I'd just use blackout curtains. That way you're not actually doing anything to the window itself and you can open the curtains for more light.
I'm impressed that you got all the fish back into their homes since the move. Good job guys
Enjoyed your singing at the beginning there John. Appreciate the update on the fishroom, and we enjoyed the video, per the usual lol, and definitely looking forward to your guy's process of changing up the tanks! You guys are going to have a busy summer/lifetime of awesome projects ahead! Thanks again for letting us join you guys on your journey!
Carl is adorable. Does he go with y'all from building to building, or does he guard the fish? The fish room is starting to look nice imo. Things are always a big, chaotic mess after a move, but it's taking shape. â€ïž
A little bit of light oil on the cutter and only one firm pass with the cutter.
Dont go over the line again as will skew off as it did.
Love the show and wait each week for the update
I wonder if the clear uv coating tint would eliminate algae caused by the windows but still allow the natural light in.
So happy to see you guys turn that place into your new home! Thanks for always being real.
Also, pretty sure the intro is my favorite part. Had no idea John Hudson could sing.
You two have made a lot of progress. You have plenty of time to get things in order and I look forward to seeing the changes over time.
Great Great video but remember, it's not a fishroom, its ye old fish house now. Second on ripplesnakes suggestion of blackout curtains so not to alter the windows, but that much light might became a problem. Thanks to you and Lisa for sharing this adventure with all of us.
It's looking good! You aren't an idiot! You have done amazingly well moving all your fish & getting settled into your new home. Nothing ever goes as planned. Blessings! †PS I love the kitty! â€ïž
Cat was a rock star. As a stain glass person: the hard parts are equal pressure with the cutter at the ends...and there are special pliers I use o clean up the ends...Could use dremel to sand down edge. We can't all be serpadesigns, cutting aquarium glass perfectly. Good day in Ye Olde Fish House!
Loved seeing you "supervisor" helping (no, NOT Lisa), Carl! We have 5 "supervisors" at our home. Supervising humans is a tough job so they too spend most of their "down time" sleeping too. I'll keep watching as long as the cats stay in the vids ;-).
Hi John! It is really amazing what you and Lisa are doing with your new acquired property. I'm an avid aquarist and I have been doing this hobby for the last 50 years. I'm also a passionate gardener. Thank you for all the advice and help you provide to your faithful viewers. In this hobby there is always something to learn. I can't wait to see the final, complete transformation.
Youâve accomplished a lot in your fish room. Looking wonderful. So much space. You should always get into the habit of applying safety first by taking all the necessary precautions before starting a project especially with you being a CZcams influencer. You have a lot of viewers watching you and Iâm sure this can be a learning lesson to the younger generation. Wouldnât want any injuries on someone or yourself AND I wish you would stop calling yourself an idiot.
Gd mrng from CT! Love that you are so genuine, but stop with the negative self talk!! You are not an idiot, you are humanđ. The barn is coming along nicely and your kitty is beautiful. I would love to come down for a wknd and volunteer to help with whatever. Looking forward to the filter review! Keep doing what you and Lisa dođ
Here in the uk we have juwel tanks. I have a juwel Rio 240 they have a built in bio flow filter a bit like the shark pro . You can swap out different sponges and bio media and even get bigger motor propellers for bigger water flow . And as itâs all in the tank no leaks and it even houses the heaterđ the juwel bio flow m is what I have check them out . Loving your fish room
Love your channel! Thanks for all the content - you and a few other creators on CZcams have definitely revitalized my love of fishkeeping! Also really enjoying watching the progress you are making. It may seem really slow and like things aren't happening as quickly as you'd like, but from where I'm sitting, it's amazing progress!
Are the water parameters in the new house very different from your old place? Or does it not even matter because you use all RO water? Or what's the story there?
Glad to see you are finally following the stocking suggestions on aquarium boxes everywhere with the goldfish in the small tank!
Again, thanks for all you share!
The fish house is looking great!! you've got a lot accomplished in a short amount of time....it's exhausting but worth it ...Have a great day!
just got into the hobby and while its so addicting its a little overwhelming, theres so much to learn about beyond the fish and the water like there are so many different kinds of filters and learning how they work and which is the best for you same goes for heaters and air pumps and filter media, and then theres the plants...so many plants, its kinda hard to know where to start especially when your watching youtube videos and people talk about these things like you already know what they are... so like, wheres the best place to start when learning about aquarium accessories and "additions"
I concur with blackout curtains for the windows. It will help with temp stabilization as well. It's fun to see your progress! Remember, one step at a time!
Anyone know where I can get the water hose quick connects from? (At around the 7:13 mark he grabs it with his right hand)
You guys have given me so much knowledge. I made my own 3 stage filter for my HOB because of you guys. My Betta Slimer is happiest boy every. His friend Ecto-1 the snail does laps most days. Jacque the shrimp shows up for food. This is the best I have ever had a tank going! Thanks for the videos guys.
