What do you think is the greatest "Lost" hit of the 80s? Tell us below!
What would you put as your top 5 gta tracks from all the gta games from Vice City to Now.
I was telling someone only today that Poplife was one of my favourite Prince songs. Along with When You Were Mine, even the Cyndi Lauper version. I love much of his discography.
So glad you decided to revisit this series.
Philip Oakey
& Giorgio Maroder’s
Title track from the almost forgotten 1984 movie
Electric Dreams
the song
Together in electric dreams
In my humblest opinion
is a not to be missed
hidden gem!
I
The Prince song I would have picked would be "Mountains" from Under the Cherry Moon. A minor hit, but my all time favorite Prince song.
Thanks for including Billy Idol’s ‘Sweet Sixteen’ off his 3rd full length solo album WHIPLASH SMILE, and it’s haunting backstory. There was a color alternative video shot of Idol playing amongst the coral castle itself(if you search under ‘Billy Idol Sweet Sixteen (subtitulado español)’you will see this very rare video. Being a longtime Generation X fan and Idol’s influence making me want to sing rock n’ roll, and knowing vast amount of his history I have become bewildered I have no why this video wasn’t used instead. But certainly the black and white solo performance certainly keeps an air of mystery about the art of the song itself…
Some of my favorite hidden gems from the 80s:
The Politics of Dancing - Re-Flex
The Captain of her Heart - Double
The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades - Timbuk 3
Digging Your Scene - The Blow Monkeys
Belly of the Whale - Burning Sensations
The Walls Came Down - The Call
Shout to the Top - The Style Council
Digging Your Scene. That's a beautiful sophisti-pop song. One of my favorites
I play guitar in a cover band where we cover songs from the 70’s - 90’s...we try to include as many ‘hidden gems’ as we can. People seem to really enjoy those songs that they remember, yet aren’t overplayed on classic rock stations today.
I'm a rap producer and independent artist. I always look to 80s new wave, 70s punk and glam rock for inspiration. Because as the Professor says, this is the best music of our lifetime.
It really is the best!
80s new wave for sure
1) Cry - Godley and Creme 2)Steppin' Out - Joe Jackson
3) Don’t Change - INXS 4) Gloria - U2
5) Heavy Metal - Don Felder 6) Salt In My Tears - Martin Briley
7) I Know Theres Something Going On - Frida
8) Missing You - Dan Fogelberg
Oops, sorry, got carried away!
I burned several of those to a CD a few years ago. Great list!
Heavy Metal and Salt In My Tears!! Two terrific songs!
I Know There's Something Going On is fantastic! Phil Collins on the drums really makes that song more haunting.
"Trouble" is another one of my favorite forgotten 80's gems. They play it at Walmart occasionally, and I can't help but sing and dance every time it comes on!
Very Cool!
I was going to comment that I heard them playing it at Walmart yesterday 😊
Dude, you're a hidden gem, in the community of nostalgia. Thank you, for all you do, bro. Your videos always make me smile. Living in a world like this, we need more positivity. 👍
Godley & Creme’ Cry’, David & David ‘Welcome to the Boomtown’, icicleworks “whisper to a scream’, the Suburbs ‘love is the law’ and just about anything from Talk Talk ..I think that is a decent start for part two, maybe?
Another band I’ve been waiting to see chronicled. Love that David and David album!!
"Cry" is terrific. Find the Miami Vice video on YT.
David & David's first and only album is in my Top 20 All Time favorite Albums
Thanks for mentioning Talk Talk they are so much more than It’s My Life. Have You heard the News, Tomorrow’s Started or Renee to name a few
David and David "Boomtown" is a beautifully dark album. Too dark, I guess, for most. Good call, Max!
"One Step Ahead"-Split Enz
"Local Girls"-Graham Parker & The Rumor
"Open Letter To A Landlord"-Living Colour
"Salt In My Tears"-Martin Briley
"Slip Of The Tongue"-The Tubes
Also "I got you" and "Message to my girl." Split Enz.
