  • This Space Engineers gameplay shows building my Welder Ship and Scout Ship. I also talk about the use of Connector, moving to the Ice Lake for Hydrogen fuel, and touch upon the Projector. This Space Engineers video is a Space Engineers playthrough in an entertaining let's play style series, played in Space Engineers survival mode, and is peppered with hints, tips, and bits of Space Engineers tutorial (or Space Engineers guide) advice. This is played in the Space Engineers Broadside II update and with almost all the Space Engineers DLC content, but no mods.

    Atmo thrusters loose thrust the higher in the atmosphere you go, that, added to the possibly overload situation you had created probabally was the cause of the "grounding".

      I wondered about that, but it felt very strange, and I even noticed an odd thing in my scout ship. I seem to be able to fly at a reasonably high altitude (all atmo thrusters), fly level and do perfectly fine, and then as I approach a large mountain, I suddenly begin to lose altitude. Once I starting getting past the mountain, I can gain altitude again. It's almost as if gravity increased as I flew near the mountain (even though I really don't think that's the cause). Any thoughts?

      @@Oearth I've had the same problem numerous times in my miner ship when it's fully loaded. The ship is more than capable of carrying the load and has enough batteries so as not to cause an overload on power draw, but when I head in a direction at max velocity (100ms) the ship doesn't respond to elevation input until it comes to nearly a complete stop in said direction. It happens sometimes also with the jetpack when heading towards a hill I will press the spacebar button for up thrust and nothing happens but luckily you can point the character towards the sky and he will then move in that direction, but with the ship the directional thrusters are not powerful enough in my case to help with elevation. I personally think there is a physics bug related to certain situations.

    Thanks for this series. It's been interesting watching the perspective of a new player as someone who has played this game for many years now. I look forward to your continued adventure.
    Just something that I noticed was that your wind turbines on your base are stacked together, there is an efficiency decrease the closer they are. I think the distance for no interference is 7 blocks but I'm not sure (it will say in the terminal the efficiency which height also affects).
    It looks like you may have realised this as some are more spaced out, but I missed the first few episodes if you mentioned this already.

      You are 100% correct @Infrared Wolf - they are only "good" and not "optimal", but decided good was good enough for this starter base - you'll see improvements in the next episode! Appreciate you following the story - I'm really digging the playthrough and just absorbing everything rather than speeding through. The game is really good!!

    Usefull tip: Connectors can be set up to react or not react to using "Parking" mode "P" key :)
    You have might unparked your transporter to fly somewhere while the connector holding scout ship unlocked too :)

    Any plans for a space engineers multiplayer server?

      There definitely is! I'll be making a special little video announcement about that, and it will be an open server with a planned mix of collaboration and faction rivalry between Pirates and Citizen, with a couple 'ground rules' to ensure it's fun or everyone. It will probably be a little time before that just yet, but I've already spoken with some very solid server hosts/admins that will be sponsoring the server.
