hair spray is an awesome settings technique for the moss and will help it from flaking off while you are working on the flowers.

Spray glue on the styrofoam balls before the moss next time, yeah? :) Also maybe a tall, glued down square of styrofoam in the pot for the dowel to be squished into instead of the plastic top? DIYs are always a learning experience which is supposed to make it part of the fun lol These turned out really beautiful!

you could spray paint or acrylic paint the Styrofoam balls green! might come in handy when trying to cover with the moss. :)
Be careful. Some spray paints will melt / destroy the styro

Melanie - it took exactly 15 bundles with 6 roses per bouquet. All in all, if you were to purchase them at a store they would be upwards of $20 each. So making it yourself is still the better bargain and they are such a classic, they'll never go out of style! I'm going to make another set for my master bath - but I will only be doing one ball instead of two - so that's another option. If you do make one, make sure you get a heavy vase, or put something heavy inside to stabilize it - otherwise it will want to tip over. Hope you do make one and put it on my Facebook page, I'd love love love to see it!!
I also burned my fingers and got blisters and then I told my neighbor about it and she said to put mustard on it and it totally takes away the sting in the heat it totally works so if you get burned use mustard it works
sometimes I use spray adhesive for loose things like moss
Someone had told me that, I forgot about it again!! Next time!!! There's always a next time, right? Hahahaha, what do you want to bet, I'll forget again? It's called old lady syndrome! ;)

LifeAt50&Beyond I have seen comments that said Nana passed away from cancer last October. I am so sad, and I will miss her.
