AMD's RX 7600 Price LEAKED! - it's Better Than I Thought!

  • Today in the news, Nvidia Copies AMD, and the RX 7600 looks a little more promising than I thought.
After AMD partnered up with Samsung in 2019 for their graphics IP, we had to wait 3 years for the results. The Exynoss 2200 was born with RDNA graphics, but it was nothing groundbreaking. Now, Nvidia is looking to push their IP's too, but this time with MediaTek. Who knows, something great might be there.
Next up, the RX 7600, After their high end 7900 XT and 7900 XTX models, AMD is skipping all the way down to their 7600 series. The RX 7600 series release date, price, and relative performance are the subject of today's video. The price might be better than you expected as it reflects prices we haven't seen since 2019. The RX 7600 might be a hit with those specs!

There is a difference between the RX 6600 and the 6600XT. Some claim the later is about 15% faster, some want to say it's more than 20%. I think it's safe to assume about 10%...
So that should be kept in mind when looking at prices.
The difference between the 6600XT and the 6650XT is a lot smaller, as something like 3% to 4% in Dying Light 2. (the difference between the 6600 and 6650XT is 17% in the same game)

Putting 8GB of VRAM on a GPU under $200 likely isn't economically viable now that a ~200sqmm die costs about $50 instead of the ~$20 it did back in the RX580's days. The profit margin at $200/8GB is mostly gone unless you make a smaller, slower, cheaper GPU die. I doubt something even slower than an RX6600 just to bring 8GB below $200 in an economically viable manner would be particularly popular.

I am not much into AAA gaming, I have just little info from what guys in online gaming use.
Some have still 1060, one guy had RX 285 I guess(pretty powerhungry old stuff, but he plays casually so he doesn't care almost 300W), some got 1650s 1y ago for casual play too, one has 3070 and a last one, who upgraded got overpriced 1660s just 3mo ago.
I got 6650xt 5mo ago for around 280USD (+local VAT). It was best price I could get at that moment. Upgrade of 1050 was phenomenal for me, could max details at 1440p and have still good fps (World of warships).
If I upgrade gpu anytime then, it would be something with 2x raster performance to run 4K flawlessly in that game, probably around 4070/ti but its not a must, if I would get such capable display, then I would know there is decently cheap esport fast gpu available(current VRAM use just 4GB+ at 1440p, 6,5+ at 4K, probably would not go for more than 12GB gpu).
But given the pricing trends, it looks my upgrade.. again just 5y later, so hopefully in 2027, if Nvidia marketing Moore's Law won't slow down even further.
But with some 27-28 inch 4K 144Hz monitors slowly going down in price, who knows what crazy enthusiast-budget gamer gonna buy.
I guess it would be Rdna4 or Blackwell for me
1 gen skip is usually wise, for getting good performance boost at similar price point.
