2016 Audi S6 USA Quick Drive Review and Price

- I take a Mythos Black 2016 Audi S6 with Design Selection Arras Red interior around the block just before a massive rain storm drenches the town. I had my cell phone and a few minutes, so I took advantage of the opportunity to grab this for you. I love this interior and all the details. I will try to do a full review if this car is still available in the next week or so - highly doubtful this won't be gone when I can get back.

Good insight even with the limited memory on your cell phone. I ordered one in Glacier White Metallic and loaded it up except for the B&O sound system. I got it through European Delivery and will be leaving next week to pick it up in Ingolstadt Germany. Can't wait to see what it can do on the Autobahn! Keep sharing your reviews and your passion for cars! Don't let the pessimists bring you down! LOL!

+Diesel Review Some high end cars go up in value if you don't drive them which doesn't make sense to me. Some alcohol goes up in value as well. Since Audi has become reliable now, I would definitely consider buying one that is two years old, but still need to save for that.
+jmen8888 Audi models are in high demand and sales are low compared to BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Aura, Cadillac, etc.. The demand and low inventory is creating high resale values on most Audi models. I traded in two Audi models last year after driving less than 10K miles on each of them. The Q5, by far, had the best resale value.

Hi Guys just said good bye to my Audi 2013 S6 what a great car, 3 years endless fun and pleasure. Not a sad day, now got the 2016 which is same is the video, APR tuned. OMG this is not the same car ! amazing ! Family loves the car. Good improvements on upgrades; USB, better interface with center console, sports exhaust. Feels tighter and definitely quicker
Congrats! The 2016 models of A6/S6 are vastly improved in all the little areas. It was a great car before the refresh and near perfect after the refresh.

The American rear light model differs quite lot compared with the Euro spec. What's going on with that? Does the Euro spec rear light have something which is illegal in the US? The American version is quite straight forward and less pretty i.m.o..
how do you get the dual exhausts in the back? I just see them with 2 exhausts one on each side

I'm looking to buy an s6 or s4 sometimes next year and I was wondering how the s6 dive compare to the s4? can you feel the weight difference? and also how quite is it compared to the s4 at highway speed (tire noise, wind noise, ect....)

What model of audio have ventilated seats and what package is it part of if any?
Vented seats come with the prestige trim on the A6. I believe you must order comfort seats on the S6 as the normal seats are diamond stitched and not vented, but I could have the optional seat info backwards on the S6. The diamond seats are either standard or optional but you can't get vented diamond seats unless you get the A8. The Q5 also has a vented seat option.
So you can't get vented seats on every model of audi as an option at least??
No vented seats in the USA on the A3, Q3, A4 (B8).

Can it be had with manual shifter?
The S6 transmission is a dual clutch auto and it does have steering wheel shift paddles. A manual S6 (even a 3.0 supercharged A6) would be awesome, but it's not available. There is always the S5 and RS5 with the 4.0 TFSI n/a V8, which has quattro and can be had with a 6-speed manual!
+Diesel Review ......manual shifter is a must in a sporty car. ......very strange that Audi can't have that option of choice in the S.

Lack of manuals might be due to the fact that a clutch dealing with 408 lb-ft of torque might not be a reliable choice. BMW has taken this route with the M5 long ago. Mercedes never offered it on an AMG either.
+Diesel Review ....I just saw a few reviews on the new Ford Shelby 350. ....and the R. ........mountains of torque. .....and manual transmission. .....if Ford can, then Audi and the others can as well. ....it's about not wanting to give the buyers this option, for some strange reason that maybe only they know. ................All I know is, I like the S6. ....and was it to be had with a manual shifter, I would surely have it on my wish-list.
top of the line audi's are all great in performance and interior... until you see a competing mercedes but i'd love both as my daily driver is a camry :(

If you think so that's completely fine. Its just my opinion. I think between bmw, mercedes and audi. Mercedes does the interior thing better than the rest. But then again you have cars like the RS7 and who make a strong statement in terms of design but its not enough I don't think.
What gearbox does this beast have ? Is it STronic?
Yes. S-tronic dual clutch with launch control. I didn't demo that because the car was not mine and that's something the new owner gets to enjoy.

I don't get Audi's pricing methods....why not just include the 360 view camera standard on all trims?? I doubt it costs that much more....Nissan can do it for much cheaper. Does Audi use like 4K cameras or what am I missing?
The 360 view camera system is available on the 2017 Q7 without the radar cruise control. It's a mystery to me why it's not a part of the Prestige trims on other models without the driver's assistance package. I shouldn't have to pay $2k+ for a package of features I don't need to get one item I want. The image clarity and color saturation is great when the cameras are clean, and fish eye/warp is minimal. I have no idea what Nissan does, since that's not something I care about (unless it's a Z or until they make a proper Maxima).

+Mat Beck Even so, non-US models get more options like matrix LED headlights. Even if someone here paid $130k, the lights aren't allowed by law. Also, the highest speed limit in the US is 85mph, so using the S6 to its full potential is not legal on public roads. Some states charge tax on the purchase. In Los Angeles, the car would be 8.75% higher, so if your prices have VAT, we pay on top of that price.

I do. I owned 2 A6 TDI sedans. 428 lb-ft of torque has a way of sneaking up on everything without drama.

Diesel Review how do you change the channel stations on the steering wheel, i thought those two arrows would do the trick?
Drewbie85 You use the scroll wheel on the left side of the steering wheel, just below the left and right buttons. The scroll will move through the center display of the instrument cluster depending on the mode you have activated with the left and right buttons. You can activate the map and use the scroll to zoom in or out of the map displayed in the instrument cluster, or you can use the left/right buttons to display the radio and use the scroll wheel to select songs, stations, etc.. If you are on the trip computer display, you can scroll through different display information. Thanks for watching!

The S6 weighs 4,486 Lbs and the A6 TDI weighs 4,277 Lbs. Of course, the 3.0 TFSI is even lighter (4,178 Lbs) and the 2.0 TFSI (3,803 Lbs FWD / 3,957 Lbs quattro) is the lightest. It's hard to believe the S6 weighs 209 Lbs more than the diesel.

It depends. For some, a year-round daily driver might require all wheel drive. You can't get the S6 if you wish to have a manual. The S6 has two more doors than the M4, so the M3 might be more ideal. Then again, as far as 4-doors, the S6 is probably more desirable than the M3. Wouldn't you take the M4 over the M3? I would. Which is why I think the M4 and S6 are not comparable.

The S6 is larger and more practical on a daily basis than the M3, and most US "buyers" are more than likely going to lease, which means it all comes down to a monthly payment and emotions over practicality.
I was wondering, how you weren't caught by cop, driving and juggling one hand in a running car. In a better country, you can lose the driving licence after same attraction for a while very easy.
