A PERFECT DAY AT BLUE SPRING STATE PARK, FLORIDA

- Winter in Florida is pretty magical - Sunny with temperatures in the 70's makes the weather absolutely perfect for a visit to one of Florida's 175 State Parks. We met up with our friends Nick and Lindsay, as well as their sweet kiddos, for a picnic and some fun at Blue Spring State Park.
Besides being known for for its crystal clear waters right off of the St. John's river, Blue Spring State Park is also known for being a great place to see manatees! When the temperatures get cooler here in Florida, the manatees will come by the hundreds to stay warm in the constant 72° spring fed waters of the Blue Spring run.
It was such a beautiful day to explore the park, to see God's creation up close, and to make memories with our children and our friends. Florida is a great place to live, filled with stunning landscapes and natural parks and pretty consistent weather throughout the year. We're blessed to call this our home and are excited about what adventures we'll find ourselves on in the future!

I hope your arm is better Erin. I know that must have been painful, seeing how black and blue you were. You are strong and always have a smile on your face and you and Chad are good examples of patient parents with your kids! You won’t remember me but I was at your wedding and also sent you a crochet blanket for Carson’s room that I made, it knowing his colors you had chosen for his room! I was so happy to see in once in an episode of you sharing his room as a baby and there was my blanket!! I had hoped you might use it! ❤ You made my heart smile that day. You continue to do so! William is growing and fling out. He reminds me of Mama Bates a little. I love seeing the clear, pure water in that river. So tropical and peaceful. I had the privilege to visit the manatees over 30 years ago with my gainsville family. We went to a beautiful river and waded in a little beach like area. Very cold water. The manatees were pretty close to us. They call them sea cows.

We are blessed to live at the entrance to Blue Springs State Park. The house at the springs is a great learning experience for the kiddo’s too.

Florida has great state parks! Up the road from Blue Springs State Park, about 40-45 minutes north, is DeLeon Springs State Park, and you can see the manatees there too. We’ve had some really pretty days, perfect for enjoying the parks. God bless y’all. Arlene
Hasn’t Deleon Springs State Park been closed? I hope I’m wrong! We visited it twice with our Ormond Beach family. We cooked pancakes at the restaurant, went on a boat tour with a very knowledgeable guide! It is a lovely beautiful park!

@@ruthwarren8685 the park is still open. The pancake restaurant was closed for a while when it was being refurbished but it’s opened again.

I grew up in Deltona, FL just 20 minutes from Blue Springs Park. I love that you featured it on your channel, I had many great memories there as a teen in the 90s and into adulthood ❤

Love the exploring all the children did. Chad, Erin those spiky things the kiddoes found are called gumballs. From the Sweet gumball tree. Maybe a class discussion in cslas using google. They are in bloom now. Can be a nuisance to the yard, their feet etc. They can be fun for crafts using the imagination. Great video and sweet to share you friends and family. The babies are adorable!

It is my favorite place to be. I go every summer. Nice to see they have the aluminum viewing section open in the winter. Last time I was there in winter, it was closed off.
I am jealous !! 70’s! And what a beautiful park! I must put Bkue Springs Park on my bucket list!! My goal is to figure out how to spend at least winters in Florida!!! Indiana is too cold, even though this winter so far we have been spares the usual snow. Been very dry over all. You have a beautiful family and I am grateful to continue to bless us with your videos and family!! I have not been to Florida since Nov 2020 and I do miss it! I know it’s hot in summer but the other 3 months are heaven! My parents had a second home in N Naples, Vanderbilt beach area years and our kids all loved as did all of us adults with the many years of family visits!! My grandparents were always there too so 3 generations . They had a very big house in the water and lots of room for all plus a pool. We were blessed. I didn’t realize how much at the time, but certainly do now looking back. Sometimes when we are young we take so much for granted. Not now! My daughter rented a very large home on ESTERO ISLAND in 2020 which I have since learned was taken down by the hurricane that went through Ft Myers a couple years ago, which was very sad. Many lost their homes.

I live in Citrus County where swimming with manatees is. A friend works for one of the tour companies and posts pictures almost daily. Love manatees! Lots of springs around Florida. Most are 72° year round.

We had a manatee in the zoo close to where I grew up. They called it a sea cow.

I love Blue Springs! I used to live in Pierson FL. If it's still open, you should go visit Pioneer Settlement in Barberville FL. Good historical field trip for the kids.

Another nice place to take the kids is Weekewachee Springs on the West coast ! Not sure where you guys are living but it can’t be too far ! Also during the cold months the Manatees come in to the warm water coming out of Tampa Electric power plant and there are hundreds and so fun to watch ! Also I am in Tampa but if you come here visit Ballast Point Park and playground ! There is a pier going out into the bay that the kids will love and the playground is great ! Tarpon Springs and the sponge docks I think Carson would love ! Have fun and welcome to Florida ! Enjoy the weather but it does get hot in the summer ! ❤️
