    Thanks to the OEM for maximizing prices on ice to cover the EV balance sheet losses. Glad to see our bailout money is being well managed

    you mean the market for $100k ev pick up trucks is already saturated?

    Why doesn’t anyone note that the companies most retrenching on EVs, are the ones where the workers are ‘represented’ by the same, anti-competitive, monopoly auto union? One that has been de facto anti-EV for years?

    • @craigyirush3492
      @craigyirush3492 Před 16 dny

      yeah, blame the union. Surely it’s their fault and has nothing to do with the public who, quite reasonably, don’t want to buy EVs.

    How can true investors possibly think the best thing for the company is to cut R&D….and instead to waste it by buying back shares? Are you friggin’ kidding me??? That’s how a company becomes MORE uncompetitive. And by the way, the average ‘cost of ownership’ INCREASES with a cutback in EVs. Are you’all even listening to yourselves?

    Until the market recovers? You mean until the public wants to buy EVs? Not holding my breath …

    Working Americans want affordable safe clean quality transportation. "More of the same" from legacy auto does not cut it. Unfortunately, US politicians are stuck on protections and tariffs, which stifles investment in competitive tech. Demand would be higher if automakers produced competitive vehicles. Stock buybacks solve no problems. Tesla is 100% Made in USA, Model Y top-selling car globally last year. But there is s clear effort to demonize EVs exactly when we need many more of them. Because Ford, GM, Stellantis can't compete anymore.

    Maybe sales would be better if youmade a simple $20k affordable analog EV without foolish features, computers, AI controls that no one wants.

    Chinese 🇨🇳 electric cars are *heavily subsidized* by many levels of Chinese government. Some people bought them, threw them away without driving, and still made profits.
    - That's why there are millions of new cars abandoned by owners across the country.
    And this is not an exaggeration.

    • @claytonmeisner4620
      @claytonmeisner4620 Před 22 dny +2

      Exactly, we have never subsidized our car industry. Except in 2008 when they received billion, oh and last year when they received billions to build ev plants, and a few years ago in Canada when they were given a billion to keep a plant open. Add up all the subsidies Chinese ev manufacturers have gotten and add up those of the big 3 and let me know on the difference. Also, you must consider that only 4 years ago, china had 600 auto makers so how much did they receive each, rather than throwing an absolute number at the wall. I would bet the farm that anyone of the big three have received more in subsidies that even BYD, china’s larger auto maker

      @@claytonmeisner4620Bidennomics, carried over from Obamanomics that never have worked. The only one who wasn’t bailed out was Ford in 2009 though. You throw in the ex Michigan governor Granholm and everything was and is disastrous, for the taxpayer.
      We gave Chrysler away. GM filed bankruptcy because of UAW’s inability to help cut legacy costs. Now here we’re again boosting the UAW during good times going bad.

    I have the ford lightning and the main problem is pricing. If it was $40000 they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.
    I have a ford lightning in my fleet and it so quiet and smooth that its now my wife favorite vehicle and her daily driver. Have the mache also and it just not the same level as the lightning. Awd is slower but more stable than the lightning. Lightning just insane speed and you really don't need anything faster.

    We should allow Chinese EVs in the USA. We can’t compete globally with China on EVs. Tesla will be fine, they have a great product. But we need more serious competition for EVs.

    Ford is gonna end up like Nokia, Microsoft mobile, Blackberry, kodak and Jaguar. They lost a lot of reputation with those crappy eco tec engines. The coolant system for those and in general all ford's was not fit for purpose
