- It's always exciting when Fender brings out new releases. The Player series has been a bit hit and miss in our opinion, great guitars but often need a bit of setup and fret work out of the factory, also Andy still isn't happy about the lack of a gig bag but...these Player ii's are definitely very good!

Never had a problem with Pau Ferro on the fancy basses in the early 2ks. But when they put it on Strats, it had the look of the lowest quality rosewood I used to see on plywood strats copies in the 90's, or the abused yard sale strats that stayed in closets for a decade without any oil.
Your right guys these guitars should come with a gig bag or hard case. However that green Strat looks cool. 👍
If you want a bag from a Premium brand” then the expectation should be a premium bag! I think it would be hard to keep the price for those two demands unfortunately!
@@Jrock136especially when the "Fender Deluxe Gigbag" is as thin as a dustsheet. Its so bad getting one would possibly even add to the disappointment 😂
Yeah the colours are on point and they are definitely better than a regular player :)
PRS manage it though. Their gigbags are so good!
Im bout to get a player plus for the noiseless pickups and the tuners
Those are great colors.
I only like the baseball bat neck in one tele and it’s the 50 no caster
At 700 they should have a bone nut and a proper string tree. If they can put a bone nut on a squier classic vibe then the player series at twice the price should have one to.
Jet guitars have i believe, wouldn't cost much so i agree it's bad form
And no gig bag is a joke to
I have a Jet Js 400 (£179) and the neck is my favourite neck to play on and the neck heel contour and spoon cut makes upper fret access a breeze. I find it better to play than my pro 2. I put a set of Vanson locking tuners on it £35, upgraded the electronics, switch, jack £60 and put a set of Tonerider alnico 2 blues hss pups in it £90. £364 total and it's my go to guitar. Pisses on my player series and feels better than my pro 2 to play because of the neck heel and body contours. If my pro 2 wasn't a 40th birthday present I would actually sell it as it just sits in its case now. I will always be a Fender fan but you can get a lot better bang for your buck with other brands these days. Fenders prices are about 50-60 percent over priced. Perfect example, I have a brilliant strat a blues junior and a pedal board that comes in less than the price of a pro 2. You can buy a full professional rig that you can gig for the price of an American Fender, crazy!!
Fair point
I've been playing 55 years. Still play 4 times a week. Owned over 140 fenders, gibsons, mostly vintage. Tried the player ii. Imo, they're not good. The rolled edges are not rolled enough. The 9.5 radius, meh. Fender dud one good thing on them, the vintage style tuners, but left the 2 point tremelo. The action , fret work, nut, were terrible.
Im sorry you had a bad experience. That’s really not fun. The one I tried felt as good as an ultra which is weird because I know it’s a different guitar
I prefer the guitar to have a more affordable price than to come with a cheap gig bag, because I'm going to buy a good gig bag later. 6.5 it is too mean a qualification.😕 They say the guitar feels good, looks good, sounds good, but since it's made in Ensena-Mexico, then I give it a 6.5 out of 10? They have been prejudiced from the beginning. Very bad and disrespectful review.😕
No black with rosewood, no sherwood instead of birch green, no candy apple....nah. no thanks. They don't play or sound good.
