If passenger goes late by 1 minute, he is not allowed to check in and have to pay 3000 more rupees for next flight booking. What punishment for airlines if they get late.

100% refund if it is late by 45 mins. This is same as pizza delivery delay penalty.
When you leave a supermarket without paying for something you accidently picked up, the shop will consider it theft. But when the shop attendant overcharges you then it is a mistake!

Delaying for 13 hours is harassment for passengers. Indigo should have canceled the flight or reschedule it. Not justifying beating up the crew but I get where that man was coming from. You can't put passengers on a plane and dock the plane for 12-13 hours because your ecosystem does not have clarity over when the plane will fly. Indigo should teach their crew to be more empathetic and not take people's patience level for granted. Doesn't care if the plane is 15-16 hours delayed. Honest communication, accommodation and empathy works much better than the usual "Due to technical reasons we are making you prisoners in this flight."
It needs to be recognised that none of the crews or pilot have the delegation of powers to cancel a flight or take alternative measures. And they are following SOPs . It is necessary to take the matter to top mgt. Low cost airlines don't ever opt to give compensation.

17:40, I faced the similar situation in Indigo Airlines when I was traveling from Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar in December 2018. I checked in 40 minutes before departure, but they refused to give me the boarding pass saying "you are 5 minutes late". I had some serious medical emergencies. Despite my repeated requests to their officials, they did not consider it, rather I was asked to wait till tomorrow morning so that if by chance any passenger misses the flight, that seat can be given to you.
You wouldn't imagine, I stayed at the airport the whole night. The next morning the thing happened again, what I was afraid of. Next morning when I asked him, he flatly refused and said that there are no seats vacant and you would have to book the ticket again.
To be honest, the way they treated me that day, I felt like slapping one of them hard BUT today I am very proud of that person, he did this.
Any airline should not be allowed more than 35% market share. Arrogance sets in once you dominate the markets.
Seats of Haryana Roadways are much much better than Indigo flights, not joking at all.

Ajeet bhai aapka exprience shyd kharab raha hoga but i can say train services very improved since last few years. Passengers get notified now on there mobile and we can check also train status on railway websites. I can say this coz i m from this field.

I agree with you. This airline behaves like a beggar. How many of its rules are aimed at just making a few extra rupees for absolutely unacceptable reasons..Take the rule charging extra if your checked in baggage is within weight limit, but consists of two pieces instead of one piece! By that rule ought not the airline be forced to give you a discount if your chaecked in baggage is less than their limit?

Ek baar main Bangalore se Pune ja rha tha apni family ke saath Spice jet se. Meri seat (which ofcourse was booked, duh!) was assigned to someone else. I was totally flabbergasted. Anyhow, I was assigned some seat by the crew member. Later when plane took off, the engine housing on the right side was literally trembling and making "noises". That day I took oath, cha mudaaye kuch bhi situation ho BC kabhi spice jet mein nahi book karunga. It's a costly way to book your own death!

On 8th of January, my Vande Bharat from NDLS to Prayagraj, got delayed by freaking 12 hours in total. It left NDLS around 7 pm (Scheduled time 3 pm), and all night it ran at a speed of around 8 kmph, reaching Kanpur in the morning around 7 am. All seats were chair car, those seats were not meant for over night travel, so had to suffer through all night! When will our system change for real!!!

Totally agree with the angry passenger, as much as I don't like physical violence. These airlines have written Rules in their favor. Looks like Spicejet is Haryana Roadways with wings.
Lounge access should be given if 13 hours flight is delayed and give food water etc.
Better ask for hotel accommodation as in west with refund. Lounge is nit thay confirtable for overnight delay
Extensive cases in Consumer Court will solve a lot of these issues. I know, it may sound odd, but if multiple people start filing cases, and compensation are awarded, it would lead to either these airlines packing up or delivering.
Once after deboarding at Delhi airport from Indigo ,I waited at baggage belt ,all the passengers received their baggage but I could not find my Bag ,Finally I went to the customer care and it was found that my baggage was lying below the conveyer belt where the baggages are put on belt .It took 1.30 hrs extra in this process and was totally ignored by the staffs .

I live in uk. Here if a flight is delayed more than 3 hours the airline must provide 50% refund and a meal voucher. If the flight is delayed more than 6 jours hours you get full refund or 2 meal vouchers and a hotel room to sleep if the flight was in the night.

DDU to Varanasi distance is 18km but all trains takes 45 - 60 min because trains have schedule like that, Patna to Varanasi is 220 km, mostly trains reaches one hour before at DDU waits outside for one hr for scheduled arrival.

Privatisation is successful with proper regulation. However, most of the regulatory authorities are run by babus and we know how efficient babus are. Unless a heavy fine is imposed on these airlines and regulatory authorities, no change will happen. Unless fine is so high that it has potential to bankrupt airlines, no improvement will happen. When roads will better and trains will become fast, people will shun airlines for smaller routes.

