That for sure is one neat wiring job. Good job buddy looks very nice.
Just got a wd so I'm watching every episode. I'm impressed and jealous at the same time.
Soooooo close Jason! That shell looks brand freakin new brother!! This thing could be in a car show it’s lookin so nice man. Looks amazing and I really enjoyed this one. Funny seeing snow, we’re in the mid 80s waiting for our “fall weather” of mid 70s after a week long cold front 🤣.
Thanks James! It is far from perfect, but still far nicer than when it was new! When I sanded it down I found lots of runs and places that never had paint at all. I'm glad I took the time to disassemble and paint everything. It was a lot of work, but its really paying off. We are only going to get in the 30's the next few days and a lot of snow this weekend. Way to early for this kind of weather. Might be a tough winter
I put a pertronix kit in my sons 2n ford, it was the best thing we ever did. keep at it your giting close.
Seems like everybody either loves or hates the pertronix, no in between. I was impressed with how easy the install was. I hope it works out good.
It's been a heck of a journey so far. Can't wait for the next one. I've taken a break on mine as I need to purchase tires for the rear and wow, the prices are crazy for new ones.
I've got a possible project that will need all four tires. I cringe at the thought of buying those
Nice clean wire harness. Looking forward to hearing the old girl run :)
Turned out real good, I wish I would have remembered to turn the camera on to film it all! It will be running in the next video
G'day I love this WD45 restomod great video 👍
Thanks, im nearly there now!
Clean and I mean *clean* installs my friend! 🙂👍 fantastic job. I cant wait to hear it run. The body work on the grill looks flawless buddy. I don't blame you one bit on the aftermarket meter. It still looks nice and I would bet its more reliable than the alternative 🙂👍take care Jason!
Thanks Zane! I'm not against doing upgrades on something like this. Not like its a rare tractor or anything. And it will get used, so i want it to be reliable
nice work! i have the repro amp gauge when i did my 12v works good and looks good. nice work with the wiring too.
Thanks! Wiring turned out real nice, but then again, its a pretty simple system!
You did a great job on that radiator shell Jason it literally looks brand new! The pertronix ignition coil you installed is a pretty cool piece of kit, and that it doesn’t get any simpler than three pieces for the dash👍. All the hard work is paying off Jason, I’m so excited to hear that thing run!!
Thanks Cody! I can't tell you how much I wish I had before and after pics of it now. The pertronix was a real easy conversion. It has impressed me so far.
I had all my tractors converted to pertronix. I changed them back after they all went out. Don't lose your isolater stud. I had trouble getting those.
I put all the original parts in the pertronix box and put them on the shelf. What plug wires did you use? The guy at the parts store told me if I used a wire core it would cause the pertronix to fail. I'm using carbon core wires that are supposed to work. Time will tell!
@@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 copper. I think long periods of not running hurts them the worst. No matter what ignition or charging system you have. Start em up a few times when your not using them and you're way better off. When the electronic goes out its $100!
Súper Job
Thanks, im glad you liked it
Nice neat wiring job Jason ! Do you have a detailed easy to follow wiring schematic available to download ? Also where did you find most of your parts for restoration ? Steiner ? You are very talented ! Made this look easy 🙂
What kind of soldering gun is that and where you located?
Good day Boy good looking. Alternator bracket work good . What did that electronic ignition cost. Never had that back in 80's Looking good. Thanks That white stuff falling on ground , please don't send it up here in Ont. LOL
Good morning Don! The electronic ignition module was $100 on eBay. The matching flamethrower coil was another $43, im not sure that was really necessary. We got snow Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I've never seen that here in Iowa before, not in October anyway! At least its still warm enough to melt right away
Where you located at...? looks Awesome!!
I'm in western Iowa.
@@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 south east nd. Here. Where did you get the electric points thing?
@@skkrump it was either Steiner's or DJ'S Tractor Parts. I don't remember anymore, but those two places are where I got nearly everything
Does the pertronix ignition need a ballast resistor
No, I'm using a pertronix coil also
Also what type of fluid did you run the the rear and transmission and what type of hydraulic fluid did you use
hello again .. what part number or what alternator did you use?
I don't know if there was a part number. It was just a one wire alternator I got off of ebay.
@@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 thank you any idea on the amp?
@@skkrump It was 38 amp
Ok Jason, Im no mechanic so please allow me to ask a stupid question. Is a voltage regulator necessassary ? I dont believe I saw you install one. The wd45 I am working on has one and it is a mess. If fact all wiring is a nightmare and I want to replace it all eliminating anything not necessary. I would like to upgrade to a new style altenator as you did and maybe the electronic ignition setup too. I may need to hire out the work of fixing this tractor up but would like to give it a shot before I totally give up ? Lol. 🙂
If you switch to an alternator, the voltage regulator is built into it. The electronic ignition is a breeze. If you try it yourself, I think you will find it quite easy to do.
Thank you soo much. When I look at this I am overwhelmed. I hope you dont mind if I ask a question or two along the way. Im really impressed with your work. 😀 Did you get most of your parts from Steiner or is there a better vendor?
@@smfarmboy5229 I got the majority of it from Steiner's and DJ's Tractor Parts.
Hey Jason, for some reason CZcams won’t let me respond or read the entire comment you sent for my latest video. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch in CZcams’s system or what, but just wanted to give you a heads up.
You might the the "latest comments" button. It's always worked for me
@@oldcroneysgarage9739 thanks Scott👍
