Sixers lose Game 6 thriller to the Knicks; season comes to an end | PHLY Sixers

- The Philadelphia 76ers fought until the end against the New York Knicks in Game 6, only to fall at the buzzer, 118-115 - putting a lid on the Sixers’ 2023-24 season. Joel Embiid battled throughout to finish with a team-high 39 points and 13 rebounds but it wasn’t enough to get Philadelphia back to Madison Square Garden for a Game 7. Knicks All-Star Jalen Brunson finished with a game-high 41 points and hit some big shots down the stretch in the fourth quarter to help them advance to the second round.
Buddy Hield scored 20 off the bench, knocking down 6 of 9 from deep - Nic Batum added 16 with Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre chipping in 17 each.

I always loved Devon rich and Derek, but was pretty skeptical of Kyle coming into this new sixers coverage. Kyle has come a long way. He started off as a pretty monotone guy with little personality trying to find his way but man he’s done such a great job recently, just want to shout him out. I see the growth, love the whole team and am excited to see the future of phly!
Embid can now rest his bad knees by starting his summer already. Guess he didn't keep his promise of beating the Knicks.
Please just don’t talk about how the 76ers are the better team, that the refs affected the outcome, or that if Embiid was healthy they would have won. This time the Knicks were the better team, they won. 76ers played good, and tough. They never quit.
As a Knicks fan, I respect your honesty. The bottom line is that the Knicks, without their 2x All-Nba, 3x All-Star forward Julius Randle, really should've won is series in a gentleman's sweep. The Sixers are very good, but the Knicks are just better.

@draftmagicagain1000 Agreed, both these teams will be radically different and probably much better next year. The Sixers have lots of cap space to improve, and the Knicks have tradable contracts and tons of first round picks to trade for another big star. Should be fun battles between these two teams for years to come. 👍🏾

All I hear is sixers were unlucky, they were hurt , bla bla bla… we are without Randle and now our best bench threat bogey in these playoffs… half the season we seen a roster overhaul with 4 starters injured or traded … we are resilient af
The sixers went through a lot worse, nearly an entire roster turnover at the trade deadline, at minimum 3 starters were out for weeks at a time injured, you guys were the second seed and that's mainly because the Bucks had Doc at the helm. You are not made of whatever haphazard nonsense the sixers are made of.

Pj Washington? Malik monk? You have to think better than them tho. Embiid has to do less and the team has to be able to win without him. Those 2 guys do not help that happen. The team needs basket getters. 3 level guys who when chased off the 3 , or just having the ball in general can drive and finish . At least one of the guys we get has to have a high scoring ceiling. Meaning they can score for 15-40 on any night and it’s not uncommon. I from office should look more at miles bridges . Can’t bring in any more sticking spot up shooters or barely average scorers. Next bigger contract they add has to be a 1b/ 2nd option type dude.
Sorry, but you got to remember also, pj washing goes cold for games, as does monk. So what do they do when that happens? Nothing. They barely score and rely on everyone else. We’ve had too much of that. I’d take one of them, but we need a much better scorer. This guy has to be able to dribble for his own shot and finish at the rim.

Knicks fans do not hate Maxey, props to him for that shot in game 5. We don’t respect Embiid cause he plays dirty not caring if he hurts other players & ends their careers.
Sixers fans do not dislike the Knicks players. Fun team to root for - pulling for them (and gambled on them before the playoffs). Their fans on the other hand, constantly begging for Embiid to be suspended during an incredible series, was remarkably soft and embarrassing.

Embiid another game with juvenile antics in a loss caused in part by his horrific turnovers. Loser mentality.
If he had a loser mentality, he wouldn’t played. He could have just said I am hurt and not played in the series. Yes, the turnovers were bad. But we don’t know how much his vision was affected from the Bells Palsy. People always complain about his injuries. I’m sure he isn’t breaking his own face or falling on his own leg. There are excuses and then there are facts. The man plays with masks and big heavy braces and people still trash him.

This was an incredible series and I know everyone wanted it to be seven games. Knick fans wanted none of that smoke. Two coaches dipped far into their strategy bags for this series and there were counter punches thrown all series. Much respect to the stud Maxey, and though Embiid did some really disrespectful shit, I admire him not making an excuse of his issues. Lots of players could learn from his heart. The Sixers need help outside of your duo. Harris and Lowry being in the starting unit hurts more than it's been mentioned. Next year you will be right up where you need to be and we won't see each other in a first round series like this. Hield showed up bigtime in this game and almost swung this game in your favor. Props to the team and it's fans.
Everyone saying they wish it went 7 games well you can thank the Refs for blowing game 2 and thats a fact ! Also Tyrese Maxey is a goddamn star and for some reason this man drives the ball to the basket and gets hip checked every damn time but can't get a single call! But Brunson can grab are guy's arm and pull it into him and get a fucking call its disgraceful.
I don’t think you can point to game 2 anymore considering Maxey got away with a travel on his 4 point play in game 5. Still hell of a series and Maxey is unbelievable. He definitely gets a questionable whistle when he drives to the rim

@@satiricalzero well you can make the same argument that the Sixers could’ve easily just grabbed the rebound on Divincenzos miss, but all 4 of them decided to stand around and let Isiah Hartenstein grab an uncontested rebound. Trust me, there’s levels to this
