#pennandteller #foolus #jekiyoo #magic - Komedie
How the heck did they decipher that 🤯🤯 Man but anyway you are always a class act and crack me every time I see you!! You are such a unique magician and absolutely one of a kind man!! Keep it up ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much for the words :)
I think its because it was so good and so clean and the cards really do have to go somewhere, but it still is one of my favorite slight of hand performances.
He used the whiplash card principle and angles and stashed cards in the black seam in the table
Still my favourite magician at the moment though jeki
Jeki, I loved it! I've seen you do this before on YT, but I don't think it's ever looked better. And here's the thing... I know it's nice to fool Penn & Teller, but I think it's more important to impress them. And you definitely did that!
You may think the code word was “angle”, but it was really “lizard brain.” He simply has a trained lizard in his shorts that spits out a card into his hand. Rudimentary really.
Hahahaha thats a good one. But seriously though there were many code words like bypass, one step ahead and cut
I tried that with an iguana. It did not end well for me.
@@ccuny1 How did it work out for the iguana?
@@DaddyBeanDaddyBean No animals were harmed in the making of this joke.
that's how i do most of my tricks as well.
if you watch this at 0,25 speed and watch at the reflection at the table you get fooled 4x slower, and now i still dont know how he did it
LOL this comment is so good
xD good one
Lmao I did that haha
😂👌
Lmao 🤣
I love how Teller is not shy to express his awe. Even if he knows how it's done, you can tell he loves watching great magic the same way a musician loves listening to great music, even if they themselves can play it
Yeah, Teller is amazing in that. Respecting the craft even if he knows how its done most of the time.
he can't talk so....that's why he does facial expressions
@@ricky5369 He can actually talk. He chooses not to on stage, because he believes magic should speak for itself and that every magician is just lying to you anyway. (Paraphrasing).
There are many videos out there of him talking off stage.
I think the first time I found out was when Penn was on celebrity apprentice over a decade ago. He called Teller for something and asked on camera "hey they are recording, is it okay?" And Teller saying "yeah I don't care." Then went on to converse with Penn about the task on hand. (because he's not on stage preforming as Teller, he at that moment is just Raymond).
@@esilva8349 I heard his voice for the first time on a documentary called MMT (Penn & Teller’s Magic and Mystery Tour), the episode on Egypt where he’s watching a fellow Egyptian magician performing the cups & balls.
The best magic is that which you can enjoy even when you know the trick.
The look on Tellers face when he’s impressed by a trick is just as good an award in my mind.
Actually impressing Penn and Teller with the perfect execution of a trick is a much bigger price than the actual trophy. When I started watching Fool Us I thought the winning magicians were better but after some time I realized that the trophy is actually not an indication of skill but simply a measure of how good/knowledgeable Penn and Teller really are. It has nothing to do with the performance itself.
It's the reason P+T made this show - they wanted to see some magic themselves!
This is probably the best non-fooler act I've seen. It genuinely looks like pure teleportation magic. Amazing sleight of hand, so good that Teller looks genuinely amazed even though he knows how it's being done.
Thanks for the words:)!
Teller probably amazed of the execution. Doing it is whole another level than knowing how to do it.
That delighted look on Teller's face would be as good as the trophy to me. Well except that you can't take it home. That would be creepy.
it's not sleight of hand, the glass table wasn't really there, we just thought there was one, and he was just dropping the cards into his hand, and the vanishing cards help too...so easy to figure out, anyone can solve this
Like their clear cups, sure, they're showing you exactly how its done, but it still seems like the balls are coming out of thin air.
The fact that these videos are all uploaded by the magicians that did them rather than the tv channel is so cool.
His original appearance is blocked now though: czcams.com/video/ddUo_ZWccno/video.html
He may not have fooled them but this is the type of magic I pay to go see. This trick was done flawlessly. The kids loved it.
I loved it too and i'm no kid. i even rewatched it in slow motion quite a few times and it still looks flawless. And even if you know how its done, it would be like saying "i know how to jugle 8 balls" but being able to do it would take years of practice, so its still very enjoyable.
I love how Penn is so kind toward the magicians and so skilled at communicating the unique angles of the trick in a way most won't get/notice so that the mystery is maintained for the audience.
The entire show is respecting magicians. I love this.
Well, you don't need to be very smart to understand that the only way to hide cards and "make them pass thru glass" is using a sleight of hand and angles. People don't know how he does the stuff because it is done very fast and requires training... like one year of training. Magic is not real, but looks real. Even if you know the trick it still looks great.
Only losers claim that the audience knowing how the trick is done puts them out of work, because if a magician is good will always find news ways to make old tricks work.
