Your videos bring joy into my day. You are upbeat and obviously love talking about tractors, and i love learning about them. Well done.
Thanks Brian, glad you enjoyed it!
Keep on tractoring!
Thanks for that! I am looking at a bx23s locally, lucky to have found one. The one reason I didn't take it home yesterday was the dealer was not familiar with the Curtis cab. I found your videos yesterday and now sold!
I will probably have to wait for it but as long as I can get a cab I will purchase the 23s. I have been doing snow removal on my property (5 acres) for 30 years...now 75 and have never done it comfortably! Always a raging snow storm with reduced visibility and frozen when I'm done!
I'm going for it!
Nice videos series and thanks for sharing!
That was some great demonstrations and explanations of the cab! I hadn’t ever thought about the reverse air flow helping pull air in the cab! I have 3 days left and then back to school. Had Google trainings all week this week so I’ve been behind on watching CZcams!
Back to school this year will certainly be different. I’m not really sure what to expect this year. Ready for anything I guess.
Keep on tractoring!
Great video tour of the cab, nice explanation of the airflow. I always new about the engine & cooling, but didn't realize the advantages it provides with the cab on. I like how quick the doors come off - just like my Jeep!
I’m not sure Curtis new about that cool air flow advantage when designing the cab. It sure worked out well however. I’m very pleased with it! I miss my Jeep! 😁
Keep on tractoring!
I have a Curtis cab on my BX2370 and love it. I take the doors off in the Spring/Summer and put them back on in the Fall. I need a rear view mirror and found one on the Curtis web site. That's the next mod. You do some great vids.
PS: we had 4' of snow last week. I left the FEL on the tractor to see how that would work and it was good but I had huge banks of snow on the sides of the driveway. Wouldn't have been a problem with the usual amounts of 6-12" at a time.
Cheers, Bob (45 miles NE of Syracuse, NY)
That cab is the real deal. I’d like to get one for my B 2601!
NICE TUTORIAL. GREAT ATTITUDE. I CAME TO YOUR CHANNEL AFTER SEEING YOU ON OUTDOORS WITH THE MOTGANS.
Thanks for coming over to check out the channel. I appreciate it! Mike and Melissa are terrific peoples.

Awesome video on the Curtis cab. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Keep on tractoring!
Good video Jon 👍
I enjoy your videos. My tractor is a J D. But I have Kabota ZD 326S diesel zero turn and I love it. I watched your video on servicing your tractor with 2 fuel filters and I know exactly what you mean. Mine has 2 filters like yours and hard to get to. Love your channel. 👍👍👍❤️
Thanks for watching! Yes the double filter design wasn’t very well thought out. .

GREAT video.... waiting for your winter videos....
I am also, still no snow here. I’m waiting and waiting.
Keep on tractoring!
Nice video! I almost bought a BX, but decided on the B2650 HSDC. Both great machines. I previously owned a John Deere 3320 and had a Curtiss Cab that I would put on in the fall and take off in the spring. After 13 years of on and off I had enough and decided on a factory cab. Keep up the videos! They are so useful and make me smile.
You’ve got yourself a nice tractor, I bet you have no regrets. It would be just a little big for my needs here. Thanks for the kind words!
Keep on tractoring!
@@ritterjon Yes, I have an awesome tractor and am thankful for this tractor. I cannot wait for snow; remind me of this in March 2021 when there is another snow storm brining 18 inches of snow.
A really nice cab. You don’t need a cab until you do. I don’t generally plow when it is snowing, but when you need to leave for work and it is a wet snow or drizzle, you learn that a cab would be a nice addition. Cheers
Or even if the wind is blowing which is frequently does around here. I enjoy being on the tractor without my fingers and toes freezing.
Keep on tractoring!
Great Video!!
Thank you for this video ! Exactly what I was curious about. BTW gonna sell my BX25 and ordering a BX23 WITH CAB !
I like my cab too but my little pet peeve with that air flow is when I’m rototilling. When it’s dry out and I’m kickin up dust guess where it goes. Sucked through the windows or the back when it’s open. After tilling 1 3/4 of a acre. Me and the inside of the cab are pretty earthy lol. Have to keep the side windows closed, back window on and just leave the roof open. Dust doesn’t get that bad. Or when it’s really hot out just take the doors right off. Believe it or not I get less dirty. Still can’t beat this thing during the winter. Blocking off the rad sure helps keep it warm inside when it’s bitterly cold out. You have to do me one favour thou Jon. The big rubber seal between the cab and the left hand side fender has to be fixed on yours. Back off the screws that hold the back plastic to the door frame and tuck it up in there where it belongs. It’s been annoying me ever since you got that tractor lol. Mine showed up the same way and I fixed. Carry on.
Thunder boom!!! Most sub compact tractors are reverse engine. The JD1025R does have the forward engine. Love the cab.
I the Kioti is set up similar to the Deere which surprises me kioti is very similar to Kubota in many ways. Are the LS and TYM both reverse air flow?
Keep on tractoring!
Jon cabs are great we have BX2370-1 my cab no removable rear window have never took doors off always a breeze just like you demonstrate open windows
God Bless
PaK
The reverse airflow sure makes that a nice feature. Hope all is well with you. God bless.

