- One of the most exciting Xperia devices this year is probably the 5 IV as it for the first time differs from its bigger brother the 1 IV. I am unboxing and take a first look at the new device.
What are you thoughts on the 5 IV? Is it ThE device to get if you like more compact phones? Or is the Asus Zenfone 9 the better choice this year? - Věda a technologie
Waiting for your videos about overheating and also comparisons with Zenfone 9 😊
Lol
And Google pixel 6
Indeed. Those 2 phones are on my list for replacing my S10
Me too!
I am excited to see that review as well. The big difference in my mind is the wireless charging capabilities of the Sony which I feel like was a missed opportunity for Asus.
I was waiting this video , thanks for always sharing Xperia phones videos
I miss HTC😢. The good old days.
I had 2 HTC phones, One m8 and u11 and both were the most reliable and the most fantastic phones I have ever had to this date. Not even a frozen screen in 7 years of being with HTC
Yes I miss my htc u11
Oh you have to compare to the ZenFone 9!!! Especially battery life please
Thank you for the care, attention and honesty that you put into your reviews. Thanks for reviewing the Sony stuff too.
European governements : "Please dont use heating too much this fall/winter"
Techview : "But I have to test 5 mkIV overheating!" 🤓
Uses Xperia 5 mkIV to record a 5 minute video.
Temperature of neighbourhood rises by 1 degree
Hit and miss... 8+1 gen would have been a true HIT! 😔
We are waiting for a comparison with Zenphone 9
Die Anspielung auf swagtab und den top Aufkleber war spitze 😂👍
finally 😁 I wait review of Xperia 5 IV from you before I decide to buy it.
I guess for the extra $200 you get (and for pre-order extra headphones):
- glass back
- expandable storage
- 2.5x zoom lens
- Cameras: 4k120 on all lenses, fast object tracking / burst mode
- 2 stage shutter button
- wireless charging
The Zenfone 9 does have better bass according to gsmarena test as well. But maybe Dolby Atmos could help little bit. Or equalizer but I think Sony only allows that for headphones.
You can use the equalizer for the speakers as well.
There's a 3rd party EQ you can use that equalises all audio played on Android phones. It won't give you heaps of extra bass but I can tune the tonal characteristic to a nicer one.
- glass back is rather disadvantage,
- 128GB is enough for me and for most people,
- 2.5x zoom vs 2x digital = no difference. 2.5x zoom lens is laughable these days,
- 4k 120fps on all lenses - useless for most people, burst mode is always end up in lower quality photos anyway,
- dedicated shutter button is nice but not worth extra money,
- wireless charging absense on Zenfone is bad, I agree.
expandable storage big one for me. honesty I think it will depend on which one goes on sale first
What do you prefer about a glass back? And do you not use a case?
Like 1 or 2 weeks ago I still had an update with the 5ii
Thank you. I subscribed to see the comparison between this and zenphone 9 as there are no video on youtube about it
I hope I can get it looks great
Waiting for camera comparison videos. Thanks...
Biggest channel for Xperia
Looking forward to see you testing it. Please also test battery life, selfie quality and "snappiness" of the UI. Maybe you can compare it to the 10 VI. This could be the flagship of the year.
Forgot to mention, as a photographer, can you include point and shoot photography in your tests and compare it to manual mode quality.
Espero que el Xperia 1 V salga con ese mismo color ! Saludos cordiales desde Chile 🇨🇱😎🔥
Super... Beautiful design... 👍 👍 👍
How much would it cost Sony to include a charger, and cable?
In terms of value for money just look at what Motorola includes with it's new Edge 30 Ultra.
I think only the review models are without charger, i bought an xperia 5 mk3 from the sony website and it came with a charger
Sony Xperia 1 vi great size, natural colors, square shape, headphone jack and sd card slot 🖤🤍
Also compare it to the xperia 5ii to see how far the camera has been improved.
Waiting for overheating test on this phone
Me too!
