    Don't have polarity button on my PRX speakers. Would it be main/monitor?

      @AskWilliam  Před 3 lety

      If you have only the tops, yes it would be main/monitor. Only the subs have the polarity button.

    I have prx 735 used mainly for my personal use or house party. I use a tablet or laptop to play music. My speaker plays for a few minutes and cuts off the light flashes red I turn off then on again but same thing keeps happening. Why is this happening?

    • @AskWilliam
      @AskWilliam  Před 2 lety +1

      When it comes to red lights and JBL it usually means one of 2 things: 1) Your battery is low or depleted or 2) A firmware crash Seeing that the PRX 735 does not run on a battery, my feeling is that the firmware on the mainboard is crashing your speaker. The JBL PRX has been discontinued for quite a while now. But I'm sure if you make a post to their support site you should be able to find a solution.

      I suggest you install the JBL controller app on your mobile device or tablet. I know you can trigger the font light an the speaker through the app to see which speaker you are configuring. I might muted by accident .. If all else fails .. factory reset .. If you still have the same problem, you will have to take it to a technician.

    Do anyone know if prx speaker and sub have auto off?. Please advise thanks

    • @AskWilliam
      @AskWilliam  Před 2 lety

      There is no auto power off function on the PRX 800 SUB, just an option to turn off the LED light in the front. The only way to turn the unit ON/OFF is to use the power switch located on the back.

    I'm having problems with the PRX815 I think the amplifiers I really trashy they need to go back with crown😣

      I agree 100%, the PRX815 speakers are not set up correctly out of the box. If you put a little too loud signal into them they start to peak and desort. But compared to some of my other systems, this is none of the most rugged and lightweight speakers to travel with. Here is what I do to get the best out of mine. I up my volume till i see the PRX clip at the back. then use a dynamic limiter (I use the built in one on my UI16) to pull back the sound to a save (non distorted) space.

      I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will have to have your unit looked at by a technician. This will be one of 2 problems. 1) Your tweeter is blown or 2) there is fault on the main board located inside the unit. Sadly JBX does not fix any of these 2 parts, a replacement is your only fix.

    Jbl 170 reset?

    • @AskWilliam
      @AskWilliam  Před 2 lety

      The JBL PRX 700 series does not adapt to the room acoustics as the 800 PRX does. There is also not a JBL wi-fi interface app that can manipulate your mix. For that reason no reset is needed on the 700 series.

    Am I missing something, cuz it was they same steps to do a hard or soft factory reset.. 🤔🤨

    • @AskWilliam
      @AskWilliam  Před rokem

      A factory reset will remove all your setup and app settings .. whereas a "Soft Reset" will keep then as they where, but only reset your speakers. Hope that helps ..

      I agree 100%. This is one of the most difficult speakers I had to mix, and desorts very easily. Make sure if you going to get a pair that you get some limiting protection.