5. Only The Lonely, by The Motels
4. Luka, by Suzanne Vega
3. Don’t Get Me Wrong, by The Pretenders
2. Not My Slave, Oingo Boingo
1. Heartbreak Beat, by The Psychodelic Furs
Robbie Nevil - C'est La Vie
The Fixx - Secret Separation
The Vapors - Turning Japanese
Suboceana - The Tom Tom Club
Michael Sembello - Gravity
I totally thought you were gonna say "Holiday Road" for the Lindsey Buckingham pick(s). Love that song!
Great song, but not a HIDDEN gem. A gem for sure though.
great song and a great movie
"If you think you hate it now, wait til you drive it across country with the whole tribe!"
I always liked 'Hot In The City' by Billy Idol. A really cool song that peaked at #23!
The Dead Next Door
To Be a Lover.
Reminds of "Booker" any time I hear it.
Belle of St Mark Sheila E
This House is where your love stands- Big Sound Authority 1985
Arizona Sky- China Crisis 1986
The day before you came- Blancmange 1984
Closest thing to heaven- Kane Gang 1984
Blue Diamond- H20 1987
Love Parade- Dream Academy
I always challenge your 'forgotten' 80s list but i love these 5 picks..especially 'sweet sixteen'...Still wanna throw in my 5...1'love parade', Dream Academy..2 'forever live and die;. OMD..3 'everything she wants', Wham..4 'invisible', Allison Moyet...5 'i keep forgetting', Michael Mcdonald..
That Michael McDonald song was pretty big, though... plus, it was generously sampled in the mid-90s for the Warren G & Nate Dogg jam, “Regulate.” ✌️
“Send Her My Love” by Journey.
Kenny Loggins was the king of the movie soundtracks in the 80s. The short list includes Caddyshack, Footloose, Top Gun, Over the Top, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
And his 2 ex-wives get all the money from those royalties. I heard him interviewed about a decade ago and he jokingly said he didn't want anyone to listen to those soundtrack songs anymore because his exes get the money from it.
Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry - Don't Fiight It
I love 1988's "Nobody's Fool" I got the movie just for that song. I kid you not. It's my favorite among many favorites from 1988.
Underrated Prince song, Controversy....people never mention that one and I think its one of his best
It's my favourite song of his.
It was amazing live! 💜
"computer blue"
Something always calls me to CZcams right when you upload... And it's not a notification. Keep em coming, Adam! Thanks much for all the hard work.
Thank you! More to come!
"Trouble" came out in my 1st year at university. Same with "Leather and Lace". You simply heard them everywhere. Even now, I only need to hear the first few notes and I'm transported back to my first dorm room, the beautiful campus and all the new friends I made. Thanks again for the memories!
Speaking of "Trouble", how about "Go Insane" as a lost hit. I always liked that one.
Both good ones, as was “Holiday Road”...
I was gonna comment the very same thing! What a truly forgotten gem. Its spooky and strange yet engrossing. Such a great song!
"Go Insane" is awesome tune! ❤
Excelent song and it sounds in an episode of Miami Vice
That's the one that I thought he was going to talk about in the lead up to it.
Love, love, love Trouble. That Buckingham classic is featured in the film Just One of the Guys. Holiday Road from National Lampoon's Vacation is another vital Buckingham classic
A great 5er...I always thought Pop Life by Prince was never appreciated as much as it should have been. I truly an under appreciated Prince song. And that Footloose soundtrack was hit after hit. The 80s was the decade of the mega movie soundtrack along with all the other fantastic music. Def a decade that will never be repeated..
The 80s was a great decade for Canadian rock too: Saga, Rush, Triumph, Gordon Lightfoot, April Wine, Guess Who, Frozen Ghost, Trooper, Tragically Hip, Aldo Nova, Haywire, Chilliwack, Prism, The Grapes Of Wrath, Coney Hatch, Goddo, The Partland Brothers, Straight Lines, Jeff Healy, The Kings, The Band, Harlequin, Toronto, Max Webster, Kim Mitchell, Gino Vannelli, Doug & The Slugs, Rough Trade, Cowboy Junkies, Red Rider, The Box, Frank Marino, Colin James, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn, Streetheart, Spirit Of The West, Skinny Puppy, Queen City Kids, Honeymoon Suite, Barenaked Ladies, Glass Tiger, BTO, Ian Thomas, Neil Young, 50% of the Blues Brothers, David Wilcox, Kick Axe, Northern Pikes, Parachute Club, Loverboy, Downchild Blues Band, Powder Blues Band, Headpins, Doucette, Blue Rodeo, Sweeny Todd, Sherriff, Bryan Adams, After All, Boulevard, Crash Test Dummies, Zappacosta, Shania Twain...and who can forget - Men Without Hats.
