heroes where capes I suppose lol. Glad you found some good tips!
@@Grifflicious Yeah, I have even had it turned off but now I'll use it. Thanks for the detailed explanations.
@@theoofer478 you’re most welcome!
If rocket science taught mechs.
also insane training pack 🔥
Thank you so much. I might actually throw a few more shots on that pack one day but it has the important bits to get you going.
Another great tutorial. Excited to grind this out
I look forward to seeing how you do with it!
Oh man! Another amazing vid! Thanks a lot!
Just hit 71 mph (114 kph) on my second day of trying and it felt amazing, spent another 20 mins chasing that feeling but couldn't get it again lol. But thanks for the awesome tutorial, hopefully I'll be able to get it more consistently with more days of practice
Hell yeah! Keep at it.
GOT IT AFTER 10 MINUTES GREAT VIDEO
For those struggling with this, I reccomend 110 fov, 110 Height, 260 distance, -3 angle, 0.6 stiffness, it helps wayy more than you would think
One thing I would have added would be not going supersonic. Your flick turns the ball supersonic, but as for dribbling aspect if I'm going top speed I find it impossible to flick. As the ball is going to fast to catch up to during the flick attempt. Just an inch to far. Very near supersonic is the best. As far as I know anyway. Maybe it's possible but I haven't found a way as I'm only mediocre at flicks.
Very great tutorial by the way.
Thank you. It can actually be done both ways! It really depends on where the ball is resting on your hood when you jump and attempt the flick. Like I mentioned, I found that moment just before it would feel like the ball would roll off towards the front of the hood was the best time to jump and setup the flick. It keeps the ball close but allows for high speed and slight spacing to flip into the ball.
@@Grifflicious cool. Great to know it's possible. Thanks for the breakdowns. I have basic dribble skills. But flicks are super inconsistent. This video will for sure help. Really like the slow mo so I can see each thing that happens in a blink of the eye. My flicks go high, so their good for passes (usually to the opponents when my team isn't ready 🙄). This will help actually score. Hahaaaaaa.
@@scottmitchell9901 "Teammate I sent this flick off the back board for you to finish easy!.... oh... well... i guess it was important to go 100% of the field away for corner boost too."
@@cmdrfunk exactly. 😂 even when I quickchat "passing" they don't expect it

You're most welcome and thank you for the kind words! I have many more planed and I hope to get to them relatively soon. Holiday break set me back a bit but I've been fired up to get back into it and the response I've gotten so far has me stoked! Flip resets are next!
Satisfying stuff incoming!

thanks for this. my flicks are currently 80-90kph, this will help me take them to the next level

Great job explaining! You earned a sub for sure
Great explanation.
You deserve a lot of subs for the effort you put.

Already working on it!
subbed! great video!
