They avoided using real names so nobody would be implicated.
She stepped forward OFFERING HER IDENTITY TO THE PUBLIC and doxed herself...

While she’s clearly a little delusional, if Netflix lied and this wasn’t 100% a true story like they have stated on record then she has every right to Sue them.

The whole problem was that NETFLIX put “THIS IS A TRUE STORY” right at the start of the series. If they put “BASED ON A TRUE STORY”, then NETFLIX would be fully protected by law to take liberties with the story. Now every single thing in the story will need to be proven that it truly happened. If anything is wrong, the complainant will earn a lot of money. I foresee an agreement between both parties between 500k to 1mil.

Excellent point. That's why the slightly weasel phrase 'based on a true story ' was created

Not everything need to be proven actaully. What Mr H reads out loud on 3:24 is enough because thats the most defamatory IMO even tho Mr H doesn't seem to agree with that and says that there is something that is significantly more damaging than that. I would love to hear what!

I haven't seen the show but from what I understand, Netflix didn't state her actual name. Her case has no standing. Viewers figured out who she is. Her stating she's the stalker makes no difference in the case. In the US she'd have no case. She just wants money.

It's a shame that MPs lying aren't held in contempt (legally). Mind you, if that were the case they'd never say anything. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. The question is; did Netflix out this Scottish woman? Have they confirmed that it is indeed her in the show? I genuinely don't know. She's probably going to kick up as much fuss as possible so that they pay her off to shut her up. They ought to just drive her legal bills up whilst denying it's her. A letter from an SNP MP is just spam mail. They have no power and not much influence.
Not sure that the UK govt can do anything. They tried to tell Rumble to de-monetise Russel Brand. Rumble told the UK govt to f*ck off, and they obligingly departed in short jerky motions. Wish I could tell them the same with the same results.

The only concern I have is parliament taking legal action in order to protect the rich BBC Groomers and paedophiles. Fiona outed herself also I picked up the undercurrent of transphobia and homophobia in interview with Pierce. That interview convinced me she did those things to Gadd.

  • @ObjectiveObservershort-man

Logically the woman MAY be able to claim due to being indentified easily, but at the same time she has publicly done this herself, prior to starting any litigation. As for the show it does state that some of it was dramatised,so highly unlikely that there is a case to answer there. It doesn't tend to matter where the dramatisation disclaimer is,only that it is there.

It literally says at the end of each episode that some events have been dramatised. Gadd has been upfront in interviews prior to Martha going on Piers Morgan that there was no conviction, he said he felt sorry for her so didn’t want her prosecuted. Bet he wished he’d pursued it now.

Let's be real though, the only way anyone could know it was her, is if she conducts herself such as she was portrayed.