Today I was about to catch my flight for Goa but due to an emergency i requested Indigo to reschedule on some other day, they asked more 4500 as rescheduling charges even the other day flight charges are same.

Owl does not deserve Milind Deora. Airline should be held accountable and be subjected to some kind of a compensation. What a shame! Also, agree with you Ajeet ji, we ended up paying Rs. 13,000 as we were coming from Chicago and our luggage was checked in based on the International rules which Indigo did not respect the IATA luggage rules. We had no choice but to shut up and pay.
If the flight is delayed by 2hrs or more you can get a full refund or alternate flight within 7 days +/-.

This connecting flight thing happened with me, had to cough up 7000 extra.
The issue is there is no rules for airlines to be punished, in other countries if flight is delayed by 6 hours then airlines has to return whole ticket amount and will have to fly the passengers for free. We need a strong movement for this otherwise we all will waste our hours in airport lounges.

I booked an Air India flight today for domestic travel. Air india allowed 20 kg of check in luggage. However, Vistara and Indigo allow 15 kg of check in luggage.

मै 1जनवरी "24"को रामेश्वर यात्रा मे निकला तो उत्तर भारत मे लगभग 4 घंटे लेट थी और दक्षिण भारत आते आते यह लेट 1 घंटे हो गयी और यही यात्रा मैने दिल्ली मे मैने लेट को बढते ही देखा लगभग 4 से 5 घंटे लेट ही हुआ है

this happened to me in air india when i paid extra amount for window seat in flight but they gave it to someone else and when i asked about it then they said u can complain on website.
This is standard Air India ground staff reply, "Please complain online"

मैं भी एक सरकारी सेवा कम्पनी में कार्यरत हूँ। हमारे यहाँ एक साल पहले OTP बेस्ड अटेंडेंस सिस्टम लागू की गई तो क्लास 1 से लेकर 4 तक सारे कर्मचारी आज तक उसका विरोध करते हैं। अनेकों कर्मचारी या तो घर से अपने pc से लॉगिन कर लेते हैं या अपने किसी कलीग से अटेंडेंस लगवा लेते हैं, कुछ तो साले आके अटेंडेस लगा के तुरंत ही बाहर निकल जाते है, ऐसों में विजिलेंस वाले भी सम्मिलित हैं। ये साला भारतीय मानस ही ऐसा है निकम्मा और कामचोर। इनका कुछ नहीं हो सकता।
Same things happen here in usa . Flights are delayed or cancelled without any prior notification. We face the same issues here often. Also no food is given . Only small chex mix packet
There shall be defined Standard of Consumer services codified with penalty, as Best fair practice for business. It should be audited by foreign body. Govt has to decide whether they stand with indian janata or billionaire corporate.

very well said Ajeet....I am from an airline family background the customer service or the facilities is worst as off date. the charm and the services of yesteryear is finish after the coming of LCC like spicejet indigo .the father of all these mess is the Air Deccan. the air deccan made the air travel cheap but without any good quality of services. the Flight operator .IAAI.Airport handler (GMR or ADANI) and the regulator are on a same boat. this nexus should be exposed.

मैं छह दिन पहले मुंबई से जुनागढ़ गया था ट्रेन से, १३ घंटे लगे राजकोट से होते हुए गया था.. आते वक्त दुसरी गाड़ी थी जुनागढ़ से बांद्रा २१ घंटे लगे, राजकोट से नहीं बल्कि कोई बायपास रुट था.. सारे स्टेशन खाली थे, सिर्फ जुनागढ़ से अहमदाबाद जाने के लिए १४ घंटे लगे ( ६ घंटे लगते है), ट्रेन केवल टाइम मैनेज करने के लिए २:३० - २:३० घंटे तीन बार ऐसी जगह रुकी थी कि आसपास कुत्ता भी नहीं था.. उपर से ट्रेन में पानी ११:३० बजे ही खत्म हो गया था, सुबह ८:३० बजे जब अहमदाबाद पहुंचे तब पानी भरा गया।।

Namaste Ajeeth bhai. Thanks for pointing out the topics about the issues in service industry and especially the attitude of citizens towards cleanliness, time management and organization. We lack here as a country. No one in india has the sense of keeping surroundings clean and orderly. Not the leaders, not the citizens.. no one talks about it. When some relatives comes from developed countries and points these out, we cant even fathom the fact. Rather than actually thinking about it and improving we tend to label them with some funny term.
This attitude should be pointed out so often and right into the face of all, that it starts hurting the ego of people.
Construction companies also dont follow any regulations and standards. Be it roads or buildings, everywhere it gets dusty when there is some construction going on. Even after construction is finished, it done so pathetic that edged of buildings and roads keep oozing the dust out. These issues are never addressed. Construction goes on in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, london everyday.. yet, these places never gets dusty.
Please keep doing this amazing work and do point the issues to the core.

When I heard this news I was really stressed. For people with health issues like me who feel clahstrobhobic and can have panic attacks this can be a shit experience. I am not sure what I would have done in this situation.