Bonsoir Monsieur le professeur 🌞 Yes that was a great thunderstorm sound advance 😊😉👍 I kindly inform you that my Mahindra eMax 20s HST, is the same as you 😊and it also great to have less dust in the radiator 👍 You have in deed a great cab for sure Sir 👍😊 Hey, I like to have my hair in the cold environment Sir 😊🤣 Keep up the good work Sir Cheers and have a great week end 😊👍
That’s good to know about your Mahindra. Thanks for letting me know. Hope all is well up your way.

@@ritterjon Keep up the great parents job both of you Cheer !!!
I like the cab you have, here it comes... but.... just to keep the wind off me in the winter would be great. I have a plow and a blower for the just in case snows and am now up to 10 driveways more if someone stops me so just the cheap cab would do me just fine. Tractor on, God bless and have a great Sunday
Just stopping the wind and blowing snow from getting to you in the winter really make a big difference.
Keep on tractoring!
Curtis has a great cab had one one my 2305 JD for about 12years still like brand new no rust great cab & not that expansive
They have a few different cab options for the BX now, so depending on your budget and needs helps make it affordable. I will never own another tractor without a cab.
Keep on tractoring!
How's she goin'? The Curtis Cab is a sweet cab for sure. Your's is a Premium model and it has lots of bells and whistles. I have a Curtis Cab on my Massey Ferguson and it's soft sided, but works great!!! BTW, the Massey Ferguson sub-compact has reverse air flow as well. They had it for many years. Take care!!!
Good to know about the Massey, apparently the Mahindra is the same also.

The Doors ALL went on very Easily. So you’re Saying some Thought went into the Design ? 😬👍
They got this one right! As soon as one was available I didn’t hesitate. I knew it was exactly what I needed.
Keep on tractoring.
I wish the Curtis Premium cab looked this factory for the JD series. I ordered the one for my new 2025R and I wish it had cleaner lines.
Nice video as always. I love my Cab as well and worth the money. Have you gotten your heating airflow system fixed yet?
Hi Pete, nice to hear from you. I don't remember having an issue with my air flow system. What are you referring to?
Keep on tractoring!
@@ritterjon During our FB conversations when I was having airflow issues with mine I sent you a message to see if you were having the same issues and you said yes. Just went back to confirm it in our FB chats to make sure it was you I was talking to. You said your left bottom was weaker then the others just like mine was. So that's why I asked if you ever go it fixed? I guess not LOL.
The New Holland workmaster is also a reverse fan I've been tractor shopping for a while I want a subcompact with a mower loader and front snow blower I think I'm going to go with the New Holland I like the Kubota but I do not like that treadle pedal (the forward and reverse pedal) I like a side by side pedal like the rest of the manufacturers have
Love ur channel ,u do alot good content, would like to see some grapple work tho. I'm from oklahoma.
That’s coming hopefully by the end of the month. It’s all a matter of finding time to get up north and do some land clearing.
Keep on tractoring!
@@ritterjon have u thought of getting chained fuel cap ,I did that for my big grasshopper mower cause I too have absent-minded tend to lose fuel cap kinda thing so I put a chain cap on it.
That was a great video. I thought I wanted the 2650 with the factory cab but I'm thinking this might even be better than the factory cab. How call are you? I'm 6'3" and don't always fit the best in these little tractors with cabs. Thanks!
I'm in Western wi, about 45 minutes from Olson Power in Northbranch
nice job all work do that a tractor for god bless
$5000 thanks I was wondering
Nice cab....I wanted to get one but the dealer was in a tiff with Curtis over shipping damage and elected to stop selling them. Seems Curtis washes their hands of things as soon as it is on a truck
Why I like the bx the air flow is opposite than other manufacturers, my brother has the john deere 1025R and I played with his other day and his exhaust blows on your feet and in your face, iam no fan of it, excellent job kubota for doing things different!!!
I don’t know why John Deere decided to do that. I’ve been on one myself and you’re right. Have hot air blowing on you in a hot day doesn’t make it very comfortable. Tell your brother he needs a Kubota! 😁
Keep on tractoring!
Jon, for Heaven’s sake, “...admit nothing! Admit nothing!!!!” and, if do, keep an open ticket to Paraguay where there’s no extradition treaty!😂😂
Heyhey Jon Have you let Curtiss know about your poor poor friend in the frozen north that would be happy to test one in the arctic? LOL nice job .
I thought you had connections with Santa. I think you should trade up to the new LX2610. That’ll show Santa.

