- The Pro's Closet caught up with Chris Chance at the "Mountain Bike Hall of Fame" in the spring of 2015. In this mini-doc, Chris describes the early days of Fat Chance, the forces that pulled him away from the bicycle world, and the passion that led him back!

I still have my old Fat City Wicked from 1992 that I bought brand new. Ride it almost every day and will never get rid of it. Thank you sir!!!
Just recently picked up a 1990 Wicked in great shape. When they talk about a magical feeling with fat city cycles, i now get it. It puts all my other steel bikes to shame. The balance and feel of the bike is unreal. He was a revolutionary figure in frame building.
had a wicked fat. someone stole it. bought a yo eddy, put all xtr and a manitou fork on it. loved it. stopped riding it for years. sold it to some guy on craigslist. he drove up from philidelphia in a snow storm. thought that was odd, then I checked online after. I sold it for too cheap!
I am so excited just ordered a Yo Eddy for my51st BDay Thank you Chris
Always wanted a yo! Now I can finally afford and get one. Thanks. TPC
I still have my monster fat. it fits me like glove, and it's great on the trails.
Still got my Wicked Fat Chance I bought in 1989. The painter had quite the imagination with red, orange and magenta. Only complaint is the bottom bracket bearings. They are pressed in and do not last more than a year or two depending on how much I ride and if it is wet and/or muddy.. Would love to get a new Yo Eddy but my old back cannot handle a hard tail.
I love my 1982!
Awesome bikes and a stupendous man!
I have always thought of Fat City Cycles as a premium brand and have always coveted one. I'm so glad they are back! But I want a return of the Shock-a-Billy.
🤘🙌
Very Cool Chris!
I’ve got a Wicked Fat Chance. It came with a Ritchey fork, but it still rides.
Hey Chris. I grew up in Somerville. My first mountain bike was a dyno. I thought it was the shit. Till I got on a fat chance. I had a problem with breaking bikes. Bein an active fat kid. Drops off of loading docks. Or ridin down the stairs of prospect hill.
I bought a Wicked from Chris Chance it was his secondary bike at the Quantico bike show and expo in Quantico Virginia.....
I loved my Fat Chance. It still is my favorite bike I've ever owned. I rode my across the USA in 1985 and will be having a new one built shortly. In fact. my company The Dandy Horse, Inc.
hopes to buy several of them and allow people to demo them along the Empire State Trail #empirestatetrail
Killer roller cam on the front brake.
That seven speed rear cassette looks interesting, what make is it, Sachs-Aris? It's hard to tell.
What r u waiting for Tinker and his Klein or Cannondale
Always wanted one but bought the grease they made and I could afford at the time
Top man
Super FRESH.......
how did i know my fat chance was a really good bike after years of riding it? my girlfriend at the time got on it and was riding around and said 'this bike feels really nice'. Full rigid setup keeping up with full sus bikes on some of the trails
i stll have my 1992 ALPINESTARS ALMEGA -DX
Dents in stays are definitely a weak point. They don't handle twisting if hi low chainstays.
FAT CHANCE I could afford one...
+CrazyCyclingVlogger i know what you mean. will have to start doing the lotto i think.