And Paul Janz
Here’s some gems that I never hear on the radio that are part of my 80’s playlist
Double - Captain Of Her Heart
Chris Rea - The Road To Hell
Toni Childs - Stop Your Fussin’
Mr. Mister - Something Real
Jermaine & Michael Jackson - Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming
Rockwell - Obscene Phone Caller
Human League - Love Action
Wow! This is a great list! I recognize the names, but have heard none of the songs. Making an attempt to create a quick playlist to list. Thanks!
Captain Of Her Heart is a great pick for this category.
Hey Dan, I made that playlist and it was the start of a great night out last night. Definitely got me in a light hearted mood to have fun. Thanks for sharing!
Captain of Her Heart has always been a favorite
Love when I put on Trouble, it surprises a lot of people.
You had me at Welcome to the Real World! Is It Love is a great song.
Random... I love Kenny Loggins. One of the best voices ever. Unreal. Lindsey is awesome and Billy Idol is under appreciated. His vocals on Eyes Without A Face are butter. 🧈 👌🏼😝
Break Away - Big Pig
Underneath the Radar - Underworld
Belly of the Whale - Burning Sensations
Blue Kiss - Jane Wiedlin
Sign your Name - Terence Trent D'Arby
Just Like You - Robbie Nevil
"Puttin' On The Ritz" by Taco-Granted it's an old song, but I like the job Taco did on it.
Fully agree. Taco is a class act and still making music and acting.
So right about “Is It Love” by Mr Mister! That song deserves more attention than it gets! SO good!
AGREED!!!
Lindsey Buckingham the genius behind the FM sound for sure. ♥️ oh Billy Idol too, another underrated singer!
Great video as always! I love Lindsey Buckingham's Go Insane. I remember that being on the radio a lot like it was yesterday. It's a great song that fits in with its place and time perfectly. It seems like you never hear it today. Also, I'd forgotten about I'm Free, but recognized it immediately. Great pick!
Bourgeois Tagg ~ Mutual Surrender
The Pasadenas ~ Tribute
Living In A Box ~ Living In A Box
Basia ~ New Day For You
Jermaine Jackson feat. Devo ~ Let Me Tickle Your Fancy
I would also add
Cool Places by Sparks
A Town Called Malice by The Jam
I Dont Like Mondays by Boomtown Rats
Whose Behind The Door by Zebra
Never Say Never by Romeo Void
Now Its My Turn by Berlin
Honeymoon Suite "I Got A New Girl Now", that's my gem. Love your channel!
Bad Attitude from The Big Prize.
Loved both of those first albums. Got to see them live in 85/86 at a small local bar in Hicksville OH.
Good call. 👍
@@bbarnhouse9022 I seen them in the late 80's, early 90's in Windsor, Canada. Great show.
Yes and burning in love, stay in the light. A good band.
Some hidden gems for me:
Hyperactive - Thomas Dolby
The Prisoner - Howard Jones
Welcome To The Boomtown - David and David
Marlene On The Wall - Suzanne Vega
Closer To Fine - Indigo Girls
Ain't Even Done With The Night - John (Cougar) Mellencamp
Suzanne's "Luca" song still brings tears to my eyes.😔
....OOOOOH, "The Prisoner"!! ...Howard at his DARKEST, yessssss......
Another great video Professor. I always liked I’m Free more than Footloose.
Here are my top 5 hidden gems of all time (in no particular order)
#5 - “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off” Jermaine Stewart
#4 - “Prove Your Love” Taylor Dayne
#3 - “Too Late For Goodbyes” Julian Lennon
#2 - “I Wanna Go Back” Eddie Money
#1 - “Don’t Shed A Tear” Paul Carrack
...me LIKEY!