Carl is a starâïž Itâs always nice to have supervision from our master catsđâ⏠I got me some bosses that help me in my fish room too, your new place is looking great John and Lisađđđ»
TX for all the info. And both of your love for your fish and their care. So much help forme and my little tank and bata!
You should have a look at the selection of window cling-films. You can get stained glass, or clear prisms, or all sorts of patterns. It's very easy to apply, I used some on the back of my fish tank too. I couldn't believe how many options there were!
I am so excited for you guys!! Your new place looks AMAZING!! This was a huge move for you and it is going to take time⊠but it is already amazing!! The property looks insane!! Relax, take your time, and ENJOY!!!! Maybe by the time you have your betas available again we will be ready for ours!! Taking my time and researching big time before we get a tank!! đŽâïž
Howdy. This may have been said before but if you break the small, difficult bits off under water, the cracks spread much slower and you can get a cleaner beak and snap off smaller bits.
Just removing the boxes did a huge glow up to the room, and looks amazing. Your work and dedication is inspiring. Thanks for taking the trouble of recording and sharing everything to us
Seeing the before video will really make the after that much better. Will not say done as houses and tanks are never really finished.
Carl is being a typical cat. All the beds and sleeping on the box.
There is the joy of when the move is over, then the realization hits that everything needs unpacked and put away. Sadly this takes longer than moving.
What is Lisa planning for the porch for the fish house?
You never fail to keep us entertained with another amazing episodeđ
i want to see how you are powering all those tanks in that old building.
With the money you saved by not finishing the floor in your fish room, you could put into making a nice one or two-tier racking system. You would have a nice uniform look to this amazing fish room and possibly house even more tanks.
Wow! Great work! Of course you have a Helper Cat there to âsupervise.â
Wish I could be there to help! I love tedious tasks and working with my hands! Best of luck on the fish house
Love how real it all is man. Sure the tank may look nice, but often the room itâs in isnât the cleanest or most organized! Love it!
Itâs looking good. Love your kitty. My first cat use to love to sleep in the sink. LOL.
So much fun to see the progress. I've said it before, but I'm so happy for you two!!
Could the 900 be ok for a 50g to replace my Canister? im worried about all the good bacteria id lose from the canister, this one cant hold much bacteria.
You need to tap the glass with the ball on the end of the cutter before you snap the glass.
Love this style of video John! I remember you saying in the live stream that you were going to be iffy on it but itâs good shows fish keepers behind the scenes of setting up a fishroom/tank maintenance
Love your new place itâs coming along really nice when are you guys going to do a live I have a slime problem in my tanks and itâs killing my fish and I canât keep up with it Iâve tried everything I got a UV light in there I change the water every couple of days I donât know what else to do it looks like snot what can it be
Stay in the fish house Carl đ€Ł Making good progress. Looks like tons of space in the new store. Very cool piece of history đ
Great Video John and Lisa! It was super great to see the evolution of this fish house. Carl is like my cat (RB) who also always sleeps in random places! đ€©đ
You could sand the that pc. of glass with some wet sandpaper, it will remove the sharp edge, but good job cutting it and again congrats on the new property
It was a great attempt to try to save a piece and it appears it worked, with a little bit of tweaking. Great job John.
Looking forward to your review later on the pro I love the no Suction cup doesnât seem like theyâre anywhere yet. Also the larger of the three I understood it was 10 watts?
The Old Fish House is looking good! You have made a ton of progress and Carl is adorable!â€đ„°
Ha! I said basically the same thing with farm more unnecessary words!!! đ
Let us know when the betting begins on the âno fish tanks in the houseâ rule and how long is that _really_ gonna last. đ
team kg tropicals another awesome video guys love the way the fish room is coming along keep filming everything love all content John great job with the fish room remember there's always going to be something to do such a big place but that's okay slow and steady wins the race keep up the great work guys see you on the next one
I'm exhausted just looking at all the work that needs to be done! đ” Keep it up though, it will look amazong once it's finished đđ
Great video. How many electric outlets do you have in fish room. We are going to be building a fish/cat building.
Thoroughly enjoyed this upload! Had me LMAO a few times there... I can see so much potential in this place... It's going to look absolutely AMAZING! I wish you and the Mrs. much success Brother! Thumbs up from me as usual... Stay safe... Rico
When can we expect the shark pro to be available to buy?
đđ Enjoying these vlog style videos. (Opening shotâŠdonât quit your day job đ€) Ye Old Fish House coming along great. Know youâd want it done yesterday but take your time, setting everything up is half the fun. đ
The fish barn is starting to take shape. I see Carl is like my cat, has to help, well maybe supervise LOL. Next time you try cutting glass use some mineral oil and wipe a bit where you're going to make the cut. A belt sander with 80 grit will make quick work on cleaning up all the edges of the glass.
