    Thank you so much for this presentation! I have a OE Pharos 1.1, it is a very old design that has 68mm Italimill burrs, its excellent for espresso. Really syrupy. It has no step down mechanism so it takes a lot of effort and very difficult for light roasts. It takes 15 seconds to grind 18g for espresso in a Cafelat Robot. I would recommend but its quirky.

    In terms of construction, Kinu M47 is a solid choice.
    I have both C40 and M47. I have done a blind test for pour over. The setting on C40 is 28 clicks; and M47 is 3.1.
    Many people say C40 is way superior to M47 in pour over. However, my blind test has different result: I prefer the aroma, tasting profile and after taste from M47.
    Once again, tasting is very personal and subjective. Therefore, my only command is material in M47 Classic is premium

    What an amazing review! I love the Kinu M47 but I hate the plastic bits and no cover to prevent pop-corning. My favorites in this group are the BPlus Apollo because of the all metal construction and very fast grind times. I love the Bravo IT also. I can't tell which is better between the Apollo or Bravo. Which would you choose and why?

    • @ourcoffeeshelter
      @ourcoffeeshelter  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi there, it depends on the roasting profile you are using. The Apolo is really nice, but it is extremely difficult to grind with light roasts. If you have the budget and you love hand grinding, you can consider the Kinu M68. Expect a review of it coming in the next month 👌😊

    Amazing review !
    I was wondering, I got a JX-PRO since 2020, I love handgrinders and seeking to go for maybe a higher tier hangrinder & improve my daily routine. But from what I feel and seeing today, I'm not so sure I would have huge difference with the grinders showed here.
    I mostly grind for espresso medium roast... Would I get better & more consistent shots with an Apollo or Kinu 47 ? And is the difference worth it ? J & K Series of 1zpresso mostly feel to me that they improved (much) ergonomic aspects of the workflow, which is super nice but not worth going for it unless I just have money to throw away.
    I would be curious about your opinion on what would be a real worth upgrade from a jx-pro

    • @ourcoffeeshelter

      Hi there, either the Kinu M47, or the K-Ultra will be wonderful options. The build quality of both is superior and the alignment is brilliant.
      Your overall experience will be better. K-Ultra is really very versatile, and the Kinu quality is a wonderful change over the 1ZPRESSO Aluminium metal. Would probably lean towards the Kinu M47 Classic in your case. Also, both grinders will keep their value if you ever decide to sell them and try something new 👌☕️🤍

    • @mprz8188
      @mprz8188 Před 4 měsíci

      @@Timmeh2Buck Worse how? I use and love both, but I can push extraction more on the ZP6 without diminishing returns. Some people say ZP6 produces less fines than the K series and it seems to be true but the reason why ZP6 tastes cleaner is not just because of the fewer fines. ZP6 special cranks smoother and it's easy to maintain an stable rotation of the crank which also translates into less heat and static generated. On the other hand, it's worth mentioning that grounds shape is affected by the burrs feed rate. K series grind way faster and aggressively in comparison. People who claim ZP6 tastes watery and light, can say the same about flat burrs? In my experience ZP6 tastes sweeter and more textured than most flats I've tried and when fine tuning recipes K vs ZP6 I can easily adjust to make them taste quite close, but ZP6 holds the edge without a doubt IMHO

    • @drevil2675
      @drevil2675 Před 3 měsíci +1

      ZP6 isn’t that special . It focuses on clean cup, so it’s lack of texture and layers of filter coffee. For some complex coffee beans such as geisha , zp6 is not capable as K nor C40.

    • @mprz8188
      @mprz8188 Před 3 měsíci

    My vote goes to Mazzer. Design wise it took my heart. ❤ And they' ve done extensive work on mistakes on the second interation.
    Ps. I don't get a point of measuring grinding time with hand grinders. Nobody choose them for speed. If you need a fastest time go for electric one. It's easy.

      Yes we choose also for speed. Nobody want to spend +3 mins grinding. Being a daily user of a premium hand grinder, I would not go back for something slow, and grinders such as C40 are no go for espresso shots for example. And I love having a fast & precize grinder that give me under 1 min my 18gr.

      @@StopTalkGoPlay I hardly imagine hand grinder as a daily driver. It's like using a horse instead of car.

      Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is a personal decision in this matter as some people go to high-end hand grinders for precision and daily use. That is why we prioritise mentioning these details to help each friend making their own decision rather than us prioritising based on our own preferred features.
      The Omega does check many boxes and it is a beauty. We hope Mazzer will come up with a new burr geometry for it, that one would be interesting to try! 🤍☕️

    Commandante need to innovate badly. The grind adjustment is hard to stomach once you've used an external mechanism!

    Most of these are pretty ugly compared to lower tier products

    I have a c60 and I cut my hand. 🩹 That's why it's called Baracuda!