@@mikatu the secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything. I would wager you have no clue how it's done and you didn't know anything about angles until Penn said something. I was very pleased with the performance because I don't know how it's done and if I knew how it was done it would be much less to me overall. Most people are happy being fooled, which explains a lot...
I remember one where the magician tried a shtick similar to Penn and teller, making big point to the audience about how it's just tricks, and when pen explained how they weren't fooled, you could absolutely tell that he wasn't amused, either by him infringing on their overall vibe, or on his quality of execution, he wasn't overtly mean, but comparatively, you could tell that penn really didn't like the guy. Can't remember who it was though.
Kinda part of the unspoken code of magicians: never reveal the method of a trick unless the magician has already revealed it themselves. Wouldn't be a very good gameshow for magicians if every time someone failed to fool them P&T were like "Well you've got the mirror over there pointing at the curtain which has a special coating on it to do...." etc etc. That would straight-up ruin an aspiring magician's act.
Dude! Woooooooooow!!!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 🔥 🔥 🔥
spidey?
Thanks so much!! Dude :)!
I am a big fan of both of you
yeah spidey likes magic...lol and that was some excellent work young man. very well done. like they said it really does look magical.
Spider you should go on Fool Us! You’re amazing ♦️♣️
The show is funny in that the magicians with the best skill often don't fool P&T. Someone mentioned this in another comment section, and I agree: they need to have a separate award for showmanship/expertise. Jeki would win that award for sure.
Just watch Americas Got Talent or a similar talent contest if that's what you want
Some even don't try fooling them with routines already known by every magician and some laymen as well. I personally just focus on enjoying these performances.
The goal behind Fool Us is to encourage new types of magic. Sure, there are folks that come on for the publicity, but for the people who really want the trophy, they are incentivised to use stuff P&T likely haven't seen before.
the name of the show is fool us.
It's fool us
I love the look on Tellers face when he watches really good magic!!! You can see the absolute love he has for it
That's true. And if the magician is great with sleight of hand, he always has that look.
As someone who has studied magic for years (too scared to perform) I think that if there was no camera tricks, and I dont think there were, that was the most beautiful card routine I have ever seen. I've never thought anything looked so much like real magic before. It was perfect.
It wasn't a camera trick so much as a camera "angle"
If you want to understand this better, you have to understand that from P&T perspective, he used force for this trick.
That said, the actual execution was flawless.
Oh my. That trick is by far one the best I’ve seen this year. You deserve the trophy. You’ll be back and get one for your wife. Congratulations
Jeki, I would like to see your wife win her OWN trophy. Any chance she would appear on Fool Us? Or, since the two of you sometimes work together, maybe include her next time?
I thought the trick was fantastic also, but I would not go as far as the other commenter saying he deserved the trophy. If he deserved the trophy P&T would have given it. You are a spectacular artist, Penn and Teller know this, but they don't give these awards out for fooling us, it's for fooling them. You have it in you, you are sharp, you know the right angles to fool P&T, you've done it before, you can do it again. Your trying to fool P&T is awesome for us, the more you try, the better the rest of us are amazed! Great job!
Performing an amazing trick doesn't make you deserve the trophy. You also need to use a technique and trick that nobody else knows.
@@marcp1180 point of the show is too highlight the best magicians not fool them.
I think that high praise from P&T was worth more than any trophy!
I remember watching you craft this act during the pandemic and I'm glad you were able to showcase it on Penn and Teller! Love your stuff man, love how simplistic the setups appear to be for how much is going on under the table...so to speak.
The level of perfection in this execution is even more impressive than magic. The skill is out of this world.
This strikes me as one of those situations where P&T didn't see the trick being done, but knew how it was done anyway.
Penn often brings up the idea of a trick that is so perfect that there is only a single possible explanation.
Eliminate impossible whatever remains has to be true Sherlock Holmes
Well yes they don't know exactly how to do it cuz they can't do it but the premise is he sliding it very quickly between his fingers and keeps his hand down to you you can't see that small little space with a card in it managed to shuffle it back and show you the other side of his hand I can't remember what they call that but and it takes a lot of practice as in thousands of hours and you'll also notice that the camera angle was only at one angle not from straight above cuz then you would have seen the card trickery
They really REALLY know a lot
@@deepsquat600 He is not sliding between his fingers, I can tell you that. You're close to the solution, though.
I'll never know how he did this trick and never want to know. When he removed the black tablecloth that was the moment of truth and did the trick again, I was blown away!
He Fooled Me! I loved every second of his magic! I could watch him all day! XO
I really thought it was gonna be a fooler.
