YES thank you! I hate the way infps are always stereotyped as being depressed and always crying, and I think a lot of people with depression got mistyped as infps and that’s why the stereotype is so strong
So I suffer from depression and adhd at the same time, but it doesn't mean that I am never optimistic. I seriously have those moments where I try to "lift" myself and make life appear way better then how I see it.. if I wouldn't be like this, I (very probably) would have already attempted... but gladly I didn't, and I am just happy to have those precious people in my life to support me and help me out of this phase ^^

As an INFP I relate so much. But sometimes I feel like I can't listen to my intuition, when I listen to it, everything goes bad and I wish I didn't listen to it. Sometimes I wish I could be less sensitive because it seems like I take most things seriously. But also, I'm glad I'm an introvert and I have a stronger sense of emotions Update: People. It turns out that although I have A LOT of traits of INFP, I'm actually an INFJ. When I was typing this comment I was new to mbti. Because of my traits I was often mistyped as INFP but thanks to my friend I know that I'm an INFJ. Although I'm pretty messy, I always like to know what's gonna happen next. Not like INFPs who are usually fine with changes, as long as it doesn't take their freedom away

i think for optimism, ppl can misinterpret it as infps always being "positive". as an infp, i also thought i was pretty pessimistic most of the time, especially w mental illness, and i still can be from time to time, but i found out i can be more optimistic than everyone else when it comes in clutch (ie dire situations). when everyone's lost all hope, infps are the ones who believes strongly theres still hope, and becomes a pillar of support for everyone. (and for some infps they even find the solution when everyones given up, and ppl do get surprised by this unexpected trait we have) it's an anime cliche of finding strength within when it comes to saving their loved ones, infps tend to be able to do almost anything they can when ppl they care abt really need it. (ofc the situation doesnt have to be as big as "saving a loved one from danger", it could just be something small)

but having that as their inferior function can make it hard to use. i am not saying that infps can't be rational, they can be even without having to develop their inferior function Te. But using Te comes a lot more unnaturaly to an Infp until they develop it with age and life experience. also, infps do have Te in their function stack. It's just their 4th function and they prefer Fi and Ne over Si and Te.

Everyone is saying we aren't optimistic and that some of us can't be optimistic because we suffer from depression. People, you can suffer from depression and still being optimistic. I personally find myself extremely optimistic with those around me. I'm always trying to show them the good sides of things, but at the same time I know I'm extremely pessimistic with my own self (which I'm trying to change), and yes I stuffer from depression too. I think we can be both things at once and that's fine too

As an INFP, I am rational but when I do confront others or share my own ideas and opinions, I will start overthinking that everything I'll put on the table will be neglected or rejected in an instant that is why I stumble forming words to say. I am also not optimistic, at all.
