I'm very excited to find nautical themed DIY, especially $ Tree Cuz of the.inexpensitive amount that is right up my alley, cuz I can make him decor for the house that is sooo expensive as well as the ability to put my special touch on his special present. He's going to be way too excited seeing how he'd never suspect I could make such a beautiful present a such a cheap cost!!
I made the jars with the moss and put in differt color flowers. The jars I had to get are the one that look like with mason jars with handles on them. I just love how they turned out. I got all of it at the Dollar Tree. Thank You! wish I could send you a pic of mine.

I have used shoe polish for years to stain wood and even furniture it really works good. Just found it at dollar tree and yes it works as well but is watery than most I have used

Quick tip for you on that moss framed print...spray the moss with aerosol hairspray to help keep it from shedding.

I can't even believe you are using shoe Polish because I've been using shoe Polish to all my natural wood decor!!!!! I've never seen or heard of anyone doing this till now! Lol it works beautifully! I get a lot of shaby old wood decor and when the wood is old wood it turns a gray color so one day 3 years ago I've decided to use some medium brown shoe Polish and brown shoe wax and it gave it a reddish brown tone as if it were just cut!

For your first wood shelf....you can also get a plunger (use just the stick part) and put it on the scroll part of the shelf brackets at the bottom....kinda like a dish towel holder :)

I like the way sjpe polished work just used a clear coat to seal it.
If the water lilies that you're using are made of foam just for the heads up you can add essential oil to the center of the flowers or even to the water to give your home a good scent another idea is instead of the Rocks you can put wood chips in the bottom after soaking them for 24 hours and essential oil and that will also work. There was this air freshener for my car that I found at the Dollar Tree it had I guess hibiscus type phone flowers and I add essential oil to them when the Sun Tran out and now my car always smells great and I'm sure it would do the same thing to your home with these foam flowers

Love, love, love it all. I have been checking at our dollar tree and they don't carry the floral Moss. They have a green that looks like grass in your yard. Not vibrant. Idk why. We don't have a 99c store here either. You would really think we did. Dollar General?? U do better going to Walmart. They are very expensive.... but everything you do is Beautiful!!! I love it all.