Waiting to see more from this guy.He is getting better and better, especially his showmanship, professionalism and magical vibes.
Even tho it was a quick simple performance it was amazing to watch. The sleight of hand work is fantastic
It's so clean, It really does look just like magic!
simple? I'm clueless once he changed pants...
This was the highest form of magic. It looks truly impossible, the methods involved are pure mechanical skill. I'm in awe of the effect, and even more in awe of the technical execution.
This is the kind of act that makes me still believe in magic. Really beautiful.
For the life of me can’t figure it out, replayed over and over, slowing it down, reading other comments. Amazing trick, amazing magic. This makes me want to check out more of your content !
Amazing performance! After a very long time I really felt like I saw magic infront of my eyes, nothing looked sketchy, everything was just how magic should be performed
I love how you adapt(ed) and honed this routine to the different circumstances and necessities.
I absolutely love this. Doesn't matter if you fooled them or not. That was class.
I really like that the people work behind the scenes help to setup the act. They're magicians themselves and I'm sure it's a comfort for appearing magicians to know they're getting that help. It's not as hostile an environment as it seems.
Amazing, Jeki! Be very proud--whether you got the trophy is not nearly as important as the fact that you have shown all of us, laymen and magicians, just how magical and amazing your work is. Congrats!
Still destroys my lizard brain every time.
Thank you again for bringing us magic thru out the pandemic to take our minds off of it all.
Thanks so much!!
You have a human brain. The "lizard brain" comment is based on the lie of evolution.
Very clever edge design on the glass table. The fact he makes a big thing about removing all the black yet the edge of the table is black. His low arm angle and sliding hand is doing all the 'magic'
Good guess
That's why Penn says "you've got good edge", and he laughs
Ah, didn't notice and now I'm getting a clue, but a long way from knowing still... thanks.
glass table's edge is like spiral and he push cards to there....
You are everything wrong with the world. You try to end simple pleasures. I can only imagine how worthless your life is. But I can imagine and I see why you want to take pleasure from others.
That was mind blowing. It was the most incredible card trick I have ever seen.
As soon as Penn said the word "_ _ G _ E", Jeki knew that they knew. What an awesome (and brave) concept to perform on this show! Bravo Jeki!!
That was an absolutely wonderful performance, and felt like real magic. Thanks for making me feel joy and astonishment.
That was incredible. I can usually have a half decent guess or have some ideas. This one I was clueless. Extremely slick and convincing. I absolutely loved this one.
Hands down probably the best magic trick I've seen in my life ... and I've seen a ton!
This is, I think, the most simple sequence I've seen on P&T, even more simple than some of the variations of cups-and-balls. That is why it is the most beautiful, because, as Penn says, it really does make you go "Wow... that was magic".
what's the trick?
@@le3b Just amazing slight of hand. Keeping your attention on the table is the distraction while he just quickly and cleanly cups the cards in his hands. He's just so quick and clean with his execution you don't even notice it unless you know what to look for.
@@TheRyujinLP That's what I assumed, but could never be sure. The execution is so precise.
Even if you know how it’s done it fools my mind every time thank you for sharing this beautiful routine with us
Great stage presence, great delivery, and INCREDIBLE trick. I have no idea how you did it....I think it actually may be magic!
Absolutely incredible. That is true pure magic. I love your work Jeki, keep doing what you do
I loved that!!! By far the best card trick I’ve seen on CZcams in a long time. Awesome Jeki.
I love this type of trick!
Huge props for doing it in front of Penn and Teller. It's such an amazing looking trick, for sure. I've seen a similar trick once before, but its amazing every time.
Thank you for being amazing :)
That is a hell of an effect! I did catch one move though when you pulled back the table cloth. The second card disappearing. But the rest of it? I couldn’t catch you on any other moves.
Amazing trick! And Penn was right. It truly did look like magic.
Seeing Tellers jaw drop must’ve been amazing to experience as a magician. He knows a good routine and yours was expertly pulled off. Congratulations!
that is some smooth card mechanics. well done.
EDIT: Oh. and like a lot of others are saying: kudos to you for taking feedback and improving your skills from it. That has got to be one of the best uses of social media I have ever heard of.
One of my favorite things about this is he's doing that "oh my!" thing WAY less or at least downplaying it.
Everything else is perfect.
That was masterful. I was paying close attention, and never saw how he made the cards disappear, nor how he made them move through glass. Absolutely amazing performance.
I had to go 0.25 speed to see it, and while I get it, he performs it very well!
I can show you how they disappear.
It’s wonderful to see a trick that took a year to perfect, and then executed so well on the first try. Really good job and you definitely fooled me! 😄
Incredibly impressed with the LIVE performance - takes all of Jeki's videos to new heights knowing he doesn't need unlimited retries to achieve true magic.
