  • Scara Royal Black Institution the largest one day event to be held in Northern Ireland.
The Main Black Men Parade has just ended, so we head down to the Field so we can watch the last remaining Sham Fight left in Europe. It's not what I was exspecting.

Great video, it's a great day out, definitely the favourite of the three days. We had a Luna the lunatic with us and her sister Super Nova. The Bassets belong to a RB lodge. They are lovely. See them at Armaghs 12th too. I remember a few years ago they used to ride horses down the lane to begin the sham fight. That's now obviously too dangerous because there is so many people coming to Scarva, probably insurance too. There's so many car parking areas in Scarva. Pretty sure at least one if not more goes to charity ( seen cancer research and air ambulance at one). There is a few small ponds in Scarva estate, and Lough shark was not far from that car park.
As for Drumderg Loyalist flute band, Keady, outside Scarva house, I'd guess that is their annual picture for the marching season.

@@cpparkinson5109 Lot of info there👍 I was disappointed that there were no Horses. I've been told by other family members that there were the last time they were up there. The Sham fight was a wee bit of a sham too. I had imagined that we would be looking down a hill at King William & King James moving towards each other on Horseback followed by a few men in uniform, doing their battle, but then I do have a good imagination 😀. But what I saw was what it was. Next year it might be better as I'm not expecting as much. The Parade itself was good as I actually seen and heard Pipe Bands playing their Pipes and not just walking past me beating a single drum beat. I noticed the field parking for the Air Ambulance and a local man told me that the farmer who owns that field give 100% of the money raised to that charity, so I'll go to that field next year. I must look up them lakes in Google maps and I might take up my Electric Scooter so I can do the Canal Path while Luna walks or runs beside me.