Zit er goed uit ik heb zelf nu de Sony 1ii doet het goed leuk om te zien dat Sony ook goed koper smartphone maak 🤗🤔😎
As probably many people I'm waiting for a phone that will replace s10e. Now it is between 5 IV and zenfone 9. Reviews compare mostly cameras, but for many of us it's not that important (every phone will make nice pictures and it is enough, probably a little better after software updates).
I wany to know if it gets hot while using Bt, wifi and YT or a game while charging, or connected to android auto, are speakers better, what battery life can we expect with average use, which screen is better, can you connect usb-c to hdmi, how fast is wi-fi direct or any other screen sharing. Still, it was good info for the beginning :)
Better off with the 1 iv.
@@generalking9029 It's not better, just new and too large for me. I also don't like, that most producers dont count cameras in their sizes. Some of us just need good phones, not tablets with professional cameras :)
Watching from my Xperia 5 III
For overheating, I know everyone's fixated on the camera shutting off, but I'm more curious on what the user experience is like in say multitasking (web browsing + video streaming) or gaming, for extended periods while charging. Does the phone feel comfortable to hold? Does the screen refresh rate drop?
I see you have the Moondrop Kato ;) It'd be cool if you could compare/ evaluate the sound quality of the headphone jacks, since I think it may be one of the reasons people consider these phones. Which have more power (can go louder)? Which sound better quality (although I don't expect too much difference here)?
Really appreciate it!
Second it, testing those aspects would help assessing the 5 IV as a daily driver
Thank you for giving amazing details. Still in my country is not yet available. There is an issue with the 1 mark 4, the slot is for one sim and other for the micro sd and the other sim is esim. I don't like the idea and the functionality of the esim, can you check for this one if in both cases of the slot ca enter a physical nano sim and to be recognized? Greatly appreciated!
It is the same here. eSim and nanoSim
Great review thank you. Is this device much smaller than the Xperia 5 mk2? It didn't look like it in your video. Thanks!
It is not. Almost the same
@@lltechview Thankyou 👍
Can I cut it to 18:9? /s
Sometimes seems the 1iv has darker color in general and details the 5 is better supposedly the lense are the same to except for zooming
For CZcams and browsing using split screen, will it overheat?
The best for 2022.
I love the phone 🌺
Mein Exemplar (in Ecruweiß) ist auch heute angekommen. Ich werde es als Zweitgerät für die Arbeit nutzen. Bin schon auf deine Meinung gespannt 😊
That was fast :-)
I believe like its bigger brother there is only 1 sim slot +1 microsd (and esim this year)
You are right. Dual Sim but with 1 esim and 1 nanoSim
Dear Bro! please clarify the overheating problem! I wanna purchase.
An international student in Saudi Arabia.
Thanks for the video! Is it possible a small test to see the signal in calls? It is a problem in the latest generations of Xperia phones. A small comparison with the Zenphone for example to check the clarity of calls in rural areas or areas with poor signal? Thank you !
I tested both and had no issues with calls. The Zenfone 9 had some 5G issues where it went no connection at all or super slow. Fixing it by limiting it to 4G/LTE.
The Sony did not have such issues
@@lltechview Thanks. I mean in conversations on calls. I had to sell my Xperia 1 Mark III because the conversations were cut off... I live in a rural house with little signal, but I would love the Xperia 5 iv if it weren't for maybe the same signal problems in calls
@@PaKDucati hard to test then for me. All my tests with calling did not show any problems
Looks good 👍
3:28 I don't know if this phone has a universal slot for memory cards and sim2 because I see have eSIM and on slot don't printed SIM2
Yeah only 1 nano sim and microSD card. Second sim can only be eSim
The Asus Zenfone does not have a Micro SD Card! Pre-ordered in USA with the Sony earbudfs thrown in, but won't get it until 10-31-2022. Patience ...
How do you like the 5 iv ?
Good review, do you find the loudspeakers the same as 1 iv? Thanks
Yes
@@lltechview thanks, I'll get mine very soon.
Nice
I want to buy experia 10 iv
overheating problems in xperia 5IV ? wanna buy , but afraid of the overheating problem and battery quickly depletion,
Overheating (not fast charging) directly leads to battery failure, that's true. Saw the prove of it in laptops many times.
