    Looks pretty cool mate. They must have faith in their filter if they're giving a five year warranty.
    Looking forward to seeing how you customise it and what you think about it after running it for a while.

      I think the mechanics are ok not keen on the multi holed system or the mag system but again time will tell think i might build my own

    I have had this filter running 2 months on my AquaOne 145 litre aquarium and it's perfect for that. I run it in spray bar mode with some surface agitation. The magnets to me are a great upgrade on infernal suckers and as the filter is designed to float you get a good strong attachment when in the water.
    I upgraded to Seachem Matrix and I suppose other bio-gravel media would also be an upgrade.
    Being able to detach the filter body from the motor magnet leaving the powerhead in situ and carry away to the sink is a real bonus. Just a shame it's all so fiddly to disassemble and clean.
    I think it's an excellent filter overall. Thanks for another great review, loving your channel.

      I too think it good but requires a little changing to make it great first feel that all filters need to be full removed when servicing this is just my thoughts so you can clean everything out the tank next the large one we have here easily comes away from the motor magnet even when the fish hit it as for Matrix its a good media its just white pumice stone i used in Bakki filters years ago but very expensive for that but a great choice ,,,i am going to make my own filter for the 240 using house filters but fully customizable with anything you want to put in it

      @@AQUAGUYUK I would always prefer the external filters, unfortunately for me I have difficulty working in the cabinet under the tank ( age issues) so I swapped the external that came with my cabinet aquarium for this Shark filter, It's so much easier for me working at the higher level.
      I get the white pumice stone comment, had my own aquatic retail outfit for years, but for the small amount I needed it was easier to buy a small tub of Matrix. I hope you do a video on your own filter for the 240, that would be really interesting.
      Thanks again for your interesting channel.

    I have been running 2 of these in my 180ltr 4footer, tbh they are really powerful (mine are anyways), infact its way too strong and i have to lower the flow on them to practically the lowest setting or it blows my fish and plants around like a tidal wave.
    Unfortunately i find it all a bit too fiddly for me, the magnet on the head is also not strong enough and the thing wobbles around with the slightest touch etc, ive now given up on this certain tank and replacing it all with a Juwel Rio 240, its sitting in my Garage waiting for me to do the big change over lol

    • @AQUAGUYUK
      @AQUAGUYUK  Před rokem

      I also think that flow rates are high for amount of media plus think this would only service a 120 ltr tank for said amount they the flow should be lower the shark advance is a better bet imo but for larger tanks external all the way for me and i am going to make my own to test out practical ways to achieve it

      @@AQUAGUYUK After using it on my 145 litre for a while now I too find the power of the pump to be OTT but on the plus side there is good adjustment with the knob on the top which is easy to access. I've had no problem with the magnet system in my 20" deep but any shallower would, I believe, be a problem as it needs the buoyancy of the water for the magnet to hold well.
      What I have found and along with Aquaguy's doubts, with both sides being slotted all the way up there is no 'draw' to the filter as there would be if the water was being drawn to a smaller section. The result is, even the smallest debris is circulated around the tank and is not pulled into the filter chamber. This tank, although clear does have a slight hue whereas my other tanks with different filters don't.

      magnet goes through the glass and on the back to be honest its not that good of a feature

      I totally agree and will always recommend external simply 3 reasons first they are out the tank second they can have more media and cleaning performance and of course they remove the debris and muck from the tank i am in the middle of building or constructing my own system for that reason