Really good point👍
Wow! I get 90+ % of the magic on FU. This is an amazing routine!
It was beautiful to watch and I caught absolutely nothing.
I haven't seen anything that mesmerizing in many years. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Jeki, you are literally a once in a lifetime act. Your handling of… literally everything is ridiculous!
You know you did good, when they're praising you even when they worked it out. You're fantastic.
You're my Korean hero, Jeki. I really need Korean heroes because I sometimes struggle in relating with my Korean heritage. I don't really feel Korean. But when I watch your magic, it makes me feel proud to be Korean like you.
First I watched this, my jaw literally dropped. AMAZING!!
When watching it again with the explanation for Penn, I thought it's the black frame that e shoves card through, but wehen you slow down around 3:25 it's not used. This is the best trick I have seen for a long time!! And i really appreciate that he has developed it especially for us at home. Great, thank you :)
As a P&T youtube binge watcher, your trick is in my top 20 most enjoyable. Keep perfecting and inventing good sir!
Your Sleight of hand is really top level. This is one of those tricks that i'll come back to see over and over again. Truly magical!
Beautiful. Been saying it for a while, you're one of the most underrated magicians for sure. Thanks for the inspiration Jeki :)
Thanks for the words :) !!
Underrated? Not in this house. Jeki is the best!
I said it before in this here comment section: I don't understand how this guy doesn't have AT LEAST 1M subs.
@@Phoboz the fact he's married to a magician too is awesome. Good luck with either of them hiding anything from each other in their house lol
@@JEKIYOO Beautifully done. Thank you.
Amazing routine. Jeki for me is the best close-up magician in the world right now. And he's so likeable!
I think there are three of equal talent. Jeki is very entertaining in a fun, upbeat, happy way; Shin Lim in a polished, Hollywood, almost over-dramatic way; and Eric Chien seems just as confused as his audience in a "wait, how did THAT happen??" kind of way. All three are just wonderful to watch.
I loved watching this because, as Penn said, it really felt completely magical. I was in absolute awe.
Allison "Well you fooled me"... also Alison when her uncle does the removing thumb trick.
That was beautiful and genuinely looks like magic. Great job
I think the most important thing is that you fooled me, and probably fooled almost every one watching this video, and you found the way to improve your magic tricks despite what people say.👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🔥🔥 you have all my support!!
Congrats on getting on the show! I remember watching you do pieces of this during the quarantine but holy smokes this was amazing. Insanely smooth and natural.
This was so entertaining and definitely had me glued to my phone while watching! A very great act that I think looked super impressive! ⚓️
Okay, first impressive thing is that you totally got me. I was thinking about that black tablecloth, and then the black pants...
I think the trick is phenomenal and looks so clean. I might have an inkling based on their comments, but the skill involved in making it look so good is astounding. I think the trick is better than 95% of the tricks that fool P&T. Well done.
The trick is still one of my favorites even though you didn't win. Keep up the great work jeki
I've been a fan of magic since I saw Paul Daniels on TV as a kid. That was the best close up I have seen.
Results of dedication to a craft! Holy smoke!!
Best style of that I've ever seen!
A year ago I never heard of Jeki Yoo. But now I can't stop talking about him! His magic is very entertaining and always looks effortless. Can't wait to see more of him in the future.
He hold him self to say "Oh My " until ending and it was amazing 😂😂
This honestly looks like pure magic. Amazing act!!
Very,very good routine!
Very sympathic presentation, GREAT magic, really nice to watch it for many times!
Thanks a lot!
Jeki, my friend. Congratulations for what you're doing for magic, comedy and creativity
I am waiting for the next episode of Penn and teller get annoyed .
This is awesome! They may have figured it out but you’re still a 2 time champion in my book :-)
In recent decades magic has moved onto a different level. This trick may look simple but it's only thanks to Penn's key words we get a hint of how it's done.
This is a great illusion taken to the highest level.
Wonderful trick! You are a very talented magician and now one of my favorites! Keep up the great work!
Wow! That was amazing. Even looking at it frame by frame (for example at 2:18) one can see the card vanishing, but it still appears to be disappearing into thin air. Amazing trick and a great performance! Thank you for sharing it with us.
This part isn’t magic-related, but I love how genuine you were about your wife, just smiled and said she always gives you solid feedback and that you two make a great team. It’s nice to see other guys do that, idk why I found it so wholesome lol. It’s just a tiny detail but a respectable one. I hope to remember to do the same about my fiancée if I’m lucky enough to get on stage someday. (For stand-up. I don’t even know magic basics yet.)