Did you lose a Bicher?!? I thought you had two in the Oscar tank. Thinking back you may have mentioned itâŠnot sure though. Loved the video! Everything is coming together great! On a side note, I love my ADV filter I have, glad to hear the pro is great! đđ»
Hey John did you know they do make glass pliers? Well they do. Look it up Charlie AKA Dismas
I'm mad jealous of your fish house.....it's pretty epic.
Another glowing Shark Pro review and I still can't buy one. I love everything Sicce but the way they've pumped this up for a month now and I still can't get buy one kinda sucks. I have 3 ADV now and I want to through them away for the Pro just for the mag mount. The ADV suction cups suck. I have 2 of my ADVs tied to lid of their tanks cause the suction cups don't work anymore. I need the Pros something fierce. Maybe one day I can actually buy one.
What a great place to live. Looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing the progress.
idk what kind of substrate you plan on using but the bichirs look amazing on a nice garnet sand
Nice progress so far! thanks for keeping us along for the ride. :)
John I am absolutely happy with you guy's being open and honest with all your friends and family that loves you and Lisa, I love you guy's đ like my own family.
Its cool to see where my stuff comes from when I order.
Donât be too hard on yourselves! You just moved and have plenty of time to get everything the way you want it. As long as the fish are health then take your time and do it how you want it. Itâs going good as far as I can see.
Now that you've had it on for a while, when do we get a more in depth Shark Pro review? I want to see how well the spray bar works and what your thoughts are after having it run a while.
John the room is turning out AMAZING!!! Good on you! đđœ
Beasts....you two are BEASTS!!! đ„đ„đȘđȘYou can accomplish anything together.
Fish room is looking good! Your super hard work is paying off. Great job. Gina Hetlage
Another great show great to see things a little jumbled ,but getting it together.Charlie AKA Dismas
That was a nice little catch up video John and Lisa. I really enjoyed it. Keep âem coming!!!
đđđł
Those goldfish sure were happy to be moved into that big tank!
Work in progress videos are just as great as finished project videos! Thank you!
I've dropped this comment a couple times but, in streams where there's 47,000 people talking and asking questions, you might have missed it... or you ignored it. Either way, I'll say it one more time here.
This is what I did, so there's no reason why it shoukdnt work for you too. You can save yourself a little (maybe a lot) of money if you
A. Have the hinges from the broken lids still and
B. There's a glass company nearby.
All you need to do is get the measurements off one of the non-broken canapies and take them in to the glass company. They'll cut pieces you need and you'll have brand new lids without going through Custom Aquariums who, while very good at what they do, are also very expensive... unless they're just going to gift them to you. If that's the case, then disregard this entire comment đ
Or disregard even if that isn't the case.
You're John Freaking Hudson! Who am I to tell you what to disregard and what not to disregard đ
Its cool to see the progress you've made in This Old Fish House since the move. I know you keep calling it a disaster in this video but, as a fellow keeper of fish, I can ignore the mess and see the vision. There has been a tin of progress.
And Lisa! That Betta room!!! đź Girl, that's gonna be something special right there!!!!!
It's nice to see your gorgeous yellow labs again.
The intro made me smile
It's looking good for all the work you all have! Your cat is adorable!
Itâs starting to look good hope you changed them hoses that where leaking on them tanks
i loved the shark but yeah all the issues you mentioned made me decide to upgrade to the tidal 110
Title 110 I find it to be very noisy and I had a lot of trouble with it backing up quite a bit I went to sponge filters
Great job!! Love your videos, and John your NOT an idiot!! Love you guys!!
i can't seem to find the correct money pit channel so I can subscribe, can you link it please?
You've made great progress in the fish room đđ
@1:11 same here bro. If you don't get what I'm saying I'm a Carl as well đ
Awesome reflection of sunlight on the ceiling.
Nice work, very exciting stuff
Blackout Curtains will work, canât wait to see the fish đ house/hut done â
Build or purchase a catio for Carl...he'd love it!! I have a big one for my cats...there's companies on your area that I have them
Loving coming along on this adventure with you and Lisa - awkwardly put, but you know what I mean đđ
Love the way the warehouse looks!
Carl is the best
I hate when that happens with a glass, almost, but no straight line... :D
Now we just need an og John Hudson album, ma man killed it in the beginning đ
That is a voice of an angel! It's like a combination of Fergie and Jesus!!!
Is a black dragon plakat fighter the same as a black samurai betta?
Holy smokes John you guys got tons of work ahead but youâve done a lot blessings to you and A Lisa big time.Wish I could move that fast in real time John lol
Once again, another magestic video, keep it up buddy!
Hey viewer from Portugal! Hope everything is doing good! I've got a question, dont know if u'll ever see this comment but here it goes, where do you buy thoose mini-tanks for your bettas? or do you do it costum?
Nooo he didn't sand the glass edge off đđđ€Łđ€Ł We gonna get another video about him cutting himself with that lid
You guys have done a ton of work .I couldn't have done it for suređđ»
I really can't wait until I can buy a big tank or when your fish house is done.
That place is great! Nice
