    Much excited for the neuroanat series 🤟🏽
    Now, answers to the Qs:
    1. First one - Ganglia contain the cell bodies or soma of the first order sensory neurons while soma of the second order sensory neurons are present as nuclei within the CNS, with one exception; probably 5th in line within this series... the mesencephalic nucleus of Trigeminal.
    2. For the parts of ethmoid... first there's a cribriform plate; then 2 extensions from the middle, one up and another going down... they would be Crista galli and Perpendicular plate of ethmoid respectively. And on either sides there shall be 3 to 4 rows of ethmoidal air cells. Ethmoid would also make portions of the nasal conchae and definitely the bony parts of nasal septum...
    3. Amphotericin B and Azoles; they are cell membrane inhibitors, targetting Ergosterol. One would inhibit its synthesis while the other shall sequester it... Need to brush up on these...

    Ganglia inside CNS - Basal ganglia

    • @MoldMantle
      @MoldMantle Před 3 měsíci +4

      The “basal ganglia” are not actually ganglia, but nuclei.
      Modern texts actually refer to them as “basal nuclei”.
      The former terminology is considered outmoded and inaccurate.

    One correction:
    CN 1 is SSA and not SVA.
    SVA: CN7- carrying taste from anterior two-third of tongue
    CN9- carrying taste sensation from posterior one-third
    CN10- carrying taste sensation from epiglottis

    And my guess with ganglion in CNS: retinal ganglion cells?

    Hello Sir
    Personally, I'm not technically a medical student but fall under biomedical science degree category
    (Were I live, we can study medicine straight out of secondary school but I didn't make the cut so I decided to go with a biomedical degree first)
    Because of time and the curriculum of my degree, I can't watch all of your videos as I don't do some courses you teach (That will change hopefully when I start my medical degree)
    Anyway sir, where I'm going with this is to say thank you and even though I don't watch all your videos, I just wanted to let you know you are very much appreciated sir and If chanced, I would watch as many of your videos as I possibly could

    Hi Medicosis, thank you for your videos they have been helpful in my medical journey. I have a question, you mentioned after SVA, SSA and you said special sensory afferent but sensory is same as afferent. Isn’t it supposed to have been Special somatic afferent? If no, please enlighten me so I'd know why. Thank you for your response 😊

      Both are correct! Different books use different classification terminology. I've talked about this in later videos in this neuroanatomy playlist.

    In the "Autonomic nervous system" video, in the third minute you said that there is no such thing as "autonomic sensation", but in this video you said the opposite
    Was the statement in the 1st video a mistake?

    • @MedicosisPerfectionalis
      @MedicosisPerfectionalis  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yeah! The first video was a mistake…I corrected that mistake in a subsequent video in my physiology playlist. The truth is that autonomic can be sensory or motor. Thank you so much for being so attentive.
