  • Winston Marshall was the lead guitarist and a founding member of Mumford & Sons. In 2021, he tweeted out a link to a book by Andy Ngo. The book titled "Unmasked" documented the ANTIFA riots of 2020, particularly in Seattle and Portland. Marshall hailed the controversial journalist -- whom some consider a right-wing provocateur -- with a tweet to his small Twitter following. A mob soon came for him.
At the urging of his band, he eventually issued an apology. But that apology ate at him since he remained convinced he had done nothing wrong. He retracted the apology with a Medium piece in which he announced he would be leaving the band.
In this video, he opens up about that time period and how he feels today. He has since launched a show and recently gained acclaim for debating Nancy Pelosi.

That last few seconds of his face when he infers his band and & management's actions: 'It's been a very difficult time, ... er, yeah, ... um ... it was.. it's was ..still difficult.'
The complete and utter disappointment in his voice & face is heart wrenching!
It interpret that as otherwise stated as: 'They were my friends, my 'family', and they deserted me! They have zero backbone, Zero morals, zero integrity! '

He was courageous - and somewhat naive - at the time of this tweet. Shame on his fellow bandmembers (you're vicious cowards, the lot of you), but he had grown into a very interesting, intelligent, and positive public figure.

As a guitarist you are always replaceable, so you gotta jump when the boss says jump. I remember in that Beatles documentary when George walked out Paul and John were discussing it and John just said “ if George isn’t here tomorrow I called Clapton and he will join”. If George Harrison is replaceable then anybody is

I'm going to assume that you wouldn't be able to even partially define what a fascist is or why fascism is bad without googling it.
