It took me a while to realize this was an April Fool's thing for two reasons. First, I didn't watch it until April 4, so it didn't immediately occur to me. Second, however, is that I can totally see the value in this type of training. My wife was an accomplished ballet dancer but had never climbed until about a month ago. She's a natural on the wall. She has zero issues with climbing shoes, having worn pointe shoes for 20 years, and her movements are fluid and precise. She lacks some upper body and grip strength, and an earlier torn ACL causes occasional hesitancy, but it's clear that her years of ballet work have helped her make a very smooth transition to the wall. I mean, she regularly flashes 5.9s at the gym and she started climbing a month ago! Go do some ballet, people!

That first shot in the ballet studio where it starts from focusing on the woman in the foreground and shifting to focus on Adam was utterly masterful. Really good camera work!

I know this is meant to be an April Fool’s joke, but I think you’d be surprised at what ballet could bring to your climbing. My ex-girlfriend was a professional ballet dancer and when plateaued in martial arts she suggested I try a few classes. I thought I was strong and athletic, but the classes crushed me. By the end of my block of lessons my flexibility and core strength had greatly improved, and it brought a superb precision to my spinning kicks. Sometimes it truly pays to think leftfield.

traded ballet lessons for climbing lessons many years ago. . Many great climbers sweated that game over time. You gain greater toes strength as well as flexibility & centered control in hips.
Meanwhile, I don't know Czech, but teacher yelling "Sasquatch, Sasquatch" may have had a point, Adam.
Notice how the dancers cast arms forward with full commitment. Strength emanating from center through fingertips and feet is useful.

Let's see how it works. Would be nice to hear more about Adam's thoughts regarding the potential influences or benefits dancing/ballet has on his climbing.
