@@chkldstgee2433 'Woke" as a terminology is rooted in mid 1900's African American vernacular and originally highlighted racial prejudices/discrimination.
Since the rise of the BLM movement in 2010's, the term has evolved (and frankly been hijacked by mainstream news media) to mean "highlighting social/racial/gendered inequalities through an intersectional identity political-centric lens".
The problem is if you read the key self proclaimed "woke" texts (White Fragility, Men Explain Things To Me, How the Irish Became White, Gender Trouble, etc) it's clear that they ALL view the world through an intersectional identity - centric lens....which can fall foul of seeing individuals as the sum of their identities - which can be dehumanising and reductionist.
For example, a famous woke claim is "black people can be prejudice....but they cannot be racist".
Think about how pernicious a widely held/agreed upon (in woke circles) statement like that can have and then you'll understand why you have incidents such as when Jimmy Fallon was doing a joke about the decreasing white American population....and the crowd cheered before he got to the punchline....and you can see he was caught off guard by the crowds reaction clearly conflicted... being that he's white European himself. (It's on CZcams...).
"Wokeism" can be hugely divisive but also can be hugely beneficial. For example, because of wokeism I was able to choose my words more carefully when working in an office with people who subscribe to wokeism....I now know - thanks to wokeism - that I'm a white passing cis heterosexual male with certain social interactive privileges that come with that.....but I also know bull shit when I see it. For example, when a gay guy at work makes a complaint to HR of homophobia against my homosexual boss (he didn't know he was gay)..... that's when I can't help but laugh at the back....

My wife's friend's Daughter in law works as a nurse in a children's hospital. They are doing this to pre-teens at the parents' behest . These parents are sick it's child abuse. I have a 12 year old grandson and constantly worry about what he's being taught in school. Give children time to grow into adulthood and they can make informed decisions for themselves.