Charlie Sexton- Beats So Lonely. That track has such a great groove! I can get a crowds attention or fly down the highway.
Let’s not forget
Charlie Sextons
equally great tune
Impressed (85’)
State of the nation - Industry
Centipede - Reba Jackson
Catch me I'm falling - Real Life
On The Loose - Saga
Forgotten songs but huge airplay when released.
first thing I think of in this category is "Only the Young" by Journey, brought to my attention in the film Vision Quest, because I've never once heard it on the radio (post 80s). When I think of solo Buckingham "Holiday Road" has my heart, not under appreciated but certainly unknown to people younger than me (40ish).
More Visionquest love! Come on Prof!! Put on some tights and get down on the mat with us!
Vision Quest was a great movie. Lunatic Fringe a great song off that album
"Only the Young" was also the first song on Journey's "Greatest Hits" album. A great one that never gets played anymore. :(
@@corkycobon1481 Lunatic Fringe. Cool song!
Only the young is my favorite song by Journey.
Here's my "Lost" collection: (forgotten or underappreciated)
Save It For Later - The Beat 1982
Will The Wolf Survive - Los Lobos 1984
In Circles - Benjamin Orr 1986
World Where You Live - Crowded House 1986
Nineteen Forever - Joe Jackson 1989
I don't know if it is a hidden gem but I want to suggest: Life in a Northern Town.
Great song😁
Kingdom Comes “Get it on” is never played. Don’t know why. It’s sounds sooo good.
Great picks ! And I especially agree about "Pop Life" - BRILLIANT lyrics, instant hook, timeless funk.
Hidden 80s Gems
Fine Young Cannibals - Good Thing
Miami Sound Machine - Words Get In The Way
Rick Astely - It Would Take A Strong Man
Chicago - Along Comes A Woman
Cindy Lauper - All Through the Night
Any song from
Siouxsie and the Banshees
But here’s two in my humblest opinion shouldn’t be overlooked
for your list
Are
Dazzle (84’)
Last Beat Of My Heart (88’)
✌🏻
How about Rick's smarter brother, John, with "Jane's Getting Serious"! ;-)
What I thought I’d do in this list is a bit different -
Pick an additional personal favorite choice of a mostly forgotten 80s track
from each of the artists the POR featured in this video: 😀✌️
1. Mr Mister : “Run to Her “ and “the Border”, both good lush, soft rockers.
2. Kenny Loggins: His fiery duet with Steve Perry “Don’t Fight It “.
3. Lindsey Buckingham: I really think his’84 album Go Insane was one of the best albums of the year .
If it had been put out under the name “Fleetwood Mac” it would have been a hit at least on the level of Tusk. The title track was a very modest hit (#23 with a surrealistic video) that’s certainly as good or better than “Trouble”, Or for that matter “Talk to Me”.
His “Holiday Road”-a #82 Synonymous to most people
with the hit comedy National Lampoon’s Vacation-
Is also great fun- including the barking dogs 🐕 heh.
4. It’s hard to call a #6 a forgotten song but in Billy Idol’s case I think it’s fair to say his
“To be a Lover” -a wonderfully inventive cover of a’68 soul record by William Bell-Seems to have gotten
A bit Lost in the shuffle of Billy’s good dozen big hits. As fun as his covers of Mony Mony and LA Woman are, To me they pale in comparison to TBAl.
5. Prince: I’ll pick one of the B-sides that got more air-play when I was in high school
than a lot of other people’s A-sides-
The B-side to Let’s Go Crazy: “Erotic City. “
As different musically as they are -Having B-sides
That other artists would love to have as A-sides-
is something P certainly had in common with Springsteen.
Both were very prolific while keeping the quality very, very high.
To be a lover is a good track. One of my favorite of his.
@@timhanna4700 😎🤟
I'm Free and it's synth bass have always fascinated me. Give me that song over Footloose any day.
Professor ..