I will check that out
Around 4:15 you said 5ii is 2x zoom? But isn't it 3x?
Oh you are right. Its 70mm which is 3x. The Pro i had this 50mm one that is only 2x
The real selling point of these phones are Photography Pro, Videography Pro, and Cinematography Pro. These are great - if you know how to use them. Photography Pro is next to no one, IMO. If you are not interesting in these then there are interesting alternatives indeed.
using it intensively, overheating problems?
Not so far
Hello bro i am from india
How do we charge this mobile bcz there is no charger in the box ??
You take any other USB-C charger that came with another phone or you can buy. USB-PD standard conform chargers work fine.
On Pixel u cant get rid of the search Bar.
Really!? Thats bad
Is this green more green than the 1 III green?
Should be the same
can this phone be suitable to use in australia?
I used the 5 II in New Zealand and it worked fine. So my guess is yeah
Please tell us it overheats
Thank you
Yeah will check that out. But its cold here atm. so harder to check
Which charger U recommend & how can I get it, please?
See my latest video about the Voltme GaN Charger. I can recommend this one
@@lltechview Okay, Thanks a lot, bro!
Wich is better
The Sony 5 iv or the Zenfone 9 ?
There will be multiple camera comparisons and I also plan to do a comparison of both devices regarding software and other features besides cameras.
@@lltechview great
Someone is super chuffed about their Xperia 10k subs that will be arriving in the mail soon
Probably gonna buy zenfone 9 anyway, but i will wait for comparison. I like Sony design more but i can't stand the price and this shit sd 8 gen 1. Zenfone got nice design too and it's also better with performance and don't throttle that much. I would love to see heavy gaming test too like playing genshin for a hour or too with battery drain etc
Are you a full time CZcamsr.
Nope. Thats just a hobby
This or $1199 Pro-I?
Pro i has better main cam for sure. But only 120 fps 4k on the main not ultrawide or tele cam
It's worth buying??
Yeah
🙏🙏🙏
Sony of the king
Xperia 5 IV is better than Zenfone 9, but Sony should reduce the starting price to 800 or at least 900 to make it more competitive
mate 50 pro unboxing
Yeah have to wait probably another month
@@lltechview Thank you we are waiting inshallah 🥰
I'm glad to see türkstr. Greetings from Turkey👋🏼
I think it's a great move to leave out stuff that most people already have. I already own good chargers, cables, headphones. Don't need more cheap earbuds to throw in a landfill. Plastic is destroying humanity ( look up microplastics in our blood and the effects of phalates). Plastic packaging and disposable electronics are a big part of that.
Maybe people just like idea of new stuff, even when it's junk? A happy medium might be offering a charger, usb c cable, and crap earbuds as bundle-priced add-ons when you order the phone.
The headphones Sony put in the MH750 are one of the best ones out there. People are even modding them to get replaceable cables. Anyway I agree with almost everything else. But Sony always had cheap power chargers in their packages. They could for their flagship at least ship the 30W charger that is necessary to charge the phone the fastest possible.
@@lltechview Forgot to say thanks for all your Sony and camera reviews!
Was the MH750 an audio player? Regardless, I doubt they're better than Sony's $300 earbuds or my Fiio IEMs. If a manufacturer is bundling high quality parts then they raise the price for everyone. I'd rather we only have to pay for what we want.
@@jayarmstrong Search for Sony MH-750 headphones. Those are the in ear ones they shipped with the 1 II and 5 II and all previous flagships at one point.
@@lltechview I agree too buy smart buy once, I don't need charger or earbuds in the box
Overcharged!!
Maybe
not even a cable included lul
Im thought SONY from japan 💔
1000 dollar phone with nothing but the phone in the box, the smartphone industry is pathetic and is only getting worse.
I guess I'll hoarde chargers ;p
Agreed. That's why I don't buy new phones from Samsung, Apple, Sony and few others but don't mind to buy new OnePlus or Huawei.
Don't buy a phone that exceeds your budget~~~
