Robert Plant wrote this after they had toured Iceland- it was a homage to their hosts Viking heritage.

I think this was filmed at a football stadium in Australia, maybe Sydney. The song is about the Viking invasion of the British Isles, and the singer, Robert Plant was famous for wearing the top of a groupie from the previous night. So his shirts were all flowery and were too small for him.

The song was used in at least these movies/TV shows: "Thor: Ragnarok", "Shrek the Third", "Life On Mars", "School of Rock". Maybe more that I've forgotten about.

The verse, “How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore, of how we calmed the tides of war, we are your overlords” suggest triumph and dominance, "fields of green" likely referring to the British Isles. Historically, Vikings started invading the islands around the 8th century CE.