Anyway, your sleight of hand is ridiculously impressive. Truly god-level stuff. Huge congrats, whether they got fooled or not. Makes me wanna get better so I’m off to practice shuffling cards… seriously. Just shuffling. That’s the current goal lmfao
dude's got great charisma and from the looks of it, a great support system in his life. hope your stuff's going well nowadays too!
just saw the "wholesome" bit and yea, that's his entire shtick. be charismatically wholesome while performing. it works really well for him haha
Even if P&T knew how it was being done, your delivery was so smooth that it didn't matter. You still wowed them immensely, which is a great accomplishment in itself.
lots of acts on this show are amazing. but you always know theres a trick somewhere even when you dont know what it id. im not sure if ive ever legit thought that something was actual magic, until this act. this was beautiful. best pure magic act on the show i think, even if it didnt fool them.
This is INSANE 🤯
Excuse me, this is not a trick :): this is magic 🔥🔥 you did a great job, Jeki 👏🏻👏🏻
This is the greatest and most beautiful card trick I've seen so far it gave me back the Leonard Green effect
For me it is one of the best quick card tricks I have ever seen, well done.
This is by far, the most impressive handles I've ever seen, the cards literally disappear
Not literally. They only appear to.
@@JiveDadson Can you see where the cards went?
@@matiasortega3205 No one can.
@@JiveDadson then, they disappear for your eyes :)
I saw small slight of hands went through a bent of glass. An angle of a glass that can hide hidden pouches through the panel.
Even if you know how the trick is done, this is just a class act to watch.
Absolutely brilliant in using humour, magic and entertainment all together.
Always loved your videos Jeki!
Keep up the great work
I sometimes wonder if Penn and Teller ever get envious ... see other magicians that are just soooo good and question how they, themselves, didn't come up with that. It's not really a competition and, for the audience, is always so amazing. All magicians ... please keep, for us who've grown old and jaded, that spark of disbelief, that wonder, that awe. You have no idea how important what you do really is.
I hope you never get rid of this in your routine. One of the most simple tricks that truly are mind blowing and as Penn said, feels like magic
"that angle on that trick" has to be significant. I mean, I have no idea how he does it and I love his tricks, but P&T must have spotted something familiar to them. I almost don't want to know how it's done, I like being taken in my magicians like this.
Got a pretty good idea and thought i spotted something, but you know, WHO CARES!
I sure can't do it and it was fun to watch :-)
They figured it out in minutes! That took me months to figure out. Absolutely beautiful performance. I always wondered if you needed lots of takes to get it so clean... Guess not! So fantastic!
Another great performance! Happy to see you again! All the best for the future!
That's some of the cleanest magic I've ever seen. World class.
I think he falls into the class of magicians whose tricks are well known in the trade, but whose performance is of such a high level that their fellow professionals marvel at it. Anyone can throw a punch. This guy is the Muhammad Ali of magicians. Even better, it is impossible for him to hide what a wonderful human being he is.
Whenever they want to show P&T's reaction, they really should do a split screen showing both the magician and P&T, instead of cutting away from the magician and go back and forth between them.
Japan is on to something.
I think the edit the video on purpose like that! Sometimes with really bad tricks that have obvious shows they will cut away from the trick at that time. Probably not this trick but in general I think it’s their…trick!
its so incredible how you are so excited and happy for there feed back. the greats telling you your also great and i love to see it. amazing
That's a great trick, you captured the essence of what magic's about with that one. Fooling Penn and Teller twice isn't easy!
Brilliantly performed illusion. I could work out how it was done, and could just barely see the slight of hand. I like the subtle comment Penn said which showed that they knew how it was done, and I like how Alyson says you fooled her, even though standing right next to the table she could clearly see how it works. Camera operator near the end needed to be a bit more careful, as he almost gave it away by getting the camera too high. Nice touch with the light coloured shorts, as it was wonderful misdirection, even though it was a risk at showing the card hide. Brilliant performance, and entertaining.
See the improved version without the black strip: czcams.com/video/2ywj7-HAOTg/video.html
Jeki you are the best card magician I have ever seen-- and I watch a lot of Magicians-- wow-- that really did look like real magic.
Not all magicians are entertaining, Jeki is. My joy came from watching him not the trick.
Jeki Yoo that was a really impressive trick, and done so clean, it really looks like real magic.
Beautiful performance, executed perfectly!
You are by far the best I've seen on this card through the glass table trick. And you did that with a very thick glass, which makes it much harder for the cards to pass thru. I don't know why Penn kept talking about the angles there, all the angles on the edges on that table seem perfectly 90 degrees, there is no mistake there.
