If someone told me all this would be possible using a phone back in 1996 I would have laughed. I used to do home recordings with a single cassete deck and cheap microphone... This is pretty amazing. Btw great overview video. Simple and straight to point 👍
It's amazing, right!?

Did you do much ping pong recording? I still use that method, despite the horrible quality.
@@andthoseotherguys Sure! To lay down some guitar solos mostly. A couple of friends I know had a fostex 4 track recorder and I used to think 'wow, this would be really handy!' For anyone who didn't have a multi track, ping pong was the way to go. I know what you mean about the sound quality :D
*"I think it's important to catch inspiration while you have it"*
This is the quote that made me comment. You're so damn right about it, this is why I'm watching your videos in the first place. I'm looking for composer apps which help me catch the rhythm, melody and riffs while I'm still inspired. I lost a ton of great songs in my mind throughout my life because I didn't have the skills or the tools to somehow get them out of my mind onto a sheet or recording.
It's the "...while you have it"
How blessed to kno that bandlab is free😭💕

I always wanted to try making music but I don't like using laptop or computer that much and I didn't think that making music in my phone was possible. So, I almost give up then I found this and I'll try it. Thank you💜
How is going?

Awesome tutorial and advice, thank you!
Although I found the links to your equipment in the bottom of the description were lacking much information and somewhat misleading. You say an item is called something, yet it's listed under a different name or a different piece of equipment entirely.
Hey thank you for taking the time to explain these things. A couple questions, what is the plug/jack you have plugged into your phone? Also, do you have a suggestion on where I may find a inexpensive DAW? Have you had bad experiences with buying gear at pawn shops? Nice track. Great explanation and motivational as well. Thanks again! I will be making more music!
Thanks you so much! This is helping me!
Keep going Carlos!

Question: What was that setup that you used to record your guitar output to BandLab?
Guitar > cable > interface > phone
Thank you for sharing this. I write songs as a hobby, always wanted to record them but didn't know where to start. Happy i found this. 😊💗 This is amazing, and your video is very easy to understand.
EXACTLY what I was looking for as a Noob, great job, thx.
I have so many songs written but my band isn’t doing anything[trouble with bass players & guitar players, just me (lead singer) & our drummer] but I didn’t know how to record anything without them, so thank you! [Not leaving the drummer, just wanna get some songs out, especially since people are wary of joining a band with no songs...]
You have the power!
Great tutorial, brother! I’m gonna use this to teach my students how to record themselves on BandLab. Concise. Funny. Informative. 10/10. THANKS 🙏

Thankyou for your tutorial
Thanks for the overview. I'm a beginner and want to dive deeper into being an orchestral composer.
Awesome video man, very informative...I'm having trouble with latency issues. I'm using Bandlab on a laptop. The virtual instrument's have really bad latency issues and I cant seem to fix them. I've not plugged any instruments in yet as I'm just using the keyboard to play notes and to record drums. Any ideas of how to sort this would be much appreciated. Thanks 🙂
Android kinda throttles sound processing or at least puts that far far behind on the list of prioritized processes 🥺
If it's bugging, they are working to fix it. Try processing again, that works for me.
You have a nice speaking voice and a friendly demeanor. You're great to watch.
Thanks for the mini tutorial. I watched a great video on how to use BandLab on PC but i have it for android phones and it's way more confusing on a smartphone.
I've been working on my vocab and dropping track's for year's now, finally in a space of making my own beats and work my first Studio Album. Thank God I found this video cause I'm using my phone and this is so helpful. The process is difficult but fun because of this video and the passion I for the art. Thanks brother, definitely coming back after I drop my first 🔥
I liked how you chopped down the timer in different sections. It's good to see how much effort you are putting in content. 😇
Had a question : Whenever I fork the audio track posted on Bandlab or when I import a track in bandlab, I hear this loud static in the background. It's like my mic is on. Does this happen usually or like my earphones are trash?
Hey! I think that monitoring is probably enabled in your case? Try turning it off and see if that helps
@@jivers thanks man... You are right about that. It automatically enables when I plug in headphones. Got it✌️
Nice!
Rajat! Thank you my friend. Yeah, I started putting timestamps in my videos. It's a great feature.
Im 33 started making music at 11 and I love bandlab just don't like how people try to promote their selves on other peoples music. #SHINESTEALERS
We all like attention, some more than others
Thank you. You have helped me more than you know.
Thank you so much!! This really helped me 💖 now I can make some songs
Hi, I'm currently using bandlab (android) and i just want to ask if there is an option where i can record my vocals without recording the music or metronome?
For example, whenever i record vocals,it's obvious i have music for me to sing to right? But whenever i record, the mic/app also captured the music and record it resulting a overlapping sound from the music and the vocals i recorded with music.
Thank you for answering in advance!
You just need regular headphones with a mic if your on a budget, I recorded my voice once and it was incredibly clear with the mic. Hope this helps :D
My module brought me here, ahhhhh, Music 10, maybe Bandlab will help me to produce what i n3ed for my module. Hope i can do it
same and it's embarrassing
My module?
We have to make our own music and i happen to saw this video, my teacher said i did great, im really happy, thank you for making this tutorial. 😊

