That is how they derailed Nigeria. Staging one coup after the other. Execute a coup, they get there and do nothing.

  • @emmanuelologbeseawolowo9832

Thanks for the updates. I commend Justice Oputa and other legal teams that constituted this panel. It was one of the best of it kind in this nation. In memory of Sani Abacha, I appreciate the good policies his Govt gave us. From the findings, it was obvious that Gen. Diya Oladipo didn't have the robust relationship Bamayi had with Abacha. May history judge us well.

To me General Diya did not exhibit enough diligence in planning his coup. He was planning coup with strange bed fellows, placing absolute confidence on them. Bamaiyi is an Hausa man, General Bashir Mangashi is a Fulani man, so you don't expect them to be more loyal to you than Abacha. I think Diya was just greedy for power and he was not discreet about this, as he was busy discussing his coup with anybody he met by the roadside. Besides, Major Fadipe who was his COS confirmed that Diya actually co-opted him into the coup plan. Though Diya is dead now, but I think he was just not man enough to accept his guiltiness. Honestly, Barrister Yakubu Maikyau who incidentally is the current NBA President did a very good job in bringing General Diya to the cleaners, as his interrogations were very penetrating.

      Diyya is stupid
God met him through me May 1994
Is boby guards should have killed me in Aso Rock same day but as a servant of God. Iam saved. Miracle
Ask from Diyya. I ment him in is house at Ikeja. He denied knowing me
I knew him through General Bajowa when I wrote a petition against my illegal dismissal in August 23 1974 from Nigerian Army.
God went into Bajowa's mind and he instructed Diya to reabsorb me.
      He did.
Diyya I came to meet you for a favor when you was a Minister for Internal Affairs .
My getting to you that day was a shock to you. God Might Power.
Diyya on that day, you are expecting Mr Kolawole Hafiz .
On your shocking seat, a message of this very coup came out.
When you are in Gaurd Room I gave a message to Late General Abasa not to kill you.
Diya I don't respect you at all because you don't believe in God. Not the big ring in your finger that is saving you. It's Almighty God.
Yes Diya you beg and cry for Abasha because you need your freedom. He is your boss.
      No one want to die.

    • @mathewsamuel1386

@Masud Saleh That is a lie. If the Igbo have created a tragedy for you, why don't your leaders allow them to have their own country from you who have not created a tragedy for Nigeria? The problem is that you have been misinformed and have refused to educate yourself. But here's the recap. If you have a conscience, you will change your reasoning after today. The coup in 1966 had officers from all parts of the country - even though the vociferous leaders were ostensibly Igbo. So, there was no ethnic colouration to the coup, the unfortunate deaths - including that of the Sarduana - notwithstanding. Brothers quarrel and brothers fight, but they also come together afterwards, forgive, learn their lessons, forge a new bond and move forward. The north, however, did not reason this way, and so staged a counter coup that was ethnically colored having been commandeered by northern officers and executed by northern soldiers and the killing completely one-sided. Do not forget that the first coup had also been foiled by an Igbo officer in the person of Agui Ironsi. If it were an Igbo coup, why would another Igbo man - who became the first victim of the northern counter coup - have foiled the coup? Also, if the north believed coups are bad, why the succession of coups by northerners from Gowon all the way down to Abdulsalami? Do you see the hypocrisy? Okay. Then the war. Even non-Igbos like Wole Soyinka, Dele Foratimi, Gowon himself (who has now apologized to the Igbo people) have labelled what happened a genocide against the Igbos. Who suffered the purported tragedy then? Nigeria or the Igbos? Okay. Since the end if the war, Igbos have taken up residence in all parts of the country, acquiring and developing property. No other tribe in Nigeria does this. So, honestly, between the Igbos and the rest of Nigeria, especially the north, who wants a united Nigeria more? If Igbos still intend for the breakup of Nigeria, why would they be acquiring and developing property in other parts of Nigeria? Okay. Since democracy returned in 1999, the Igbos have been the only people who have not been voting on the basis of ethnicity. They voted for Obasanjo when the Yorubas queued up behind Olufalaye. In doing so, they rejected one of theirs in the person of Ojukwu himself! They voted Yar'Adua rejecting an Orji Uzor Kalu! They supported Atiku against Kingsley Moghalu! Tell me which other Nigerian tribe has this record, please. Contrast that with the behavior of the north. When Buhari lost to Jonathan in 2011, they slaughtered scores of southern youth corps members serving in the north. That is enough to break up Nigeria. Fulani herdsmen have been ravaging the entire south killing, maiming, raping, displacing people from their homes, causing hunger and fear, with the federal government refusing for a long time to label them terrorists - a term it very easily applied to rightful agitators in the IPOB; that is enough to break up Nigeria. Why do you continue to live a lie that your greedy, thieving politicians use to keep you in bondage while raping the country's treasury to everyone's detriment? Recently Aisha Buhari had one of yours jailed for criticizing the fact that she's fed fat on the taxpayer's money. And how has Buhari being in power benefited you personally? Consider this: the money spent by Atiku purchasing his nomination form is more than his cumulative salary for four years as a president of Nigeria, and that does not include money spent on delegates! Do you suppose he intends to serve you instead of recouping all that money? Well, first he would have to forfeit his pension as an ex-vice president, and let the federal government use it in working for poor masses like you. But he hasn't. He is also a man who Obasanjo has told in his book, "My Watch" stole enough money to feed 40 million Nigerians for 30 years. You think he should be in power in 2023 just to satisfy your ethnic bigotry? I mean, common, you're smarter than that. Stop the useless hate! Remember, nothing is permanent. The table could be turned anytime in future. A disaster can decimate the north, leaving you a minority population in comparison to the Igbos. Would you like to be treated just like you are happy seeing the Igbos treated in Nigeria today? Think, brother, think.
