- A tragic and devastating fireball explosion sent three teens to the hospital in Utah County. All three were severely burned across their body.

Self-inflicted wounds by kids that never could have imagined their lives could forever change in a heartbeat. Stupidity can be fatal.

Sure did bank on changing that beautiful area for a possible long time, though.

I've helped out on a burn unit, I've never given so much pain medication. Watching wound care on those patients isn't for weak stomachs. Those kids are learning a brutal lesson.
Also, the debridement to remove burnt skin to aid healing, is an agonizing process.😢😢
Where were the "lessons" to guide these kids where they wouldn't be considering such criminal activity? And just a few years away from being adults.

I never understood people brushing off teenagers bad behavior as "just being kids". Even when I was twelve and thirteen years old I never thought doing stuff like that was a good idea.
The key is they thought it wasn't a bad idea.
Sounds like they were vandalizing the spillway and it bit them in the butt. I hope they heal, and they’ve learned a hard lesson.

Burned to bad! charges for vandalism, destruction of property, or endangerment should be brought against all of them. If older than 10 they are old enough to know right from wrong.
There is a perfect quote for them. "If you play with gasoline, you're gonna get burned".
Check each of their phones for the video. I'll guarantee you that they were recording themselves. People cannot resist their dreams of being a social media "star".

Gasoline vapors are no joke. If they poured the gasoline among the rocks or spillway surface, the sun likely preheated the surface causing the gasoline to vapor even more rapidly. As soon as the flame source is introduced, the vapors ignite, causing a sudden, violent explosion.
Wow. What a stupid, dangerous decision. They really should be charged legally. Could have caused a massive forest fire.
My mom was a nursing supervisor in a military hospital during WWII. It haunted her all her life. I remember her talking about one young man under her care who lived nine months before he passed and she was in her nineties. This is a terrible way to learn a lesson.

Wait, what? I was ready to hear about how something exploded and burned them, just to find out they set it themselves? What were they trying to do? I guess the fun was supposed to be in destroying something they had no business destroying. Well, that backfired...literally.
And why would they have doused the spillway with gasoline? One of our first childhood lessons: “you don’t play with fire.” Terrible way to learn it.

Their parents should make a video about this and have it shown every year at school. Teenagers are inherently reckless and need a hard -hitting message about how doing dumb stuff can have a terrible outcome.
I did stupid stuff with gasoline at that age too so l know the temptation.

Those kinds of programs don't work tho. It's like the "shattered dreams" program or "just say no" program. When I was in school two people died in separate accidents involving alcohol literally the same year that we watched shattered dreams.
My friend accidentally set himself on fire playing with gasoline near a campfire. He was in so much pain it was a very scary moment.
I pray these kids make a speedy recovery.

Such a sad situation. I pray God heals them both from the burns and the trauma it caused. Yes it was a dumb thing to do but lets think back to our wreckless teenage years, we played with "fire" too just in different ways.
