One of my favorite scenes in game of thrones is actually a relatively minor detail between three characters. When Dany was queen of mereen, she sat on a simple marble bench with some cushions on top of it, reflecting her as the ruler but not a vain or corrupt ruler, which contrasts with Hizdhar who after Dang leaves, sits on an intricate dragon carved throne and calls himself the king. After he is deposed by barristan, and barristan “takes control” he sets a scene that I think the show creators took inspiration with Tyrion’s speech of the throne room being made to intimidate the ruled, and him not being their ruler. But I’m the book, Barristan hesitantly takes the spot of hand, and gets rid of the dragon throne and instead of bringing back the marble bench, brings in a table for the councilors to sit together as equals. That’s partly why I like barristan so much. We see that he isn’t great at playing the game of thrones, or has a lot of power, but he is one of the few honorable characters takes power because he was the only one who he knew would honor Dany’s dreams before she returned, and doesn’t charge Hizdhar before he finds proof that he is the harpy

There is a very elegant theory proposing that Tyrion is actually Tywin's ONLY CHILD. There is a story of Ares taking the king's right to the first night with Joanna Lannister. There is evidence in the books that MAY support this. Alot of Cersei's character description involves fire or madenss. Jaime has a few direct suggestions like his dream in the bowels of Casterly Rock where he had a vision of his mother leaving him pondering who he really is. And then that vision is highlighted when Jaime speaks with his aunt in the riverlands, when she flat out says "Tyrion is Tywin's son, not Jaime." She didn't mean it from a perspective of actually knowing, but by comparing his character to Tywin's.

So, the only Great Houses known to have Targ blood are Baratheon and Martell. Lesser but still important houses are Velaryon, Plumm and Penrose. These are the only five houses known to have Targ blood directly by a Targaryen woman marrying into the line. There is also House Longwaters, a minor house which is a bastard cadet branch of House Velaryon started by a bastard son of a Velaryon man and a Targaryen woman. Other houses may have some Targ blood, but it would be through people from other houses with some Targ ancestry marrying into yet other houses. Basically, people in other houses will have some small amount of Targaryen blood if they are descended from women from houses Baratheon, Martell, Velaryon, Plumm, Penrose or Longwaters (in the appropriate generations) or from the six Hightower daughters (with no brothers) born to a Targaryen mother.

Blood is a body fluid in humans and other animals that delivers necessary substances such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transports metabolic waste products away from those same cells.
In vertebrates, it is composed of blood cells suspended in blood plasma.
Plasma, which constitutes 55% of blood fluid, is mostly water (92% by volume), and contains proteins, glucose, mineral ions, hormones, carbon dioxide (plasma being the main medium for excretory product transportation), and blood cells themselves.
Albumin is the main protein in plasma, and it functions to regulate the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood.
The blood cells are mainly red blood cells (also called RBCs or erythrocytes), white blood cells (also called WBCs or leukocytes) and platelets (also called thrombocytes).
The most abundant cells in vertebrate blood are red blood cells.
These contain hemoglobin, an iron-containing protein, which facilitates oxygen transport by reversibly binding to this respiratory gas and greatly increasing its solubility in blood.
In contrast, carbon dioxide is mostly transported extracellularly as bicarbonate ion transported in plasma.
Vertebrate blood is bright red when its hemoglobin is oxygenated and dark red when it is deoxygenated.
Some animals, such as crustaceans and mollusks, use hemocyanin to carry oxygen, instead of hemoglobin.
Insects and some mollusks use a fluid called hemolymph instead of blood, the difference being that hemolymph is not contained in a closed circulatory system.
In most insects, this "blood" does not contain oxygen-carrying molecules such as hemoglobin because their bodies are small enough for their tracheal system to suffice for supplying oxygen.
Jawed vertebrates have an adaptive immune system, based largely on white blood cells.
White blood cells help to resist infections and parasites.
Platelets are important in the clotting of blood.
Arthropods, using hemolymph, have hemocytes as part of their immune system.
Blood is circulated around the body through blood vessels by the pumping action of the heart.
In animals with lungs, arterial blood carries oxygen from inhaled air to the tissues of the body, and venous blood carries carbon dioxide, a waste product of metabolism produced by cells, from the tissues to the lungs to be exhaled.
Medical terms related to blood often begin with hemo- or hemato- (also spelled haemo- and haemato-) from the Greek word αἷμα (haima) for "blood".
In terms of anatomy and histology, blood is considered a specialized form of connective tissue, given its origin in the bones and the presence of potential molecular fibers in the form of fibrinogen.

I never understood why there were at least three Targaryen-Hightower marriages. Yeah, they're probably the second most powerful family in the Reach, but the Tyrells are of a higher rank than them. As well as every other Great House. You could have married the gold rich Lannisters, the food rich Tyrells, or the Tullys who live in the proverbial heart of all of Westeros and make great allies in war. Yet the Hightowers are the most appealing to them.

    • @SantomPh
      @SantomPh Před 5 lety

The Hightowers are rich and rulers of Oldtown, nominally bending the knee to the Tyrells. They are also very political, with members being Lord Commander of Kingsguard, Hands of the King etc
The Tyrells seem to be content with their wealth and status as they also have the largest army.
In fact of the ruling houses of Westeros only Dorne's Martells have actually sent a queen and/or princess to Westeros more than once

@@Kopfschuss87 Can we say that with confidence? The Sea Snakes grandson(son) was of common birth on one side and Velaryon on the other side, and he was able to ride dragons. could for sure be wrong, but I don't remember any mention of Corlys having Targ blood, though it may have been implied. If the blood of old Valaryia is what makes it possible for people to ride dragons, then they should have that part covered. Is it possible they had the blood but not the social status to keep dragons? If i'm not mistaken, the Targs were only one step above the Valeryons status wise, so it seems it may be possible to have the ability but not have the access when it comes to dragons, so to speak.

Well, he's a pentoshi, so he very likely has some Valyrian blood. The pentoshi descent from the valyrian commoners though.

cuz somehow he deluded himself into believing that because you will disorder the king that makes you have the best claim to the iron throne. Mind you Blackfyre could have easily ended up in the hands of a merchant Prince if he had a daughter that aegon desired badly enough. Would that merchant Prince be king then if that was the case?

There were rumors around that Daeron was Aemon the dragonknights bastard. I think his claim is largely based on that, Blackfyre was just a nice touch to his claim.