I just now downloaded this app and thanks for this video it helped me so much as I really wanted to make my own music.
You got this!
Thank you 🙏
So I like making music with only my voice. I use my voice for all the instruments and have many audio layers. However, whenever I make a new layer on top of an existing audio layer (track), it doubles the first audio creating a weird echo. I'm not sure if that made sense as it is a bit difficult to explain, but do you think you know how to fix that?
It sounds like the mic is picking up the sound from your headphones. Closed back headphones are what I recommend for that.
@@jezwinski Alright, thank you so much. I really appreciate it!
Hi there.
I have a question. when i record a guitar with my external interfacce It record the mentronome to,how can i solve this.
🙏Thank you
You made good videos.
Use headphones to not capture noise from the speaker
I just watched this for a project ty
You're so talented, I wish I could do it too.I was composing some lyrics and trying to do some beats /melody but I'm too bad 😭.I hope I could chat with you soon! I want to learn more!
Thank you! I offer music production lessons, that might help.
Hey I want some advice! Whenever I start creating music, I get the initial beat for the song using creator kit,but after that I don't know how to take the beat forward...any advice?
You can either build vertically by adding tracks or build horizontally by adding structure. Most importantly, build.
@@jezwinski Is there a video for that exactly why I'm Stuck trying to add more layers or instruments
Awesome video thank you
New to bandlab vids appreciated
I still can't believe that you only have 18.7k subsribers. YOU DESERVE A MILLION SUBS, MAN! Thank you for this! ❣️
Thank you Brix! We are all on a journey, it's best to roll with it and find some kind of enjoyment on the way.
@@jezwinski 🧡🧡🧡
How do I change the speed of a beat without changing the speed of the vocals?
You'd want to make sure the tempo is set to be faster or slower than what it presently is, prior to recording, because if you try to change the tempo after recording, you'd need to timestretch the audio clip, unless you are working within the framework of a midi file rather than a mic/wave file. Midi rocks because its so configurable with editing a source (if its a midi-based source rather than not) pre and post mode.
Aye I'm wishing goodluck to all the other small artists out there. Praying for y'all to blow up one day 🙏
I am used this its so easy and good to adjust everything
perfect for me to make music like lakey inspired lol
Ok, the most important question: how do you connect everything to your phone? Seems like a simple question but I don’t see how I can connect an interface to my
Phone
Yeah that's my question too
Like I said, an adapter will most likely be needed
Thank you brother 🥰
Thanks, this will help me with snares and others
When I record everything it sounds fine but after im done recording my beat sounds like its faster than my recording
