I went through my crucible on the darkest night into a shitty rainy day. I remember having 2 guys quit before we made the final hike back. The days had us exhausted to our physical and mental limits. The weather was stormy and raining on us the entire time. But the graduation ceremony gave us clear blue skys and a gentle breeze. It was enough to make us all cry while receiving our EGA. Semper Fidelis my brothers and sister.

I just got back from boot camp about 4 weeks ago. It’s gonna suck. A lot. Some days you’ll think to yourself why you ever chose to go there. My advice for boot camp is to suck it up and embrace it. The sooner you get accustomed to the way of life as a recruit, the quicker the days will pass. But, it isn’t all bad. Sometimes the hardest thing to do will be holding back your laughter with your platoon mates. All in all, boot camp is whatever you make of it. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Believe me, it only holds you back to dwell in your thoughts. Just turn your brain off and just keep screaming and running because before you even know it you’ll be standing in front of the Statue of Iwo Jima, trying to hold back your tears while receiving your EGA. And in just two more weeks you’ll be standing at parade rest at Peatross with your family cheering you on at the day of your graduation. Just keep your head up and remember why it is you joined, and use that passion as a fuel to help you perform your best. Semper Fidelis.

I’ll be shipping out to the island soon. I can’t lie, I’m terrified. However, I lost two grandfathers this past year. I got a divorce. Kicked a very bad drinking habit. I’ve done a lot of things I’m not proud of. I just turned 22 and I feel that all I’ve been able to produce is mistakes since graduating high school. My grandfathers never got to see me truly succeed at something. I don’t eat nearly enough, I’ve become lazy, complacent, I quit everything and worst of all, I live every day in fear of my own mortality. So again I am truly terrified, but make no mistake; the only way I quit is if I die.

Experienced the most beautiful sight while on the hike back. We were on the final open road before reaching the base itself. Our platoon was honor, so we were in the front of the whole company & since I was a taller guy I was about 3-4 rows from the front. Man the scarlet & gold lead series, follow series, and company guidons were blowing in the wind perfectly while the sun was rising. Had the WW2 re enactor next to me telling me how he’d leave us if we didnt scream the cadence. Wont ever forget it. Echo Co, Plt 2074, 2nd RTBN Parris Island rah

The better condition you are in before you go, the more it builds and eases the suffering. The least prepared BEFORE hitting the island usually find a way off of it without the title. I can tell you no matter what I dropped 40 lbs on Parris island, I was sick with cellulitis from day 3, ER for 2 weeks, back into training... I completed the crucible with swollen sores all over my legs, wouldn't report it...
Made it, earned the title... The moment I saw my dad whistling for me and we locked eyes... everything was worth it and I earned the most memorable moment of my life.
I'm out now, been around the world 5 times with the Corps, served in Afghanistan for 11 months was one of few who hit Haiti within 48 hours of that terrible Earthquake...
I may have injured my back in Afghanistan, have been facing a recurring back injury that renders me bedridden once maybe twice every two years for a week or two, or a month when terrible.
    I do not collect disability.
I will not, I cannot... that is the fund for those who have sacrificed far more than I could ever. I still have my body intact, may fall apart once a while every couple of years or more but I will NOT take from the pot, the fund that those who have given so much more... a single nickel.
For those of you out there stealing from the VA disability fund... whether claiming this or that fraudulently. You are the lowest form of life this world has to offer. You are stealing from those who cannot work, have no longer the ability to provide... have given everything in their bodies to us all...
You shall be judged, forget not, we Marines guard the gates of heaven... remember the base chapel on the island? Those beautiful windows show our fates as it means to be a Marine.
Only those who are true will understand my meaning.
All said I think of the Corps every day, I'd never change a thing... it was all completely worth it and I will never forget what it means to be a Marine as I still exercise Marine Corps ethos in all I do now on the civilian side of our beloved United States of America.

Just because you decided to hide your pain and injuries doesn't make you more of a Marine than the other people you graduated with, or even others who have graduated after your time. This kind of mindset is what pushes people away from the military. Please be aware of that.

You get your name tapes at around halfway through Phase two of recruit training, it sets you apart from phase 1 recruits, along with blousing your boots, to show you’ve earned a little something. You aren’t a marine until you have received your Eagle Globe and Anchor.

    • @0311tard
      @0311tard Před rokem +1

So early on into the cycle, you send your desert cammies out to get name tapes on them. And usually at the start of second phase, you get them back and you send your woodlands out to get name tapes. That’s why I’m second phase you’ll see recruits wearing deserts. But by third phase, they will be back in woodlands but for field events such as bwt and the crucible, they were deserts.

    • @MCRDPI
      @MCRDPI  Před rokem +5

The standard pack weight during Recruit Training is 54lbs, this is to simulate carrying a fighting load during a deployment or training exercise. Along with this pack, recruits will also carry their M16A4 Service Rifle as well as wear their Kevlar Helmets. This is all carried throughout the hikes during recruit training.
We have numerous recruits that become Marines who overcome similar challenges to yours.
All of this combined allows us to develop basically trained Marines who are ready to fight and win our nation's battles with the same ferocity we have since our origins.

I am delivering a sermon to you 🙏😊 please read
Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊
Or just be my friend if you don't want to say the prayer 😄
I'm trying to help you get right with the LORD 🙏
    Amen.
I have worded a short prayer for you to say if you are not sure what words to use, it may not be the best but here it is 😊
    '' CREATOR, LORD GOD,
Please forgive me and my friends and my family for our immoral acts, please help guide us in a positive direction and please help us against evil. Please save us from Hell and have mercy on our souls. Thank you CREATOR, LORD GOD. Amen. ''
Please say this at least once a day for at least a month, do it longer if you want to and can 🙏
You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊 Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol.
Please put your hands together 🙏 bow your head and say this prayer:
"CREATOR, LORD GOD, please know that I worship you and not any idols. Thank you for everything CREATOR, LORD GOD. Amen"
Say ' Om Namah Shivaya ' out loud or in your head 108 times, or try to do it 1008 times 😊 try to do it everyday if you want
repeat this aloud for as long as you want to, try to do it for like an hour a day or say it in a prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner"
You can also say this prayer once a day or repeat it aloud as many times as you would like to:
"Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen."
    Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
    Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
"O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!" Repeat this aloud at least 3 times or as many as you want, do it everyday if you can
I apologize for all the words 😊 I know how it may look

    UK Forces comments:
Next to no team-work taught to Marine recruits.
No opportunities for recruits to carry out section patrols and attacks, independent of instructors.
Incomprehensible and gratuitous shouting by instructors.
An uneasy air of retribution by instructors because they themselves were harassed as recruits.
    In summary:
    10 weeks mis-spent 'training'.
