    AJ continues with our Mud Build project focusing on its ability to blast through the gnarliest mud holes. He starts with upgrading the front suspension with Super ATV high clearance A-arms and then he installs some wicked Swamp-Lox Rims from Rubberdown Customs and deep lug Assassinator Mud Tires from SuperATV designed to terrorize the deepest mud holes.

    Holy crap, another video with deep pockets, do a budget mud build, under 5 with buying wheeler

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  Před 6 lety

      That would be the base Outlander we bought with a 3" lift, the snorkel and some good tires. But we aren't going to be winning any races with that. This stuff isn't as pricy as a lot of folks think, yes it's an investment but as we have said you don't have to do it all at once. We could go just the engine and speed parts, the tires and rims and snorkel and probably be solidly competitive. All in that'd be about $7500 with the bike. Sure we may break some stuff that we beefed up on our build and need to spend more down the road but this bike completed will be worth significantly less than a brand new 1000 XMR or HL Polaris and will absolutely peel the stickers off both of those when it goes by it's so much faster.

    I have a Gen 1 800 budget build that I bought a year ago for $3500 it was very clean with only 300 miles. I have been slowly building it how I want it for mud, I now have about $9,300 in it. I'm wanting to upgrade the shocks on it. I'm interested in the Elkas, is there a reason why they recommend stage 1s up front and stage 2s in the back? Also do the Elka shocks develop any sagging in them after being on the atv for a period of time?

    Can i ask how the non crushed assasinators ride and wear? I'm looking at silverbacks or assassinators and want the one that's best in the mud but is a bit better on the trail. I know they won't ride like stock but I would prefer the one that's better. Also is durability an issue for either one?

      I did this as it's not a tapered hole, if it were I'd go with the taper in as per the stock rim set up but without a tapered surface on the rim its more likely to just carve up the aluminum and this way gives us a better contact patch.

    Can i put the crushlocks on stockers

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  Před 6 lety

      On stock tires? Yes, you can crush just about anything, but I wouldn't think you'd be getting the best performance crushing stock tires. I'd suggest a more aggressive tire, and go with a narrow front sized tire on all 4. The larger stock rear tires with crush locks will still be quite wide as well and the whole point is to get a narrowed up tire to cut through the mud not ride on top of it. But yes you can crush the stockers for sure.

    You said those arms don't work on the Max version, but aren't the fronts identical?

    • @KillerATV
      @KillerATV Před 6 lety

      I didn't understand that either, there is no difference between the a-arms or trailing arms on the STD or MAX the length difference comes from the longer frame?

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  Před 6 lety +1

      I'm not sure why either, but Super ATV states it right on the product page so I have to assume there is an issue with something on the max.
