I loved Doris Day ever since I was a little boy. Her voice was as beautiful as she looked. I watched all her movies and her television show also. Her son Terry Melcher came to her rescue after her husband gambled all her money away. Terry encouraged his mother to star in her own television series which he helped to create. The show ran for five seasons and she finally retired several years later. From then on she enjoyed the rest of her life.
Great Multi-talented Lady....God bless her for all she gave to music from 'Sentimental Journey' with Les Brown orchestra that shot her to fame with her unique lyrical style to the many movies she did into the sixties with James Stewart and many others..RIP...
Great job by Doris Day but Joe Brown did a really good job with this song at the Tribute for George Harrison Concert in 2002 or 2003 I believe he ended the show with it. Two different styles of singing this song by Doris and Joe but both very lovely.
A wonderful movie! Doris could act with anyone. Not that Danny was an awful actor, they were just not an obvious couple. The fictionalized biography of Gus Kahn and his wife, Grace, is well worth watching for the songs and the acting.
