    Also as seen from the screen, if it is fast charging , a circle will surround the lightening symbol on the home screen (the top bar) . If there is no fast charging the circle will not appear

      It will likely degrade faster though, like most other lithium battery phones.
      Also, may need to be careful. Note 7 tried to jam too much capacity in and exploded when quick charged. Xiaomi may have doubts on their battery's ability to handle quick charging and decided to not include it in the box.

      The charging speed would not affect the battery but the heat does. Fast charging is not recommended in any phone that heats up a lot (40 degrees C and above) during charging. Heat reduces overall battery lifespan.

    5+ charge the comes with it is technically not "fast charge" BUT it does charge at a pretty decent speed because it is 2a charge rate instead of 3A maximum that QC2.0 or up to 4.6a 3.0 can do
    either way, 2a while not "fast" is still just as good as many phones that come with a charger "in the box" for example Moto G phones more often then not only ship with a 1.5a charger.
    Even then, I have a charger that does 2A as well, and still the one that comes with phone still seems to charge it slightly faster (~10 mins faster) direct comparison.
    BUT cannot do QC3.0 charge speed of course ^.^
    Redmi 5 Plus supports up to QC3.0 (because of its CPU which is rated for doing so) I got a QC 3.0 charger that works PERFECTLY with Redmi 5 Plus (I researched this ahead of time)
    from empty to full takes a bit under 2 hours (~1:40 mins with it "on" but locked, 1:30 mins with it fully powered off)

    I believe that by Not recommending the fast charge Xiaomi allows the batteries to have a longer lifespan, since the fast charge stresses the batteries and reduce their life in terms of charging cycles before the effective capacity gets significantly reduced.

      DickkeAlso Bwalls then you have to remember that the time to full charge is not significant, but the energy that the charger stores inside: a 2.000 mAh battery will fully charge in half the time, but the phone will live half the time too. With redmi 5 plus 50% battery gives you one full day operational.

      Ferland Sala actually between 20-30 and 80%. Consider fully charging at 100% only if you need it to reach the end of your day. I am getting used to split the charge in two: in the evening before sleeping I reach 60%, and in the morning, while having breakfast and dressing up, I complete the charge up to 80-100% according to my needs.

      Many have tested it.
      Some people in MIUI Forum showed that the phone is receiving up to 2500mA max flow, which is up to Quick Charging 3.0's standard.
      Do check out the app called "Ampere" in the Play Store and even if you use the stock charger, it will go up to 1500mA, which is also up to par with Quick Charging, but only 2.0 and not 3.0.

  • @DMDMDM7
    @DMDMDM7 Před 6 lety