Than have her plow snow this winter. 😂
I just got this cab on my 23s and it’s great I’m just not impressed with the front and rear wipers. The travel doesn’t go to the top of the windows and I’m tall so I’m looking out the top of the glass. Do you have this issue?
I do have this issue and I guess it’s something I’ve gotten used to. I also wish it would rest vertical instead of the top. A suggestion I might apply would be an additional toggle switch to stop it either at the top or side. I would if a different windshield wiper arm with a bend would help at all. 🤔
Keep on tractoring!
Best cab video yet! Jon, my dealer was asking if the cab has a serial number so he can include it in my financing before I make my purchase. I’m sure you would know if they do. 😉
Thanks, I'll have to see if I have the model number somewhere. I'm sure I do. I'll get back to you on this.

Any luck on that SN?

Thanks for the info.
I would love one of these. May I ask how tall you are? I worry it would be too small for me.
I’m 6’6” with my boat on. It’s actually quite spacious. I don’t feel cramped at all.

I have a b2601 and looking at getting a Curtis Cab. My radiator is in front. Any idea how this cab will cut down on the dust when brush hogging? Thanks! Steve
I'd love to be able to answer this but I'm just not sure. Sorry!
Keep on tractoring!
I'm not sure how old your cab is, but I'm curious if you have noticed any wear and tear on it yet? I had my dealer install a hard cab on my Polaris Ranger UTV, and after a couple of years cracks started to appear in the hard plastic(s) that make up the cab and doors. My UTV is used on a farm, so the conditions are harsher than the suburbs, but I'm curious if you think that it will last the life of the tractor?
The doors of the tractor are metal and all the windows are glass. The plastic molding seems to be automotive quality and I haven’t had any issues. It’s held up better than I expected.
Keep on tractoring!
Just wondering if you have any experience with a BX 2670 soft sided tractor cab installation? I am installing one right now and for the life of me cannot get the little shaft pulled out of the little collar on the door to put the door latch on like they show me in the instructions
Never mind, I got it
Oh good!! I was going to say I’m not really familiar with what you were referring to so I’m glad you got it!
It appears like when you open your hood, the grill makes contact with the brush guard (@2:06)
Yeah, I guess it does, there is some plastic molding there that keeps it from scratching. I'm not crazy about the new 80 series grill guard. I like the guard on the older series better. However I do like the way the hood opens vs the old style, trade-offs I guess.
Keep on tractoring!
It’s not the best design. If you don’t pull the brush guard forward, the headlights will press against a plastic edging and push the brush guard forward. Eventually that will leave scuff marks on the headlights. If you pull the brush guard forward before before opening the hood, it doesn’t make contact.
Do you think this is available for Quebec Canada. Thanks mate.
I think so, however I think the heater is a little different.
Keep on tractoring!
What’s not clear to me is how the heat gets to the cab fan system. Is it electric or hooked into the engine coolant?
It is hooked into the engine coolant system. If you seen the two hoses running up in the cab when I was showing the radiator and fan you’ll see what I mean.
Keep on tractoring!
Got it! Thanks!
I ordered a BX23S with cab, mower deck, Terra King MCS, and weights from Messick's. It was delivered almost a month ago and broke down during first use after 15mins. They came and picked it up after a week and have now had it 3 weeks. Still not fixed and have already made the first payment. No loaner or compensation. Second guessing buying a Kubota. They are saying it was a radiator problem during cab installation. Dealership is reporting Kubota doesnt have a fix. Surprised though knowing you have similar setup?! Any suggestions?
Without know anymore details it’s hard to understand what the issue is. Sorry you’ve been without your tractor for so long. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Messicks. This is really one of the first bad issues I’ve read about. Wish I could help you out.
Keep on tractoring!