Love & Rockets ,
Gene Loves Jezebel
Echo & the Bunnymen
are just a few bands
that need to be highlighted
PS. I’m about your same age with similar musical taste
and you professor always put
an interesting spin on the history of rock that’s always worth watching
Keep Rocking 🤘🏻
“I don’t know what color your eyes are baby but your hair is long and brown…”
“What you get is what you see - desire!”
Let add Siouxsie and the Banshees to that list!
Outstanding presentation. My new favorite CZcams channel.
Your response when referencing the Shalamar track was great. I also have a soft spot for tunes in that vein...they take me back in time to being in grade school and hanging out at the roller rink. Back then my music collection was largely missing the first few seconds of each song as they were taped off of the radio.
This series is really appreciated. There are so many great songs that are just criminally overlooked in playlists and comps. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on some of them.
Truly hidden gems Professor! Love these great 80's songs! Thanks for bringing back the memories with these great songs!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love the hidden gems!! And I totally agree with you Billy idol is so dang underrated love him!! And I'm free is my 2nd favorite Kenny Loggins song.....I'm a sucker for FOREVER!! that song gets me everytime......great as usual professor...till next time 3 chords and the truth my friend
"Satisfaction Guaranteed"by The Firm is an amazing song that never gets played.
"Don't You Know What The Night Can Do" by Steve Winwood is another.
"Night Shift" post Lionel Commodores song is often overlooked.
"Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" by Hall and Oates. A great song
"Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive" by Men At Work rounds out my top 5 hidden gems.
Great songs!
One in a million ..the romantics
I remember "Trouble" from early childhood, hence it being from 1981. The others aren't particularly favorites of mine, though sure I heard on the radio or saw on MTV. A lot of my favorites are hidden gems because they weren't number ones.
You are awesome and so is Zenni. Great show as always.
A hidden gem from that magical year of music 1984 for me is "Heartbeat City" by the Cars - A true calssic that is truly underrated imho
Keep these videos coming! 👍
Sweet Sixteen.. my favorite Billy Idol song.
Trifecta!
Right up there with
Don’t need a gun and
Catch my Fall 👍🏻
These 80s hidden gems videos always give me at least one new song to add to my 80’s iTunes playlist. Either a song I had completely forgotten about or a song I knew but never appreciated as much back in my teen years when I first heard it. Amazing feeling. Thanks.
After all, the music of the 80s is the best.
It really is!
13 year old me had a huge crush on the female lead in that Mr Mister song.. Great tune
I would like to add,
Heart - Tell it Like it is
Europe - Carrie
Prince - Batdance
Laura Branigan - Solitare
Styx - Don't Let it End
Buckner and Garcia - Pac-Man Fever
Awesome awesome awesome list of 5 hidden 80’s gems, PoR! And sifting through all of the other comments and others’ gems it just goes to show you how MUCH GREAT music the 80’s gave us👍🏻 It’s really impossible to pinpoint just 5 or 10 songs because there are literally several hundreds of songs that are equally as classic and equally timeless and beyond superior👌🏼😎love them 80’s tunes!❤️🎵
I love all your picks! Especially Trouble and Pop Life. My number one song for a forgotten 80’s hit is Send me an Angel by Real Life. I would also choose Under the Milkway by The Church. Both are great songs that have a unique 80’s sound. There are a hundred more I could list. Keep up the great videos!
"Trouble" is sublime pop mastery, and a great song for the mental soundtrack of life when I have found myself in slightly problematic moments... 'I think I'm in trouble...'
I say as a Prince fanatic that "Pop Life" is one of his best songs. 💜💜💜💜💜
Always nice to see Lyndsey Buckingham and The Purple Yoda get the accolades they both deserve. Hat tip, Adam 🙏🏼 Bravo!
Trouble and I'm Free, two great songs that I listen to all the time. I've always opined that the video for I'm Free is one of the best music videos of all time.
My favorite 80s song never played on the radio is Emotions in Motion from Billy Squier with Freddy Mercury and Roger Taylor on backing vocals.
Great episode Professor!
Pop Life is awesome tune! ❤
Billy Idol “Sweet Sixteen” is one of my favorite songs. Really great song!! Adore Billy and still listen to his music. Billy is one of my ultimate favorite artists.
