It’s so true .. I’m 45 and I think to myself , why did it take me so long to understand all this & how to protect myself by a simple no. Better late than never . What frustrates me now is seeing others I care about in toxic 6:15 relationships that they don’t realize are holding them back .. I think that used to be me !!! I literally want to ship all the narcs & A** holes to an island .. let them destroy each other & leave the rest of us in peace .

I definitely think that is true. Yes, it is good to have healthy boundaries and know one’s worth. Seems also this newfound communication of reinforcement of one’s boundaries seems to be going overboard with some however. Therapist & people supporting cutting people out of your life instead of working on one’s issues as well as working on proper communications to resolve issues has gone out the window.
I was told everybody deserves a second chance. Wish that sentence was never invented. Everybody doesn't deserve a second chance that's for sure and having boundaries and knowing how to use the boundaries is the key.
When people conspire together with more than one person to destroy you in one way or another, do they deserve a second chance at that? Absolutely not. Even Jesus withdrew from the Pharisees when he realized they were conspiring to destroy him. See Matthew 12:14-15.
Ugh. In my case, I allowed third and fourth chances. I see the good and ignore the 72 red flags. I have now learned why I accepted this thankfully.

I’m 74 years old. My nasty dad was a narcissist ❤Crazy life. I was chubby as a kid and he once told me I was the worst thing that ever happened to him. I won’t go into all the other insanity.
My cousin went thru this with her dad n she became anorexic n also had bulimia that shes been battling ever since.

My mum is a narcissist she has told me repeatedly that when she was pregnant with me she wanted an abortion but my dad refused to sign the papers and she has resented me ever since needless to say they divorced when I was a child my life was hell with her and she treated my older brother like a king. She has also told me that I’m nothing but a piece of sh*t no provocation, no arguing just a matter of fact pure hatred spitting out of her mouth, my brother is a narcissist too mean, nasty, takes pleasure in inflicting insults and pain onto others, others meaning me.
Narcissism is a multi generation problem. It causes deep problems with consciousness and personality development. It's a needed step in a childs Individual development that goes wrong. The results are horrible. This is a major growing problem. I've suffered badly. I'm not a narcissist. This mental illness needs a therapy. I've been unfortunately involved with several female narcissist before I understood the situation. The results were horrible for me. Behind the mask It's horrible for them. They aren't complete people. They know it. Eventually the false self and lies shatter.

It's rooted in severe insecure attachment early on and the child never individuates; separates from the parent. They are psychologically infused as one with their abusive parent who dictates their reality and personality.

I think we are taught in school to follow along and if you resist then you are seen as the problem because in the narcissists eyes they believe they have the right to use you. Cain was a narcissist as he was filled with jealousy and envy when he saw Abel causing Cain to kill Abel. The explosion of narcissism is due to social media and people not being held accountable in todays day and age. I've awakening to the realization while I was showing kindness to all that they were just talking behind my back with so much jealousy and envy seeking to destroy my goodness, my self control, my patience...so I'd be as miserable as they are. I'd rather be alone then surrounded by wickedness. People lie to themselves all the time and create "Their truth" and all they are doing is saying is their evil is good and people should accept it.
I agree with everything Kevin has said here, however I believe the computer age, along with it, the age of social media, has increased the sense of self importance, and self absorption. Almost making the focus of self, and narcissistic traits more socially acceptable.

I can't believe how naive I have been throughout the years! I truly believed that people were progressing. I feel like the character Sofia on " The Color Purple" I was such a spirited person. I believed that the world was getting better. I was looking forward to a happy life. I felt like I was on top of the world when my ribs were tucked in by my High School Crush. I still struggle believing that this type of abuse still existed and that it would ever happen to me. What was I thinking? My eyes are wide open. The problem im facing now is the abondenment pain from my childhood. Saying no has worked, now im really on my own. In fact, I went to a bible study years ago where we were quoted Paul, who said he was "the chief of sinners." This phrase was used to tell us who are we to get upset when someone sins against us? We should all say we are, "the chief of sinner." So, quit complaining to the church that someone is abusing you was the message...

Narcissists have been around from the beginning of times. The problem is that they have a longevity that empathetic don't have because the damage they produce on us. Good people die sooner and besides societies rewarding them, it makes sense that with each generation there are more narcissists and less empaths.
That's why I believe in the book of Revelations (for the Catholic Church, the Apocalypse).

I was contacted by email after 20 years and made the mistake of responding (I was aware via the grapevine he had recently almost died). It was amazing - the tone of the communication; he hadn’t changed one iota in 20 years. It was horrifying. I said I didn’t want to talk to him and he blew an ALL CAPS gasket. I could say I regret responding even by email. But in an odd sort of way, it was closure for me. I hadn’t been wrong all those years ago - he was exactly who I had thought he was, though back then I had no language to describe it. Blocked and deleted! I am a grown up now - not inclined to be entertaining adult children anymore 🙃

Yes, I fully agree with you about the Old Testament. It is where our Lord and our Lady are both prefigured. (I am very traditional Catholic SSPX Third Order) and the Holy Trinity and our Lady are all there in the Old Testament as pre figures.
Also, once I read that all empires, religions and belief systems in any age or time actually believed in human sacrifice including child sacrifice and that the only one to NOT believe in doing this was Israel through all of the Old Testament times and up to today.., all over the world. South America, Africa, Asia....everyone everywhere... EXCEPT Israel ......because of the TEN COMMANDMENTS:
THE Fifth COMMANDMENT. "Thou shalt not kill."

I learned about narcissism reading the Bible. Grey Rock Method is similar to forgiving people no matter what they do to you. The Bible doesn't say I've got to put myself around a person who wants to abuse me, especially if that person claims to be a Christian. Most Christians today mistake a forgiveness situation with a self defense situation. I'm not placing myself in the presence of someone who wants to hurt me no matter if its family or not.

Yes, I agree. just before my 2019 divorce, I felt this separation coming. as painful as it was, after therapy, and these kinds of videos, I now understand what i've been through, what narcissim is. I have become stronger in myself.

I'm 72 now and living in a senior Independent Living community full of such people. Living on an extremely low fixed income and no transportation (disabled ). Struggling with not having full independence right now (due to mistakes I've made health wise) Had narcissist care people and now refuse to allow anyone except my son in yet he's verbally abusive at times (has his own family issues).
Thank you for the fantastic video Kevin! The bright light of knowledge and awareness continues to expose the narcissist’s evil nature. We are told in 2 Corinthians 6 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” According to Proverbs 3:5 we need to trust in God with all our hearts and stop leaning on our own understanding. Daily dying to self in order to follow God’s guidance is not easy but keeps us from making so many mistakes.
In my experience, the fortifications are put in place because I have realized my true worth.

Kevin, thank you for such inspirational video which came right in time into my life. The problem is narcissistic people can well conceal their nature for years acting caring and altruistic but one day when you are sick and powerless they will use heavy artillery against you to smash you down and destroy. This is what is happening now with my friend who I thought I knew but only after several years she showed her true colors . My best response to such people is writing an open empatoc letter which reveals word by word what was being said and send it not only to this person but to all parties involved. Because surely after they mess it up they go behind your back and start a smear campaign. Vampires are scared of the sunlight and their actions exposed
I think it's important to mention that the "you gotta luv everybody" mentality seemed to coincide with the civil rights movement. It makes sense when viewed from the perspective of race and when tryin to set government policy... it doesn't make sense, and is hurtful, outside of that.

Pride is a sort of overly indulgent self-love. Narcissism entails the same thing. You could say that when Cain killed Abel …he did it for jealous reasons. Narcissists are jealous.