Mr Neil Messick is sending me a mower loaner which helps tremendously. Unit keeps overheating still no fix found. Hope i get mine back soon. Have lots of plans for it.
I have a tractor purchased last October with a similar Curtis cab and I cannot find the hood release lol!!! Where is it?
BX2680
It’s in the same location as factory except it’s well hidden. Sitting on the tractor it’s on the left side just under the heater core. How have you been checking your oil?
Keep on tractoring!
How does this one compare to Kubota's cab or don't they make one yet for the BX series ?
Kubota does not have their own cab for the BX. The new LX2610 has a cab.
Keep on tractoring!
@@ritterjon Thanks, just found out. I'm ordering my 2021 BX2680 tomorrow morning. It was a dog fight between Green and Orange though.
is it any quieter inside the cab?
It’s really about the same, I think about of adding some noise dampening material but I just haven’t done it yet. The 3M work times however are awesome. Check them out!
Keep on tractoring.
Did you ever hear “the thunder roared, lightning flashed and grandmas teapot went to smash “?
I’ve never heard that one before! 😂
Does Curtis make an A/C for that cab yet? Last I checked they did not.
Yes. It’s bin out since last year. I talked to them about it for my Bx23s. It’s around $3000 for it though.
I’m not sure it will fit the BX23S because the roof needs to pop up to remove the back panel. But for the BX2380 AC is an option. It ain’t cheap! for some people in the south I can see the need however. Today we’ve got a ton of humidity and I wouldn’t mind having it now!
Keep on tractoring!
@@ritterjon yes it will fit. I have all the emails from them saying it will an they have done it already. They just add 6" to the lines running to it.
How is using the backhoe affected by the cab?
The back panel comes off and it’s no issue at all. I’ve got a backhoe video I made this spring if you find it on my channel.

Here it is....

how is the a-c..
In the winter it's great. In the summer there is an option for AC with this cab but I do not have it on this machine.

Shure is dark Inside of that cab!
Plenty of windows. I was in my garage so lighting wasn’t the best.

Average price I’m getting on this cab now is $9500 😮😮😮😢
Didn't know curtis made a cab for it. Dealer that I got my 23s from 1 1/2 years ago said there is no hard cab for it............... is this something curtis just started to do ????
For your dealer not to know that is very disappointing. Curtis introduced this Premium cab in 2017 and then in 2018 introduced another cab called the Curtis Advantage cab. I think they now have 4 different options. Check out there website.

...and Before ya know it you have $40k tied up in a tractor LOL. Doesn't take long to make one of these BX tractors cost more than a new car HAHA!!!
I wonder if you could add the cab later? Or does it have to be installed when the tractor is brand new?
You can add the Cab later. I have heard that it takes about four good hours of installing it and that’s if you know what you’re doing. Yes adding accessories to the tractor really adds up quickly.

@@ritterjon Great, thank you. Allows me to save up some extra $$$$$ and not have to finance stuff. Going to keep running the snow blower on the lawn tractor because the past few years we haven't had enough snow to really mess with the blower anyways, last year we had about 10 inches in one storm, that was it, everything else was just a dusting. Think I may get a blade for the tractor though, might be of more use than the snow blower, and I don't think I'd better try a snow blade on the my lawn tractor, I don't really think the hydrostatic transaxle would handle pushing that too long.
A few work lights and eventually a cab will probably be the 2 main things I add onto it other than the normal implements and attachments. Course we all know how that goes, well I just need this and that....then pretty soon you have this, that, and everything else too HAHA!!
Have a great week. Thanks for all the great videos, I don't even own a tractor and I feel from watching your videos and Mike Morgan's videos as well as Messick's videos I might just have some slight clue as to how to operate a tractor if and when I get one.
When my dealer told me the price of that cab it turned me off immediately! Not in this lifetime nor the next !
Some places it gets cold enough.
