I am a 63 year old female and have never done this before. Was tough and I was scared to break something but I did it. Thanks so much for the excellent video 😊
Yay for you!!! I LOVE CZcams!!!
@@lcorvettewell done indeed save me the 20 bucks the mechanic wants for each light
Ty for making this! RAV4 owners unite!
Thanks stranger, didn't even need a screwdriver for my 18'. Came off very easily. Much easier than how it looks.
"now that was kind of easy, but the first time I tried, it was hard to pull it out." THANK YOU! That's exactly what I needed to know. Every other video shows the bulb coming out with almost zero effort. I had to pull really hard to get them out and kept thinking I was missing a step and about to break something
I am a 23 year old woman who knows NOTHINGGG about cars. I mean zip but with this video I went out and changed both of my headlights in like 5 minutes. Thank you for your service sir🫡
Detatch the bulb from the housing first! Then you can separate the bulb from the wiring. It’s much easier this way. I did it today and it took me 3 minutes.
Currently it's 2°F outside with feel like temp of -15°F......I didn't want to be waisting time figuring this out. Your video saved me from freezing my butt of and possibly trying to rush it with cold plastic parts. Thanks for the video! Btw my driver light was easy to remove. However, passenger side required a flat head.
Best video - was super simple to follow!!!!
I can def confirm that it was much easier to twist the bulb off, then pull the connection off!
The screwdriver technique was something I could find nowhere else; I did not want to shatter the plastic clip so I appreciated the idea of using a screwdriver to remove the plastic power sheath.
Second time i have used this video. THANK YOU
Appreciate you making this video I was able to change my head light with no issue thank you
I did this twice thanks to this video
Thank you sir. I just replaced my headlight by following your video. Awesome job man!!👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you, my headlight on the passenger side went out a couple days ago, I was furious because I thought it was an LED assembly, but then I found out it was a halogen light...so now you've showed me what to do and I will do it ❤️
Thanks a lot man, I was struggling until I watched this vid
How did you struggle ?
Thank you for this extremely helpful tutorial! This is the second time I’ve referred to this in order to replace my headlights. Wouldn’t say I’m a “handy” individual but the confidence boost in being able to do this myself was awesome. This time around, I picked up one of those headlight flashlights and wow! Made it so much easier. Thanks again for the opportunity to not have to hire someone for once!!
Just changed the headlight in 2 minutes thanks to your video. Appreciate it!
Thank you! That screwdriver was the difference-maker! God bless!!
Thank you so much for this video, been single means to learn to do certain things like this to save $40❤😂😂😂😊
Thank you! So easy to follow that I got it the first try 😊
Nice detailed video. Thank you for adding the screwdriver alternative for unhooking the bracket. I was having difficulty getting off until I watched your video. Now I see how it works. 👍🏼😂
Thank you so much for this. I went to auto zone to buy the bulbs thinking i could get them to help me change the bulbs. The man refused said something about to many screws whatever that means. I got home and decided nothing i cant find on CZcams, saw your video and i got it done. So proud of myself. Thank you so much🎉
Helpful video. Mine were hard to uncle too but instead of using my tiny screwdriver to pry the bulb covers off, per the video, I used the handle to apply a little more pressure to push down the clip and it worked. 🎉
Thanks for this how-to. I was able to get both my headlights changed with my teenage sons help and your video
Thanks for the honest review. I have a 2016, and you demonstrated how that outside plastic thing won't budge even when you "press down" on it. It's tricky but the recommended short screwdriver is also correct. Once off, replacement is a breeze. Thanks again for the help.
Thanks SOOO much for supplying the part number in your description-way to go!
Thank you, you just saved me a trip to mechanic. Wasn't easy to unplug as you pointed out but screwdriver trick worked
Thank you for making this video. It helped me remove the electrical connector which is the hardest part of the whole bulb replacement.
Thank you! That was really helpful. Just replaced both my RAV4 headlights within a few minutes. I did need to use a screwdriver to help pull the electrical connector off. So thanks for the tip.
Thanks, this is exactly what I needed to see. It’s even the same color as my Rav 4 😀
Thanks, your video was helpful. I'm glad Toyota made it an easy job on this car.
Thanks for this and for saying “the first time I did this …” Helps so much!
There is a detailed description of how to do this in your owner's manual on page 596. You want to screw the bulb out first and then disconnect the wiring harness. Great video!
That hint about using a flathead on the harness really helped. Thanks!
Thank you! Replaced both headlights in a couple of minutes!
Great Video and with excellent presentation. Thank You !
THANK YOU so much! Great instructional video.
Great video, thank you! It was my first time doing this repair and you made it easy!
Thanks so much for this! Great to know how much pressure you need to put to get it out without breaking it. Gentleman!
So helpful thank you! Gotta find the right bulb then try it soon
I was having problems getting harness off too. Thanks for screwdriver tip. It worked. Only video I found with this tip
Thank you much. My bulb just went out & I’m sure this info will help a lot!
Done in less than 10 minutes! (Would have been 5 if I had my screwdriver handy.)
Personally, I couldn't get the right angle to get the harness off the bulb while everything was in, so I turned the bulb and tugged it out while it was attached. (Watch the wires!)
THEN, I could use my screwdriver to get the harness off the bulb. Then, popped the bulb back in and attached the harness back. Easy peasy! Thank you for this vid!
Great video!!! Thank you so much. I’ll be going to Autozone today 😊
Thank you for having the bulb size in the description! Meant I could buy the bulb last night. None of the websites I went to wanted to just tell me what to get.
Thanks for the very helpful video ! Was able to change my bulb without any problems.
Thanks! Really helpful got it changed in seconds
Благодарю! Уже менял эти лампы один раз, но без подсказки второй раз не смог. Ваше видео, с помощью автоперевода помогли😊.
Привет из России! 🖐

Super helpful. Thank you so much!
Thanks, very helpful!
Thank you! Clean video
Great video!! thanks for the tip with the screwdriver
Very good explained thanks!
Thanks a lot for this!
Thanx for the effort 👍As with your experience I found it hard to remove the bulb assembly from the auto body mount point.
One note I think the job goes easier if one removes the bulb assembly from the frame first then separates the bulb from the wiring harness.
This step helped me big time. Thank you for adding to this very helpful video!
Thank you bro, it was a big help!!!

Twist the bulb counterclockwise until it stops. It will not just come out , you will need to put some force . Also the bulb was a 9012 Philips brand, if you are looking like for like, I both a pair on Amazon for 30$.
Thanks for the information ,dealers asked me 400 for both lights but I do by myself I save 320
Thank you!!! Clear, concise and super helpful.
