Just a quick note be very cautious the paper on the light is a fire hazard please be careful only cause if the room catches on fire insurance will not cover due to you guys placing it on there and knowing it’s a hazard
Be careful with the lights, they can catch fire! When I was little I did that and thank god we stopped the little fire before getting out of hand

Olivia is so creative, she is amazing! Bonnie I love how you spoke to Boston about colouring on the rug, you know exactly what to say, I believe the way you stay calm and speak to your children like they are humans allows them to learn a lesson rather than learn how to defend themselves or get upset. You’re inspiring! I do agree that the paper over the lights is a fire hazard, although I’m sure you planned to take it off before it got too hot. I just had to mention the fire hazard because unfortunately my town had a devastating house fire which took the lives of 7 children, ages 3 months old to 15 years old. Our town is so deeply saddened by this event. Please pray for the mother and father who survived the fire.

Watching you redirect Lincoln makes me feel better as a parent because my 3yo gives me the same silliness. Also love the shower idea... my oldest is phasing out of naps and into quiet time and nap time is when I shower. I will definitely try this.

I like the colors explanation. Even though you don't have to explain anything.... My kids are the same. My daughter (that shares a birthday with Olivia!) loves her girly colors. My oldest boy loves everything! Pretty dresses, fancy button up shirts, shiney shoes, curled hair, pink and orange and blue and purple... He's just a lover of all things. But my youngest boy loves his boy colors.. Blues and greens and orange and baseball and football. But I have never once told them they can't, so they just do!! I think it's amazing seeing the difference in all the kids even though the parenting is the same throughout.

I get frustrated with Lego's too, Bonnie. I'm glad someone else feels that way. I love seeing your children's creative projects and the look on Boston's face when you 'mention' his coloring the carpet is absolutely priceless. What a little cutie he is !!!!
Bonnie and Joel are in their 30s. I doubt they would let Olivia keep paper over her recessed lighting if it meant the whole house would burn down. I GUARANTEE that Bonnie and Joel discussed the safety of this before letting her either keep the paper up OR made her take it down. Also, Bonnie--keep doing you boo!

I completely agree with your statement about the “girl colors” and “boy color” situation. It is so disappointing that you even have to explain the situation because you shouldn’t have to explain that at all. Just because your kids like different colors, people shouldn’t get mad at that🤦🏼♀️. And you are completely correct when you say that you don’t want to force the boys to love girl colors, people shouldn’t get mad. Think about it, if you did do that people would comment that you shouldn’t do that. Anyways I hope you see this so you know that I agree with you💕

As a child got a little older, they sat just outside the door with the door a tiny bit ajar so we could talk to each other and hear each other the whole time. Those light covers are used in some classrooms and work places. However, the deflector is a lot farther away from the lights.

I shower after the kids go to bed because I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. My 2 year old would flush everything in my cabinets and drawers if I tried to get him to watch a show. He may even flush my phone. Who knows? 😂

Bonnie a lot of grocery store sell rug doctors so you can clean your carpet/rugs, it works great and it is super affordable to rent

That’s great that Olivia has done that. But you really need to be careful as paper is extremely flammable when it gets to hot. Why don’t you look at getting some plastic heat protective circles & get Olivia to either colour them with various coloured sharpies or get glass paint 🎨 & colour them. That why she can have any colour in her room. Without being a fire 🔥 risk.

Hi bonnie, i love ur video!!! Something i would do if i was in ur shoes is keep a eye on is those pink papers over olivias light. Those can catch fire sometimes, i know somebody it happened to & i just want u guys to be safe. I am not 100% sure where to buy colored filters or colored bulbs but i am sure if u look online they might show where to buy them. Its worth checking into. I do love that pink tint to the room. Sometimes tints & dim lights help with migranes, anxiety & autism. I put a dimmer switch in my room for that reason. I know from expirence that they help me with all 3. I am nervous admitting that cause people tend to treat me negatively cause of it. But i know u wouldnt treat me like that cause ur hearts like really careing & super nice so i am ok with telling u. I love that box fort too, i might make one for my cat camila. She loves boxes & litrle places to hide & play in. I might try that next time i have some boxes on hand. You are wonderful parents and you are raising your kids with Christian values. Some people don't like that, but it's not their business. Don't feel like you have to defend anything. Hope Olivia's lights are LED and even if they are that is a MAJOR fire hazard, maybe change a few of her lights to pink.
Joels parents seem like such down to earth, living life day by day type people.
I never get to do anything without my kids wanting mommy especially with my 4 month old I have to wait till he’s asleep and as soon as the water is on I hear screaming and have ask for help or just wait but I love my boys so much love being a mommy