Awesome selection!
Great list brother!
This is the best series on your channel. Every time it brings back crazy memories. I am a child of the eighties in every sense. I haven't heard any of these songs in at least 20 years and its cool to remember them
Kenny Loggins absolutely killed it in the 80's especially with the song I'm Free, I don't see why that never got more play cus the song slays....Danger zone is cool but I'm free is next level, radio's afraid of the really good stuff lolz
😈
You absolutely nailed this one Adam!
This video pulled me straight back to high school! I loved all these songs. I graduated in 1988 and these songs helped me through high school. Thank you so much for this episode!
pop life is one my favorite prince´s songs ever
Hey Adam! Found your channel a few months back because of your 80s hidden gem videos. I was born in 81 and had radio music and MTV as the background to life. It truthfully drowned out the reality that was life. Because of that I can't remember a lot of my childhood, but the songs and melodies are hauntingly familiar. Like you, I distinctively remember songs without knowing titles/artists. I remember Level 42's "Something About You" being on a loop in my mind for decades. When I saw your video interviewing Mike Lindup, I was FINALLY able to connect the dots.
I don't have a fiver for this one, but I have a couple you haven't touched yet (at least that I've seen so far).
"Waiting for a Star to Fall" - Boy Meets Girl (1988)
Real life couple (at the time) Shannon Rubicam and George Merrill were successful songwriters for Whitney Houston ("How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)") when they wrote "Waiting For A Star to Fall" after seeing a shooting star at a Whitney concert at LA's The Greek Theater. This song was one of those ear worm songs that trigger a place and time, like the so many of your list songs do. It was re-released in 1990 on the '3 Men & A Little Lady' soundtrack in 1990.
"Luka" - Suzanne Vega (1987)
One of those background tracks I alluded to earlier. I often thought I was a little crazy as I was one of the only kids who knew this song, let alone knew the words back to front. In hindsight, when I refund the song and lyrics on the net, I finally understood why the adults around me would ask, "Why are you singing that song?" I just liked it, didn't know the underlying meaning. The irony of me liking the song, singing it, and not knowing its meaning while living it is... downright haunting.
That's all I have for now. Something I would hope to see from you eventually might be a focus on the Pop/R&B genre of the late 80s - mid 90s focusing specifically on groups who fell into the genre populated with looped prefabbed background tracks, BUT they themselves played their songs live as a group of musicians rather than having the background track (whether recorded or played in accompaniment). Two groups off the top of my head were/are Joe Public and Mint Condition. I'm sure there were many more that fell into this niche.
Also, maybe a fiver each of songs written by Prince and Kenny Edmonds that were hits by artists other than them. Them as artists are undeniable, but their songwriting abilities are just as legendary as their own artistry.
Thanks for the daily music trips. They make the tough days easier and the good days better.
Craig
Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii
Kyrie is still very popular in the English music FM radio stations here in Mexico.
My list of 80s hidden gems that don't get as much attention today includes: "When I'm With You" by Sheriff (Canadian band that had already broken up by the time this song was re-released in 1989), "La Bamba" by Los Lobos (a great singalong song from summer '87), "Party Man" by Prince (the follow-up to "Batdance" from 1989), "Shattered Dreams" by Johnny Hates Jazz (a big hit from 1988), "Nobody's Fool" (another soundtrack hit by Kenny Loggins, this one from "Caddyshack 2" in 1988), and "I Know What I Like" by Huey Lewis & the News (from 1987, the follow-up to "Jacob's Ladder" that has just as much kick).
Yes! I loved this song! "When I'm With You" by Sheriff
Two members of Sherriff went on to form Frozen Ghost and two became Alias. Sherriff was one of the bands in the voting to play at our Grad dance (82) along with contenders Chilliwack, Straight Lines, Sweeney Todd and Stonebolt. Personally I wanted Rush, April Wine, Streetheart or Frank Marion & Mahogony Rush but apparently we didn't sell enough baked goods, bottles, candles and chocolate covered almonds... Stonebolt it was!
