A level above is making silicone moulds and pouring resin (you need casting channels for those, like one funnel where you pour and air channels for every place where air could get caught.). if you really feel like splooging then you can buy a pressure pot to remove air from the resin too. An entirely bootlegged/3D printed Ultramarines army was featured in White Dwarf in 2015 - nobody at GW could tell the difference between those and the retail models.

Slight correction on the Havoc box, you get 2 of every heavy weapon except the reaper chaincannon, i know this because of course the new shiny weapon in the kit is the one i wanted to build 4 of and gw intends you to at least buy 2 boxes normal except when it comes to that one, and you have to buy 4. I said nah and found a listing on trolltrader for the full 4 man of reapers + a plasma gun sarge, very happy with that.
What does annoy me is there is no Lascannon or Autocannon in the regular Legionnaires box.

It is a bit of a hassle, but a motorised plastic chainsword is definitely something you can do from 3D printing (unfortunately making it in all soft foam would not work, because the chain and pully need some rigidity from the sword frame to work)

Games Workshop's financial report says their half-year report ending November '23, which was released in January, is up 12% year over year. The prior full FY report was 15% "despite external inflation cost pressures." Said pressures have reduced, but GW still wants to raise prices.
This isn't inflation-driven. This is just market-driven. And it'd be nice if corporations were honest about it. I'd respect a press release that said, "we believe our customers will pay more."

I'm usually here to offer my nieche knoledge about BloodBowl but I'm also a LARPer for 10+ years. Warhammer is one of the biggest backgrounds in the Euro LARP scene. Chaos, Sigmarites etc are backgrounds I constantly see. So those weapons are actually huge for us. Sci-Fi LARP is a thing but much less, at least in europe. Fantasy is pretty much the go-to. And yes, Polearms are also quite common there.

The whole thing about shopping on 3rd party stores instead of the official ones to save money will change soon too. They will up the prices of them to by 5% every year now too and slowly suffocate 3rd party sellers over a period of time so hardly anyone notices. That's the level they work at.

4:22 Online retailers are capped at the 15% because of the MAP (Minimum Advertise Price) policy set by Games Workshop. Anyone doing otherwise is risking their store getting taken down. Purchases in-store at some shops will sometimes sell for 20-25% in person but most of the stores in a 2 hour radius of ours killed all their discounts for the most part, or you have to ask for it. Just figured I'd chime in with some "insider," info. Not wrong about the stock problems though, it's rough for sure.

To a certain degree I think a lot of 3d prints look better because they don't have to put some shapes at weird angles to work with the moulds. So they usually end up looking sharper with proper corners or the spikes on the cylinders aren't all facing the same way and can actually radiate from the center.

  • @nickrivas6429

An easy example of 3d printing being better is my desire for death riders for my krieg army. Its officially sold as resin only for $35 usd a model. I found someone selling 11(9 riders, 1 ridemaster, and commander) for the same price and whils they dont look the same. Its good enough for me and my wallet. And i don't hate the cadians, but i want other guards more and they dont have nany models to work with nor does gw give too much to work with. Platoon command squad> cadian command sqaud is one example.
