Some people here saying USTe is being overhyped only because of the crowd advantage. Really? USTe's crowd is feeling the moment because it's like a David vs Goliath game. Who wouldn't cheer a smaller fighting a against a towering team? This game proves that DLSU's biggest advantage is the height and winning culture. A massive crowd isn't new to DLSU. THAT'S NEVER AN EXCUSE 🙋

This UST team needs to be studied, how did they manage to became this good despite loosing all of their ace players. This game really proved how a good floor defense can silent even the most efficient attacking team.

UST really deserved their win! Their floor defense was just amazing. Poyos is fearless! I think that they need to focus on having a reliable middle blocker. Main reason why Jonah shut down during set 3 and 4 was because DLSU knew they won't use Plaza as an option which they need to start using her as an option for the next games. On the other hand, Tolentino definitely gave a breakout performance, I even think they could have won this game if she was injected earlier on. Angel Canino is amazing as always! Both teams did amazing and have nothing to be ashamed of.

True, maganda hugot ni CRDJ kay Tolentino. Next game, it would be Julyana > Julia. Maganda naman receive nila in 3rd and 4th set. Nadala sila sa crowd ng UST on the latter part of 5th, nawawala sila sa focus at walang katuwang si Angel. Mahaba pa ang season, maraming pwedeng magbago pa sa system ng La Salle kung mag stick sila kay Tolentino.

The floor defense of UST is sooo good right now. This is the perfect definition of hardwork since all of them are working hard to defend every ball that goes on their way. Congrats UST. La Salle has impeccable net defense. Both teams are so good I hope they both go to the finals.
Their floor defense today is weak. They just gave 23/170 excellent digs. Stats say La Salle errors were too much.

1. Wla parin impact si Plaza. The coaching staff must figure out kung sino tlga ung sa isang spot sa middle before the end of second round. They can play around sa place na yan given na mukha naman ma si sweep nila unf first round given na na lagpasan na nila NU and DLSU. so pag dating sa round 2 alam na tlga
DLSU ✅:
1. Tall with experience. Kahit 2 sets down they can adjust very fast and tambakan ka pa. Reverse sweep is always possible sa DLSU. di pedeng magpahinga ang ibang teams.
2. Canino, Cagate, Provido and Laput can really rip the ball. Andaming choices ng setter.
DLSU❌:
1. After this game against UST, the coaching staff now know na meron issue sa setter. Coronel is really good but lacking the x factor. Mukhang si Tolentino ang magiging first choice depende sa laro nila sa NU. I think sa dalawa kung sino ang mas magaling against tougher teams like UST at NU, un ang mag ba base kung sino tlga ang deserve sa first setter. I feel bad kay Coronel kung si tolentino kasi she was already doing the second setter nung si Alba pa.
2. Malaluan is really not it. Madaling ma block, madaling ma dig tlga ang spikes nia. Andaming time ng DLSU makahanap ng good replacement kay Malaluan bakit parang wla silang narecruit na mas magaling na spiker? I know tlga na si coach ramil ayaw i replace si Laput sa place ni malaluan tpos ilagan si Soreno sa place ni laput, kasi magkakabutas ang blocking ng lasalle kay Soreno, baka palagpasin lang lahat nila belen kay soreno ung spikes. Pero parang attacking wise, lasalle will be so much better kung un ang placing kasi magaling ung kamay ni soreno and laput can deliver sa left wing together with canino. Kung hindi well, kapag si malaluan tlga, eh waley.

I had hoped na maretain pa rin ni Coronel yung tapang na ipinakita niya noong SSL finals games 2 and 3 vs AdU, pero nagregress siya back to her old self. And UST came back with a much improved floor defense and Jonna Perdido. I think siya ang naging X-factor that DLSU may not have accounted for since it was mostly Poyos who outsmarted the DLSU blockers last SSL. Gone are their buhatera days kaya nandoon din yung takot ko na pwedeng matalo ang DLSU. Kudos to them for also having the puso to prevent the reverse sweep!
As for DLSU, they really have to minimize the errors. That's how they lost the SSL AdU finals game 1. Statwise, si Angel naging buhatera ngayon and we all know that doesn't really work everytime. Sana nga Malaluan finds a way para maging katuwang siya ni Angel. And maibalik sana ni Laput ang kanyang scoring machine form noong SSL. Yung silver lining, I guess, is that this was a five-setter and not a landslide like yung vs NU game. So both teams really had championship spirit in them. But I wonder if this exposed holes in DLSU's gameplan that NU can exploit 😅😅

UST humbled NU and DLSU this round 1. Nothing to lose kasi sila at no expectation. The fact na binawasan nila pressure sa dalawang team sila naman mapepressure sa susunod na games.