Dang! You hit it with that one! Forgot all about Sheriff. Joe Dirt brought that one back for me, great song. 👍
Around the World In a Day is so underrated
Man i gotta tell you Adam, your musical tastes of the 80's are scary identical to mine... all these 5 i love .... especially Trouble by Lindsey Buckingham.. such great memories as a kid listening to these on the radio... keep up the amazing work and content! -Dan Moroney
Glad you brought up I'm Free. I just bought the Footloose vinyl mainly for that song. My favorite Loggins song from the 80's.
Pop Life was also another underappreciated Prince single along with "Mountains" and "Good Love" from the Bright Lights Big City soundtrack
Five great picks Professor, easily 50 more to choose from. Who would have thought the world was going to peak in the 80's? Nothing but fond memories and the longing to return...
Agree with you on Lindsey Buchanan as a guitarist, how about some stuff with some of the ladies of the 80's, Pat, Cyndi, Bonnie,Tina, Lina, Sade. Lots of hidden gems there. Thanks for sharing all your hard work, love it
Did you do one with Donnie Iris, 'Leah'? If not, that one should be on a list you do.
He did a whole video on it a while back which was enjoyable
@@HubertofLiege I will go check it out. Thank you!! 😁👍
Thank you for including heaven helps the man-I'm free. That song is so underrated and it's one of those gems that take me back when I hear it and amp me up
Serious Duran Duran
Sho You Right Barry White
Dreamtime- Daryl Hall
Don't Walk Big Supreme
Loving the Alien- Bowie
Absolute Beginners- Bowie
....OK, you GOT it, just on "Serious", alone! ...ha-HAA!! >shoYOUright
@@RBS_ Thank you!
Love watching your station brings back all the best memories as a very young adult my 20s were the best damn times of life they were fun every time I watch one of your episodes brings back good memories. All I need now is my Mullet all the way down my back & my parachute path and my members only jacket with a pair Reebok. Rock On 🤘
"I'm Free" was one of my favorite hits from the 80s! It was my passion anthem! Kenny Loggins' other song that meant so much to me was "Keep the Fire" from his album of the same name. Please make it one of your hidden 80s gems! And thanks for keeping the 80s alive, Professor!
Trouble was a great single with magnificent harmonies. Definitely had a Fleetwood Mac feel. Sounds smooth on the 📻. As for Pop Life , it is genius ! Life it aint that funky without it. Dig it ! 👌
Thanks for sharing!
Trouble is a great song that I do not hear on the radio often enough
@@MikeHart72 True. Actually nowadays you barely hear any Lindsay Buckingham at all. I know Christine McVie didn't many solo hits. Love Will Show Us How and Got A Hold On Me were her two biggest singles. They also don't play Over My Head or Say You Love Me. Buckingham and Nicks songs are the ones mostly played.
I wish they had done a Fleetwood Mac cover of the song - the harmonies would have been great.
Wow adam, you have out done yourself with this video, so many great songs , so many great memories, thanks , I needed this today at the moment I seen it pop up on my phone , you should be way more subscribers, I'm doing my part and telling all my music friends about it and they are telling their friends, you will make it , no worries!!

In my humblest opinion
You Can’t start the summer road trip off without Lindsey’s classic Holiday Road..
It’s a Must!
Great episode, Professor! I forgot about Is it love. Great song!
Hidden gems...the entire album Everywhere At Once by The Plimsouls!
Great album....but I doubt that it's mainstream enough for "The Prof"
The Oldest Story In The World ! Peter Case was Awesome 👌
So many to choose from: corey hart-sunglasses at night, you take me up-thompson twins, burning in love-honeymoon suite, if this is it-huey lewis and the news, tell me what's on your mind-information society, right by your side-eurythmics and many more
More Idol/Stevens please.
Both Amazing! Shaking their hands & getting picture with them @ a meet & greet after 1 of their 2016 Vegas shows is still a bucket list moment. Picture proudly displayed in my living room & always brings a smile to my face. ✊🎶
The fact that this video only has 600 likes should be considered a war crime...
...And, I'm prepared to do BATTLE! ...ha-HAA!! >fightinforthePROFESSOR
